- Ninjago has had some amazing ideas, but sadly, not all of them are done well in the final product. We’re analyzing five good concepts that were executed poorly.

I love that without context it seems like jay is trying to make the ying/yang promise to Kai.
I agree with these but I want to say the overlord garmadon wene I was younger made me actually scared at night! and the oni garmadon looks like he is just overweight XD

I really wish Season 10 was longer to be honest. Like, I get the idea of a minimovie style to celebrate the end of the main story, but they just did not have enough time to flush out the story. I was really disappointed with the battle between the team and the Oni. It felt really anticlimactic and boring and then we don't even see the actual end of the battle. While it is cool that they actually applied the repercussions of the tornado of creation, we haven't seen it since season 2 and they didn't actually remind us what the risks were at all. And I totally agree with what you said about the Yin-Yang promise. Ahh, there's more too, but I don't want to type forever. I just really wish they had made season 10 a full season, especially since it was the last of the original story line and with how much they hyped it up with seasons 8-9.
Day of the departed too. The villains returning idea is awesome but it doesn’t have much focus and more looks like a random thing the ninja can do during the special.
I agree with all these concepts.
Cloud Kingdom is my least favorite realm because the people residing there were like puppet masters controlling everyone’s actions, which is weird. It makes it even harder to dislike different characters, even the good ones, because the writers could have wrote them to do it (like Misako leaving Lloyd in a boarding school for evil). I would have loved to learn more about the realm, like what’s their limits and do they really control everyone’s actions, including the villains, and how did they even get the power to do that.
The Royal Family were never really brought up, and I honestly feel like rushing it in like both the Ninja and us never knew existed until season 8. It felt rushed in my opinion. And I did wish they had more complexity, especially on Hutchins.
Okay I can definitely see how Pixal became like a background character only appearing for the plot (sometimes unnecessary). Though Pixal appearing in season 6 seemed good, especially how her being deleted motivated Zane to wish it all away.
Oni Garmadon, yeah I agree. I didn’t like his design at all. And he still lost even when he used that power, so why even put it in to begin with?
For the Yin-Yang Promise, I did felt it was kinda unnecessary. I would have liked it better if Jay and Nya’s relationship shifted during the season for the worst before it gets better. Course the season was short, so that would have made that hard.
I’ll admit, some of the concepts were a little off (especially Oni Garmadon) but the others did seem pretty good. It just needed a better execution than how it was.

My opinion of these concepts:
Cloud Kingdom: I actually really like that Realm and even though it is a little bit strange that someone writes all the characters actions, I still like it.
Royal Family: A wasted concept. I forgot they existed.
Digital P.I.X.A.L.: Because of this I forgot in S5, S6 and DotD that she exists.
Oni Garmadon: It looks hilarious and is really forgetable.
Yin-Yang Promise: One of my favorite parts of March of the Oni. I always wanted so see this and it didn't dissspoint. I loved the scene in which Jay asked Nya to be his Yang. I am kinda dissspointed that this story didn't continued in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu.

Esspasly the royle family ' seriously hutchen even had his own manifigere ' they intreduce the royle family at the first épisode of season 8 and they killed them in the second

This question has bothered me since the end of season 9. How does Ninjago's goverment now that the Emperor and Empress have been murdered and Harumi sacrificed herself to save that family.

Extremely controversial opinion:
I actually like the idea of a love triangle between Jay and Cole and Nya as I love character drama. However, I didn't want the execution to be so out of the blue, so out of character, and just downright ugh.

If I was Jay when Cole walked in I wouldn’t just randomly attack him for no reason. And I’m pretty sure Jay in his real character wouldn’t either. Also I have no idea why Cole just randomly decided to steal Nya, like usually he would work it out because Cole is one of the nicest ninjas.
@@blazer3756 Cole was very out of character there, I don't think he ever would have done that. And "Don't tell Jay." Excuse me? What? Jay I feel like realized what had happened on the train when PIXAL told him and that's why he attacked, but how it continued was just...ridiculous, honestly, the blue or black wire? They're WIRES. Overall, I feel like the concept could've been executed way better than it was.
btw its too early for marriage, in season 9 they confirmed that the ninja are still teens
Maybe perhaps the Yin-Yang promise is kinda like a promise ring?
But yeah, I was a little shocked when they said that in season 9.

I think Garmadon in his Oni form should've looked like the Oni from the illustration of Mystake's story
Does anyone notice how the commissioner has been working on a model boat since season 6? In season 8 and 11 he can be seen doing it but I'm not sure about other season's.
Maybe he's just fixing up the paint here and there?
It takes precision and technique to make sure every molecule of the boat is painted.
One of the ninja (cant remember who) actually commented on this in season 11:
"And how are you always working on that model boat, but NEVER make any progress?" or something like that.

