Same scenario with cyrus mistry, he was in a much more safer Mercedes yet dead, after 64km/h safety rating hardly matters because ncap tests are done with that limit. Always drive slow and safe, as ravi bhai said, accidents bata kar nahi hote, kabhi bhi kuch bhi so sakta hai, always wear seatbelts be it in alto or audi.
He died because of no seat belt.. not because the car got very heavily damaged... !!
Safety matters at any speed. Your chances of survival increases if your car is safe.
I believe a person will feel a lot more safer in VAG group cars than any other car brand specially if it is a Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai.

@@deepindersingh9460 as i have stated earlier ncap ratings are valid upto a certain speed and force of the accident. I haven’t stated that it is unimportant but considering the ncap tests of 64kmh and our highway speed limits of 70-120kmh I don’t think if a accident happens at these highway speeds crash rating would be worthy at all. But Certainly in city speeds i would feel much safer in a 5* rated vehicle. Spl case no safety rating can save any passenger if driver of a car rams into a truck full of iron bars extending beyond the body length and hanging below and vice versa for a truck too to ram into a car with that load.

Tata Nexon and Taigun is great in terms of safety
Most of the compact SUVs in India are 4 to 5 stars.. Sadly there are limited choices in Hatch back Sedan and MPV.
Venue ,creta ,seltos all are 2 to 3 star rated.

Very good decision by them. After realizing from an accident that build quality matters most, they chose a vehicle with 5 star safety. One of my friend is interested in MS Fronx, but I'm trying to tell him not to buy but doesn't listen, as he wants sukh shaanti, and continuing to trust MS despite having poor image in safety is very disappointing.
I dont what kind of sukh shanti people get after getting an inferior product . We have a altroz petrol in our friend circle it have completed 50k kms within 2.5 yrs no problem till now . The service is also good and the service cost is also affordable.

Great choice….after 2 yrs of its launch I’ve never seen any Taigun been involved in any major accident. I’ve also personally felt on the highway while driving 90+KM and ESC came in and controlled it.
Because there aren't that many on the road anyways.

@@gearedtorule If we fear so much of other vehicles we wouldn't walk outside our home or use motorcycle for commuting purpose because of fear that anyone can hit us. After all, driving a 1 🌟 car is much much safer than riding a motorcycle or walking on the streets.
I commented because what owner had told, that electric pole was broken completely, and he also had broken bones, just look at the x-rays, and he was with his friends. You could imagine what was the scenario. Yes safer car is better, but we as citizens do have some responsibilities.
Rules like :3 second rule, overtaking unnecessary, distractions specially from infotainment specially loud music and not being aware of surroundings.

Madam was just justifying their purchase, and talking as if she is the brand ambassador of VW. VW parts are extremely costly and no service available in tier 2 & 3 cities. And one in a million will buy a second hand VW car, therefore no resale value.
I personally would have bought XL 6 top model automatic in 17 lakhs if i had that much money.
Sure, but there is a big catch in India that best looking cars are from Tata but better engines are in Maruti or Hyundai.
If his claimed mileage is correct then these German cars are good in both these categories although bit costly at upfront.
I've suggested Tata Altroz to my Maruti Fan friend but his test drive & New Balano' long feature list+ Clever Sales guys have shifted him towards that.
Plus that 22+ kmpl mileage & wide service network too was deciding factor. The Six airbags was main safety feature pointed by the sales guy plus increased body weight also made him think so.

Many congratulations to the owner to choose one of the safest car in the segment and not following the herd mentality. Indians should avoid being brand blindness and give importance to the safety as well. Unfortunately this is still a distant dream as majority of our countrymen have cheap mentality as just wants to show off.
Thats the problem with the general indian car buying audience they r always looking for features and not seeing what they exactly want thats the reason suzuki kia and hyundai is just putting a ton of features most of which are useless in daily life and ppl just forget about driving feel,soft suspension for potholes,ppl forget about handling,stability and engine feel and just blindly go with feature loaded unsafe cars...........i applaud Honda and Citroen for providing only what is needed wthout compromising on build quality and safety.....I have a Citroen C5 aircross(which is a big car which i use for family trips) and i have a Honda Elevate which i use to travel inside city.

I saw this (T Cross) on gurugram road once & was like woah that looks mesmerizing... Tried searching up it's looks but couldn't find much about it coz you know from back it's a taigun & front it's a tiguan but better. So I was pretty confused, then I called up my friend who has a kushaq & coz he's a VW fan so as expected he knew what I was talking about. I was just immensely shocked that such a marvelous looking car didn't get the attention & ad it required.

