yeah but what about now? that whole speech was too on the nose while the remake perfectly captures the speech while not explaining exactly what the purpose of pyramid head was
To me, leaving all the lore and symbolisms aside, I never really knew a lot about Pyramid Head besides the fact that he was from Silent Hill and the fact that he was very tough, but the vibe he always gave me was more like in the remake, this strong, imposing enemy that looks like a final boss just from it's appearance.
I feel like they missed the mark with the first boss fight. I understand the more open arena is better in terms of gameplay, but I feel the claustrophobic staircase with the flooded bottom in the original game was more panic inducing, and it just made more sense thematically. I'm also not so sure why they got rid of the Pyramid Head violating the Lying Figure. Some people are saying it is "censorship", but they kept the scene of the Pyramid Head doing the same to the Mannequin in the first cutscene, so I'm not so sure about that. However, to give the remake props, the Pyramid Head's intro cutscene is great. Maybe even better than the original. I like how the Pyramid Head is more unnatural and twitchy in its movements. It really emphasises the inhumanity of this entity. The metallic "breathing" sounds it makes is also a nice touch. They also fixed some of that silly logic that plagued the original cutscene. James actually turns his flashlight off, like any reasonable person would, instead of just leaving it on to shine through the door. The Pyramid Head is also no longer fazed by gunfire. In the original, the Pyramid Head, actually appears to get injured by it and flees the seen afterwards, which is strange when you consider that in actual gameplay, it's almost invincible. I'm not a purist for the original game. I can acknowledge when the remake does something better.
Thank you for being someone that can actually think and not hold one game over the other like it’s a religious right. I feel the same way about the OG fight. It was nice to see the old arena in the apartments as a call back tho so we clearly see that Bloober really put their love and respect into making this game.
Pyramid Head going underwater is iconic, feels more impactful than him just opening a door. BUT that room was small AF, maybe if they made him slower it would work
the reason why James didn't turn off his flashlight is due to James state of mind and feeling of being disassociated and incapable of sometimes doing logical things. That's why he jumped in several pits without even thinking how deep it is or crossing an apartment building from a window, do grosteque things such as picking up a wallet on a filthy toilet. There's a reason why they leave it that way. Also James speaks in a dream like and sometimes neutral tone because he is in a state of delusion.
It is censorship. They actually show the full act in the OG, not just a tiny glimpse of part of it from around a corner wall. The denial of you wokesters knows no limits.

Maria is more of James' manifestation than Pyramid Head is (although Maria is also implied to be a character on her own) while James pulls Maria out of Silent Hill to be a version of Mary, Silent Hill sends Pyramid Head to take Mary away so James can move on.
@@AVarghulthey make the new pyramid head more toned and muscular and by making it move fast it removes the scare factor because the builld has been removed. Also the PH in OG is more like a walking corpse, they made him very human like in the remake. He was supposed to be an ambigous monster.
Lmao they censored the scenes for ''modern audiences''.
If you’re talking about the “rape” shit with pyramid head. The creator of the game said years ago that that was not what was happening. So nothings been censored
@@Akosa117 If nothing happens, why change it? Obviously new creators thought "something" happening and censored it. Also those creatures comes from James' fantasies. So, even if it's not a ''rape'', it is still a sexual reference.
@@Akosa117 Masahiro Ito says he did this to make these scenes look sexual. Pyramid Head (or Nurse) literally moans at 3:08 . How can you say there is no censorship?
@@Mysterion_KM I don’t think you know what censorship is 💀 the scene was never a rape scene to begin with this game is just from a completely different perspective, we see what the character sees, it’s still the same scene
@@Sin-pt2eq Oh i get it you guys one of those modern audiences, that's why you trying to bend the truth ahaha. Bro blatantly lying and saying these two scenes are the same ahaha. You didn't even read what i wrote, these scenes were made to evoke sexuality, it doesn't have to be ''rape''.
Me personally I liked when he walked into the water without drowning then a few seconds later it drains then you have to follow while the siren is playing😂 i think they shouldve really kept that. Nonetheless great remake
Nothing was censored and the games director said multiple times PH's scenes were never meant to be extreme in nature, that was always just fan interpretation.
That was the art director that said that.
heavy cope
Woke denial. The censorship is obvious in this video, you buffoon.
In the Making of Silent Hill 2 the character artist very clearly states that most horrific scenes are coupled with erotic imagery, and that this was very much intentional.
The amount of denial of this very fact will never stop being baffling to me. The scenes are so provocative you'd have to be insane to not consider them sexual.
@@robbanbobban2 This doesn't at all confirm that any scenes were ever meant to be seen as a metaphor for r*pe. Especially since nothing about James' past has anything to do with being abusive in that particular way to begin with.
what's funny at the 3:10 part is in the remake, The fight with pyramid head takes place in a different location, but u can still find the mannequin body pyramid head was freakin on by the staircase later on.
Originally I wished that we still got that scene in the remake, but seeing the lying figure there by the staircase at least implies that scene still happens, despite us not seeing it. Which I think is the best outcome we can get. I’m appreciative of the extra pyramid head scenes we got in the remake.
I see what ppl mean about the “censor” thing. If this game was made by Red Barrels (Outlast) then you would see it I bet. I'm chill with it either way imo, since Idrc and I figured out the meaning in the remake. Just tells me James wasn't the greatest human being to exist (which makes sense)
Original finale -
James: You are my guilt, and I don't need you anymore.