The cloud kingdom was hands down a disaster, they literally should have just made it another realm as opposed to where destiny is written. I just pretend that episode didn't happen and that they simply retrieved the sword of sanctuary from the top of the mountain.
The royal family should have gotten more background info (and the writers shoudn't have said that the ninja didn't even know about the royal family even though they literally had a giant palace in the middle of the city).
Digital PIXAL was great in Season 4 - it was a loving reunion after they were kidnapped and her body was scrapped, and she helped him overcome his identity crisis after he rebuilt himself, didn't have all his memory, and considered him only a replica. However, in Seasons 5-7, she basically became a plot convenience, barely showing up for a few seconds at a time as a computer program to do mundane things like rolling dice, scanning the surrounding environment, downloading information, etc. (and even then Zane could have done whatever she did). She was much more useful as a computer program in season 8 as she was basically the ninjas' digital ally, performing all sorts of tasks like controlling their vehicle, coordinating their missions, and communicating with everyone., but even then they could have easily not included her and it wouldn't have changed the plot. Would have loved for PIXAL to return as a physical character in season 5 (Zane & Borg rebuild her after chen is defeated), and she becomes Samurai X before hands of time (taking the mantle from Nya).
I don't think much of Oni Garmadon, and I consider the Yin-Yang promise equivalent to an engagement.
Well in season 13 jay said: no no, this is nya, my Yang. And then nya said: it means we belong together. So they kinda explained the yin-yang promise.
Garmadon being an Oni brought me a lot of questions. In season 1, Wu explains Garmadon was bitten by The Great Devour, and that's what made him evil. But in season 10, Garmadon is revealed to be an Oni. If Garmadon is an Oni, does that mean the Great Devour was an Oni? How does this even work?

But the thing is: In other seasons people talked about Misako and Garmadon being MARRIED. The season 6 was also about Nya and Nadakhan getting MARRIED. So I don't think Jay and Nya are married, but the Yin-Yang promise is more like, what we would call a 'promise ring'. But idk
The yin-yang promise is basically the ninjago equivalent to engagement, if all went well, it would eventually lead to marriage.
I think Cloud Kingdom is kinda dumb as well. I didn't really like the scene where they were in the room with that monster.

I figured oni garmadon would look something like overlord garmadon
If I was one of the people who made Ninjago I would’ve had the Royal Family be called the Jade Family (Jade as in it would be the last name) and they would be like nobles or very rich and influential people that they could be compared to royalty rather than being actual royalty
And personally I’ve always viewed Cloud Kingdom as they just write scripts of things that will happen but it’s up to the “characters” how they execute it
Hell, would've been cool if the Oni themselves looked like that, or just the Omega, like if he had a titan set: Lloyd and Garmadon vs the Omega. Like the Oni Titan set from 2018
garmadon technically showed lloyd how to beat “fight without fighting”
What I thought of Cloud Kingdom was that it was a joke breaking the fourth wall about the show being written by writers.

I think writers of destiny had some potential. If Thenwick was more developed, he could be a very interesting, powerful villain.

I think that there was no point in making the cloud kingdom because why would they make the villains do bad things and why did they make lloyd open the serpentine tombs and if this is true does it mean that they control sensei yang because he was evil as well even tho he is like my favourite character also do they control the ghosts because thats weird and if they do control everything why cant they just make everything good
I kinda don't want Nya and Jay to get married because the ninja feel like they are in their late teens. Having 2 ninja get married makes them seem like adults tho, which kinda ruins ninjago for me.

But black shadow, there are many fan fiction writers that find the royal family useful. I have read many stories where harumi is good, and her and Lloyd have kids and they live in the palace with their parents. I have read one story where harumi is a warrior, and her dad is bad. So they are useful for some.

One thing now is crystallized I mean I get you bring some old villians back makes sense but when harumi is resurrected why weren’t old ones also resurrected I mean also I get mr f is basically mr e 2.0 but just call him mr e and explain he’s rebuilt and dead villians just do what day of the departed did and remember that was supposed to be a season so I think all old villians would work to make pythor make the serpentine fight the ninja again they still seem to resent them still just not as much also for living villians what about the kryptarium inmates just switching at least some how about the skulkin or how about the hands of time I could see them falling out of the time stream thing around then as wu got out before them or the overlord fishes them out or something. What about klaus he is a ghost and is on the run he just has been Mia scince season 6 and I think in a book the sky pirates went to the prison as they were released so have them help to maybe also nadakahn maybe not for him or actually the overlord tricks him to always being subsurviant to him and that’s really it but still missed potential as it could of been a better final massive battle just that the overlord actually corrupted all the other realms first as the oni invading gave him a gateway to do so

Granted, I think the impact of the Royal Family lived on in Harumi. So while the concept wasn't executed to its maximum effectiveness, I do think it was executed quite well overall.
I think they did the best they could considering the fact that the royal family had no mention prior to SOG. I kinda wish they gave the royal family more explanation though, like why are they only now being mentioned? How were they not relevant before?
