I see hardly anyone talking about the Crier’s War duology and it’s such a shame because both books are so so good!

My two favorite sapphic books are Wild and Wicked Things (a fantasy set in the 1920s, featuring weird magic, blood curses, the protagonist and her love interest have a magic lesbian Nick Carraway/Gatsby dynamic, it's a bit dark but has a nice end) and Last Night at the Telegraph Club (set in 1950s SanFran and deals with exploring sexuality, being a child of immigrant parents, it's so well written and made me cry)
One of my favorite queer books in general is The Spirit Bares Its Teeth, which is a weird ghost-y spooky mystery set in a women's asylum in Victorian England with a closeted trans man protagonist. I'm a trans man myself and I really felt seen by it and just enjoyed the plot in general. Definitely heed the trigger warnings (the author does put them at the start) but it's so good, and it features a t4t romance which I found very sweet

ooo thank you for the recommendations! the author of Wild and Wicked Things actually used to work at the bookstore a town over from mine (in the same company) and I always heard they were really cool! somehow still haven't read the book though so definitely need to get to that 😅 the Spirit Bears its Teeth sounds really cool too!

Even Though I Knew the End sounds so cool I can't believe I've never heard of it. Also, I was already planning on reading This is How You Lose the Time War, but I appreciate how you described the plot more than I've heard from others. I'm even more excited for it now

Any suggestions? I’m a first time writer, I found a deep passion for writing and as I am lesbian, I wanted to give my community the books they deserve. I’d like to disclose that as the author, I will probably be biased since it’s my own creation so please keep in mind that getting my book to a wanting audience is my goal and I’ll be transparent by that but genuinely, I could see myself benching it on my period in a heartbeat. Though my book is not yet published, it’s at page 327 out of I have no idea how many thousands of pages there will be and I would love to get some ideas or suggestions of what the community would like to read! Short context without major spoilers, it’s a dark romance wlw with a tad bit of thriller and physiological stuff sprinkled in as a bonus. The relationship between the characters is rather intense, meant to keep the reader on their toes, any thoughts? I’d love to hear them! It’ll be published under the name of Hit me like a woman which might give off some hints of the direction it’s going to sass its way over to.

I love how wholesome your recs are! The Secret Sunshine Project looks adorable, and I can't wait to check out Mamo.
I read Imogen, Obviously last year and totally agree about how it tackles prejudice within the LGBTQ+ community! I think Becky Albertalli called it her most personal book yet because she was forced to come out as bi cuz people kept criticizing her for being a ~straight~ author who wrote queer books :/
A cute wlw rec for you is Thieves by Lucie Bryon! Adorable and funny translated graphic novel about teen girls!

yes I heard that! it sucks so much that she was pressured to come out, the assumption and just blindness to bi people even within what's meant to be a safe space can be tough sometimes 😕 Thieves looks adorable though, I will definitely be requesting that one at the library! Thank you!

@@GraceEllerby I finished Imogen Obviously, and oh my god. I don't think I've EVER enjoyed reading a book as much as I did this one. So incredibly wholesome, funny, and deeply relatable (not bi myself, but being ace I could more than enough relate to the whole self realization process and doubts). I cried so many times. I can't fit all my thoughts into a comment but long story short, I have a new all-time favourite book. Thank you SO DAMN MUCH for the recommendation ❤

@@GraceEllerbyAwww 🥰 Yes I felt very seen! You definitely have and I'm very grateful, hahaha! I also have a book nerd friend who is bi and who had read Imogen before; and she loved it as much as I did. So we have extensively fangirled over it by now 😂
