I rarely comment, but I just want you to know your videos bring me so much peace. Your energy is so grounding and authentic, it’s so refreshing. Thank you for your vulnerability, it’s healing ☺️
I hear you on the age topic, my grandma is 84 and runs circles around all of us. I can only hope that when I’m her age I can do as much as she does. It’s truly inspiring, because so many times as people age they just stop being active and doing things, but I think she does more in her mid 80s then she ever has!
Your channel will keep growing because people see and feel your authenticity , which today is very rare to encounter. Greetings from Argentina, country of mate 🧉 and tango.
Another great video, One of the hardest things I have had to learn is not holding onto the past. I really think this cripples our spiritual development and keeps us from living in the moment. This is why I had such a hard time letting go of 40 year accumulation of family photos and just digitalizing the few most important ones. This is among the multiple lessons I have learned from you. There is a saying I like that expresses it well "The past is a place to learn, not a place to live ." Thank you dear Alicia for your example, teaching, and encouragement you continue to give to me and others here on this channel on our journey to becoming authentic and ancestral humans. Love and peace.
That is profound self awareness you have about your need to dedicate yourself to something. Something that sounds to push you out of comfort. Many people have a difficult time leaving their comfort zone with that level of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual dedication. I understand what you mean because although I wasn’t at your level of goal of the Olympics, I remember the dedication of being a college athlete and a military soldier. I had a drill sgt yell at me in boot camp, saying Brooks, you are complacent! That stuck with me to this day of complacency is what kills our greatness. Not dedication. Always having awareness of yourself! Thanks for this reflection because I hadn’t thought about that and realize it’s a need of mine to be dedicated as well to a mission.
Thank you for these words. And that is wonderful you served in the military- thank you for this. Yes complacency is a slow death- we are here to grow 🌟
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and you’ve definitely motivated me to continue with my minimalism journey. I really do admire your lifestyle and happy belated birthday!
I like how dedicated you’ve been answering everyone’s questions. Others I follow ask for questions then mine never get answered and not that it really matters but I’ve been impressed that you’re so committed to your audience ❤
If you end up doing a 5th Q&A (which I hope you do!!) I thought of a few questions!😊 -Would you ever consider car free living, or not in SoCal, or not ever? -Have you ever been into watching sports (other than synchronized swimming), and if so, which ones and which teams? -Would you ever consider buying a house or are you fully decided on the tiny home/yurt route? -Do you ever plan on leaving SoCal, & if so, where & when? -You've mentioned you dislike Disneyland a couple times, can you talk more about it?😜 I know it's a lot no pressure to answer!🙏😊
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos! My husband is dealing with some health issues right now and I find such peace when I watch your videos. It is a nice escape for a moment. Keep doing what you’re doing!
I also love periwinkle! It's considered a pale indigo on the color wheel. Loved this Q&A, it's like catching up with an old friend you haven't seen for awhile.❤
Loved this set of questions, Alicia! Hearing you talk about your days as a synchronized swimmer was really wonderful. I think that kind of passion, commitment and discipline is a super powerful combo to have as a life’s mission, whatever it may be. I’m sure you will find it again in something else, it’s just a matter of time! And I’d love to know whenever you visit Canada, consider me a friend there! 😊❤
I LOVE periwinkle too!! My favorite color is black… and periwinkle 😁 Always my favorite Crayola color as a child and now I still get super excited about a stormy periwinkle sky. Also my favorite color of hydrangeas.
Excellent video as usual. Three decades before the recent Minimalism movement, Elaine St James wrote the 1994 best-seller "Simplify Your Life" which has 100 excellent suggestions.
Oo I’ve not read that one! Also ‘Timeless Simplicity’ by John Lane is another earlier book on minimalism and simple living, plus it’s pretty slim n easy to read but I’d just great!
Anaona was the only song I listened to in labor with my second daughter. It touches such a deep part of the heart for sure 🤍 So much love for you lady.
I love periwinkle as well. It looks terrible on me so I don’t wear it, but I think it is so beautiful. As far as staying young by keeping active, my father in law was doing P90x at 80 and building an addition on his house at 85 (he did hire two guys to hold the French doors in place while he installed them, but that was it). At 88 people think he is in his late 50s or early 60s. He says the secret is to stay active, keep your mind active, and to have something planned each day that you want to do.
