This was by far my favorite ranking video I've seen thus far. Absolute top tier list with great reasoning and cohesion behind the order. I love all the little details from the novel integrated into each character that I didn't know before. Even the NPCs got praise and some definitely deserve to be playable in future games from their feats. I love the fakeouts too like there was no way you were going to put Zhang Liao at #25 lol Xu Chu getting his justice as a top tier warrior, I am so glad you put him up so high because he was known to be Cao Cao's most cherished general for a reason! I'm very surprised you put Zhang Fei above Guan Yu because of Guan Yu's steller dueling and battlefield record, but I do get the reasoning behind Zhang Fei going toe to toe with Lu bu in his prime for 50 bouts. Guan Yu even remarked himself that Zhang Fei's arm strength was greater than his own during practice sessions. That and I had no clue he dueled Zhang He 3 times and beat him every time! Got to agree with it honestly. By the way, these intros have no right going this hard haha

I might have pushed Xu Chu and Zhao Yun a bit higher but it's really tough at that point, I think the rest is correct imho. I have always seen the three brothers in a way that Zhang Fei is physically the strongest one, while Guan Yu is the most skilled one as a warrior out of three with impressive might to himself and then Liu Bei to actually being the smartest leader out of them with enough skills to carry himself on the battlefield without having his brothers strength, but instead having the loyalty and strength of others around him.
Another great list You should do best stage maps in game like which Hu lao gate in game was your favourite and which yellow turban map was best in which game ect
Some good choices some things to add though Gan Ning was seriously ill at Ji Ling but still participated so kudos for him for that, u also forgot Gan Ning's awesome night raid which caused massive havoc in the Wei ranks. Sun Jian at 16 thought Pirates killing several of them, also heard it was actually him who killed Hua Xiong but novel and game wise given to Guan Yu. Zhao Yun killed Xiahou De, Cao Cao's standard Barrer and took one of his famous swords. Dian Wei didn't throw lances he threw throwing axes his main weapon was a twin halberd that was stolen by Hucheur or whatever his name was. Lu Bu would easily be number 1 just facts glad to see Xu Huang finally get a mention.
Probably the most agreeable lists on youtube. Though I think a lot of people (especially from China) would disagree placing Zhao Yun #5, but it seems like the list is an amalgamation of the novel, the game, and history so it does make sense. Imo pretty much anyone #10-#2 are interchangeable. Fun fact: Yan Liang is generally placed in #7-#4 in Chinese lists, I'm honestly surprised Hua Xiong got to become a playable character but not Yan Liang

Why not add the characters "historical feats" along with the novel and the game portrayal to make it a much more comprehensive and fleshed out list? Also why is Zhou Yu on this list? and at number 38? Sure he was a genius strategist for the Wu kingdom but you didn't mention any duals or officers he slew or any feats of strengths? Han Dang at 32 with no worthy accomplishments or feats of strengths? I'm sure Lu Bu's most able commander Gao Shun could find a place in this list Cao Hong - Cao Zhang - Liao Hua - Yan Liang - When Chou - Ji Ling should be playable characters Xu Chu is in desperate need of a character/Weapon revamp....Make him a beast like Dian Wei
Zhou Yu for in game representation and if you read about Zhou Yu he was on the battlefield alot before he became a commander type, definitely more than just a strategist Historical feats are tough because Sun Jian has historical feats that have been taken by Guan Yu which means like Hua Xiong gets killed twice which doesn't make sense, so I did a little consideration with the historical feats, but because Im also including 50 people, it was a much smaller analysis and quick facts kind of thing Han Dang didn't have anything notable in the book, but dudes a scrappy guy and ik in the novel he was a competent fighter, the games hurt him Gao shun didnt have anything too notable in the book. In the novel Zhang Fei thought Guan betrayed Liu Bei and tried killing him, but Guan Yu held him off and didn't even really try just matrixed him while saying he didn't betray him.
I think lu bu number one but Zhang Yung i read three kingdoms say Zhang Yung number twos but is solid cao cao interesting i got i think has games dynasty warriors origins awesome

He only ends up dying because he was sick with dysentery and tried to fight anyway, then realized he couldn't which resulted in some rando getting a lucky shot. That said, even though his death is lame, he still rides on and goes out like a boss after finding a big shady tree to sit under. As far as being on Zhang Liao's level, they're both equally cracked. Zhang Liao only seems higher level because he was running with Lu Bu before Cao Cao picked him up

Even protected the body of the concubine who had the Prince. More vital is Fei. Zhang Fei is easily number 1. He fought Lu Bu for 50 bouts before his brothers got involved IN THEIRBFIRST FIGHT. (Caps for emphasis.) Their SECOND fight, he fought Lu Bu for 100 bouts before BOTH SIDES recalled their fighters for fear of losing one of them. Let's not get into standing alone on a bridge facing a million men and sent them running with a single shout. Lu Bu didn't command that level of fear. Not even close. Even Huan Yu said Fei was better then he was.

I hope I dont come across patronizing or anything I just genuinely love to learn about the characters and if people have information that I dont have I would love to read the same information 😁😁
@TheNightowlGaming my sources for my info are the books. The 4 book set called Three Kingdoms. Attributed to Luo Guanzhong. In the books, yes Fei and Lu Bu had 2 fights. Second was more legit then the first and neither won. No, Fei didn't fight the million man army. His "bloodlust was so high" it scared Cao and his entire army causing them to flee. Yes the dust stirred by horses helped Cao to believe there an ambush. But even without that, he had ZERO intent on sending ANYONE to fight Fei. In the same books, Guan Yu admits Fei would best him in a duel. Now to Zhou Yun.....the same battle where Fei stood on one side of the bridge is the battle Yun rode alone agaisnt a million men to rescue the Prince. Yun and Fei almost fought due to Fei believing Yun had joined Cao. In the books, it talks about how Yun killed many on his way in and out of that. Guan Yu has also praised Zhao Yun for his prowess on the battlefield. So all told, according to the books....the top 3 should be Zhang Fei in 1st. Lu Bu in 2nd, then a tie for 3rd with Guan Yu and Zhao Yun. However, I would even give Yun the advantage and rate him over Guan Yu. Amd Guan Yu is one of my favorite people from that Era and in the games.

And if I may, you should add to Pang De. You need to add how he always carried his coffin into battle with him. I'm sorry but ANYONE who carries their coffin into battle is an automatic badass in my book. In the books, he was KNOWN to do this. Again, caps for emphasis not yelling at you lol.

I would argue that Guan Yu should be above Zhang Fei, but otherwise I don't mind the list that much. I highly doubt anyone disagrees with Lu Bu being ranked at number 1, he fought some of the strongest people you'd ever see and was absolutely terrifying to most people who had to fight him. There's a reason why even though Guan Yu is called the "God of War", people get more scared of Lu Bu, the man is a living monster.
For sure, the feats Zhang Fei on paper I think gives him the edge, in a 1 v1 duel like I said, I think Guan Yu is much more skilled but overall Id eek it out to Fei, glad you liked it!
Lu Bu, the strongest warrior of the entire realm and a highly notorious back stabber who is prone to betraying his masters just for the heck of it. If Lu Bu gets to be the Emperor, he would prefer to go all over the world to fight everyone while he lets his underlings concentrate on civil affairs.

Nr.1 Zhang Liao. My man did not die like they showed in the game. He was in his 60s and died of ilness. Nr. 2 Lu Bu. Nr. 3 Zhao Yun. Nr. 4 Zhang Fei (total piece of shit, but he was a great fighter). 5. Guan Yu.