Pyramid Head: Fuck you, I am all that you are.
Remake finale -
James: You are my fear of death, and I don't need you anymore.
Pyramid Head: Prove it.
How did I miss the 2nd part in the remake? That part never happened to me. I did fight him in open area but pyramid head never did grab me by neck and throw me. I’m confused
It's mandatory who catches you on the roof
I never got this part as well :(
Its at the hospital right before catching up to Laura and fighting flesh lips. The person posting the video edited together the sequence into the wrong order.
Dude it’s a cutscene it happens to every player
must not have gotten too far in the game yet then
Both awesome
They took away his freakiness 😞 an angel lost its wings fr
you guys are weird to wanting to see nasty creature sex or whatever the hell it is 😂
Horror isn't horror if it isn't terrifying, scary or disturbing. That's what I dislike about the remake. It censored what made Pyramid head so scary to many people.
By censoring those scenes devs funked up PH argument
Now they turned it into Nemesis
@@kylewood4488-b9rI think his big ass sword and red head makes him scary to people, not that he kinda rapes the figures
10/10 game
the silent hill remake has that bloober feel. It's hard to describe but the newer cutscenes are just not as impactful as original.
You have to be retarded or some shit. The old one had goofy ass dialogue and bad delivery.
Just stop. Nostalgia has definitely blinded you fanboy lmaooo
The original is better than the remake
Not it isn't especially not gameplay graphics wise and boss fights
@@Panos_2000 And that’s the problem with younger gamers, they think it’s all about gameplay and graphics. Silent Hill is a series that is loved because of its art style and abstract story telling…. Something that feels lost in the remake. Just look at the design of the original compared the remake, it’s so superior.
@@delduvall superior? That's literally how PS2 games use to look like lmao how is it superior?
@@Panos_2000 See this is what I’m talking about, you younger gamers immediately think it’s all about graphics…. I’m talking about the art style of the original, do you know the difference between graphics and art style?
@@delduvall As much as I played SH from PS1 and PS2, this remake already did better job. They still keep the same format, the dark ass light and the disoriented camera angle. James screamed after Maria stabbed is better than original one. This might burn your pubic, but the first encounter in remake is better than original. Especially James in closet.
Why they nerve all the ass clapping?
Was hoping to finally get to see it in HD 😭
😂 so they removed pyramid head getting it on. Wow, talk about fucked the lore.
The dev confirmed a long time ago, he didn't "get on" with them... inform yourself before talking about lore
@@murderycatdoll1380Why did he take it off? A few remasters out there like Tomb Raider and Dead Rising seemed to have been censored 🤷♂️.
Wtf that detail don't screw the lore bro
@@Belmont1714it wasn’t taken out because it was never there. The dev said that that was not what was happening.
Well why is there sexual moaning then? Or are you deaf and not hear anything🤣
the original is so much better than the remake with the exception of the AD fight
Absolutely not lmaoo
The acting in the og is so distracting. The oddness method supposed to make the characters feel off, but it’s used even during emotional scenes when we’re supposed to feel emotional not off, it’s distracting
Siento que lo que es diseño, el de silent hill 2 normal es mucho mejor.
La pirámide del 2 rekame solo está oxidado y con uno que otro toque de sangre, pero el normal se siente como una herramienta de tortura recién utilizada.
No sé si me explico.
My reaction to the original pyramid head: 😨😱
My current reaction to the remake pyramid head: 😑🥱
Bloober Team: (CENSORED FOR MODERN AUDIENCES) 👌👌👌
Was the tongue flar still in the remake.
Imagine buying the same game twice... 😂
Cringe
Rockstar always makes people do that 😂
and for $70
It’s a 23 year difference in graphics it looks completely diffrent and so much better
your bait is shit, do better next time
remake game worths nothing without Thunderlands jacket patches... pieceofS.
I really like the remake so far but why did the switch up James shooting pyramid head and Pyramid head “sensing” James ? Makes no sense in that order 🤔
I think it's to hint at pyramid head being an extension of James's subconcious. The same way you have a repressed feeling coming up from the surface, you can sense it in the back of your mind.
the game is so awesome
Mannnn i remember playing Silent Hill: Origins on psp in middle school in broad daylight and even then it was scary as fuck. And when i played silent hill on ps2 also when sun was up i was scared shitless... and you know what? Playing silent hill 2 remake when sun settled down was nothing. They have ruined all scenes which have had a lot of emotions. It's just sad for me :(
I played the original and the remake, they didnt ruin anything.
Part of it is probably because you're grown up i reckon. Nothing hits the same when you grow up
@@VideoGameKitties For me? they ruined it like i said. I've played for example stalker or metro back in the days and playing them now i fell the same but with silent hill? sadlly no :(
@@LAJIRAFA66_ALT I woudn't say so as i played metro or stalker in middle school and felt really scared as i am today. recently i played these games too and there are the same emotions as back when i played them in middle school. When in stalker i am going down to some lab alone i still fell scared, same with metro but with metro i am all the time there and still there is same emotion of fiellng scared. Silent hill for me is just ruined. :)
Nostalgic gatekeeping fanboy detected lmaooo smh
Lmao they censored the scenes for ''modern audiences''