People living in hilly areas should always choose cars with naturally aspirated engines,Turbo engines struggles alot in steep inclines & cars feel choked if it goes below turbo range
Plains mei turbo cars can be preferred over Na engine cars
im incline torque has a role to play in which turbos scuceed when pulled in upshift also , otherwise in na you would have to downshift snd upshift

They both are quite safe to if you opt for higher models , my friend had a crash in his old gen creta speed was around 110 kmph, still he had only minor injuries

@80arnav 5 star rating doesn't guarantee safety at all costs. As these tests are done in v controlled environment. Escapes are always narrow when it comes to mishaps.

The 1.0L TSI turbocharged 3-cylinder engine is the same engine that was provided in Polo GT.
The 1.5L TSI turbocharged used to be provided in VW T-Roc.
VW discontinued both Polo and T-Roc and came up with Taigun (rip-off of Tiguan just like Kushaq is of Kodiaq).
The 1.5 TSI turbo is an amazing engine and a great example of German engineering.
I absolutely have no issue with this engine only that is costs a lot more.
The 2-cyl cut-off while cruising is simply brilliant.
BUT
Rs. 17L for 1.0L 3-Cyl engine is sheer loot from consumers.
The 1.0L NA (MPI) engine only produced 75bhp and 95Nm of torque (seen in Polo non-GT variants)
Turbochargers had been there for more than a century now and were being used since 60s/80s era in race cars to increase the power output.
Please note that most race car engines were meant to be used only ONCE.
However, the brands started using the turbochargers in smaller engines to increase the power output.
Problems with Turbochargers:
-Turbocharged engines come with a lot driving-habit instructions that most people tend to ignore, hence, risking engine life and safety
-Turbochargers cause the engine temperature to rise immensely "risking" engine part meltdown and engine failure
-Turbochargers last for about 1,00,000kms (or sooner, depending upon driving habits) and need to be replaced requiring engine work
Problems with 3-Cylinder engine units:
-In 3-cyl engines, the cylinders/piston are fired at every 120° rotation of crankshaft (while it is at every 90° for a 4-cyl)
-To accomodate same amount of power figues, the engine works more and crankshaft rotations are significantly larger causing more vibrations and earlier wear&tear of engine components
-The odd numbers of cylinders/piston action cause the crankshaft to become unstable causing even more vibrations which tend to increase as the engine clocks more kms
-The even number(4 or 6 or 8) compositions of cylinders, on the other hand, are smoother and far more stable and also ensure longer life of engine
The 3-Cyl Turbocharged engines cost less to the brands and the power figures are comparable or even more than a 4-Cyl NA engine.
The regular consumer tend to only notice the on-paper specifications and ignore the "engine-type" or due to just lack of awareness.
Of course, the brands compensate the saved cost by providing better body and more features.
So it has now become a win-win equation for the brands.
In addition to the above,
-By the time, the turbocharged 3-Cylinder show any problem, which usually is at around 1L-1.5L kms, the warranty for most will be expired (usually 5 years including extended ones).
So any engine work without a warranty at an authorised service workshop will blow deep holes in pockets of most consumers consumers.
Also such cars will have significantly low resale value.

VW car is a high quality engineering product which is appreciated all over the world. Maruti, Hyundai etc. cars are business product only sold to Indians.
But when you will yourself have just enough money to buy a car you will also buy a Maruti or Hyundai because service availablity, parts cost and resale value matters the most.

You conviently ignored the service availablity and cost with very high accessories cost. VW charges 32K for reverse camera installation, a common Indian can't and won't pay 3-4 times money that all popular Indian car-makers charge for accessories.

One thing, nobody has commented upon. Although badly damaged the i20 saved their lives. Not sure about that time's rating. But the car was better than the average. My opinion, others may differ.

I20 also 5 star ncap. But not only car, truck also impacted when speed is abnormal. So wv or tata or skoda or ford every car not perfect for overspeed and rough driving.
How is this variant combo, i.e, 1.0 + manual performance on hills? After watching car videos for years, we want this variant between VW/Skoda ( not decided) as our next family car. Haven't found any video on this matter.. all reviews are on different road conditions but only on plains. I looking for steep and extremely twisted hill climb road conditions... Please suggest