Hi, I see you as fall (autumn here in Australia ). It’s about shedding old leaves and preparing to get into a quiet time. I love fall as it gives me a much needed break from summer and humidity which is so uncomfortable. As for a colour I see you as lavender - a pastel and spiritual colour. My physical addiction which seems trite but is really something I can’t forego is chocolate. I’ve been binge watching your videos and getting so much from them. Thank you 🌸
Thank you for these lovely reflections 🙏🏻💙 And chocolate is a tough one for a lot of people! If you truly love it you don’t need to eradicate that pleasure from your life, just sometimes we can go overboard with indulgences if we are feeling lack in other areas of fulfillment like our relationships, spirituality, purpose etc. So perhaps one of those areas is calling for your attention. 🩷
Thanx for another inspiring video Alicia, you are a huge inspiration to me and a beautiful soul. It is almost scary how so many things resonates and have in common. I had the luck (no coincidence :-) to find your channel by the fourth or fifth video and since then i really like your content, spiritual advice, minimalism living, etc. I’m learning from it and that is beautiful for a dutch male 57 y.o. :-)

You are so sweet to thoughtfully answer all these questions and hope these skills you are developing further serve your mission in life❤️you are a good one simply because you have self awareness! It’s so enjoyable to listen to a person that has that attribute oozing out of their life expression!
Hello Alicia ! Waouh it's such a fun thing, i've just catched your video at the exact moment you were answering my questions (color and season), what a wink 🤩 So thank you for answering them and I was thrilled to hear your answers ! Light/pastel purple (I call it “mauve” in french but it's perhaps not accurate) is my all time favourite colour (since as far as I can remember) and is the one I feel I am (and fun thing my parents named me Violaine wich is derived from “violette”) so it seems we are colour's sisters (I relate so much with your wondering about that shade of sky !) I've really enjoyed hearing your seasons preference and the one that represents you too. I am going to watch the entire video tomorrow, which will be a little treat for myself during a work break 😊 Thanks again Alicia and see you soon 💚🌺🌿
I liked your views on work and ageing. I agree that we need to have purpose, it keeps us going. It got me thinking, I would love to “retire” from my current career and go work at Trader Joe’s or some other small grocer/produce stand type situation.
So it’s a play on words- think “herbivore”, one who sustains of vegetation. As an “Exploravore” I sustain myself off of exploring: exploring nature, spirituality, philosophy, health and healing, and my own inner world.. The name popped into my head when I was hiking in the forest in Oregon last year 💚
You seem super healthy but may I ask do you practice any preventative health care? Dentist appointments, yearly medical check ups, mammograms etc? Your thoughts on this? Maybe a good video topic? Thank you 🙏🏻
You’re a better person than I am. Someone comments on my minimalism snotty I will roll my eyes and say you wanna rephrase that? Love how shocked they look, lol
I'm also in June but here in South Afrika it's winter time then and I again love the summer time like what we are now moving into because we are in September now so it's getting warmer weather and I'm loving it the leaves and green is returning so everything is coming alive and I'm just loving it
I will often take a lunch to work on the days I have to be there later, but I always just cook it right before I leave- I never meal prep day(s) before 💙
This was interesting so thank you! Do you think you will ever move back to Canada? We lived for a decade in the US then chose to move back. Just interested no judgement on either country. Just our elderly parents were here and needed help.
Glad you enjoyed! I would love to live in Canada again, but I’m actually American (just grew up there.) If I could figure out a visa situation then I totally would! 🩵

Ugh speaking about the vegan thing will never not irk me. I became veg (I only wanted to consume what my father hunted) and it quickly transitioned to veganism. I was a philosophy ungrad so I really latched on. The culmination of guilt and a very poignant question a professor asked… so I was vegan for about 7 years until I ultimately stopped. I was a bodybuilder and I couldn’t attain my goals… I digress. I can’t tell how many people I met in that time who applauded my physique or athleticism… only to bash me at the dinner table. I dated a few guys who said it was so motivating that I did such difficult things, but then they would berate me in front of others. It didn’t impact me too much because I was thoughtful enough to realize they were being goofballs.. but I’ll never understand why non-vegans are so offended by vegans. I never pressured others to take my stance, none of my friends or boyfriends were vegan. I just wanted to do it for me. But lo and behold, everyone was just flabbergasted. Well my mom and dad were okay, they wanted to be sure I was still getting nourishment, but aside from that SO many people were downright rude. Love this little series. I think it shows how much you appreciate your followers because you speak to all of us. Have a good day!
People often ridicule and berate what they do not understand, or do not WANT to understand.. Human beings are wired for compassion- to fellow humans, and to animals. When people elect not to eat animals, it often triggers those that do because something in their subconscious feels immense guilt that they are not ready or willing to acknowledge..
