    Hi is it accurate? Because I have tried many body compositions scales and no way they are accurate

      Hi Ahmad. On many Tanita models, tanita as a company themselves admit that there can be an error rate of up to 8% on their scales.
      There are many factors that can affect accuracy such as, if you take readings when exerted or if you have had caffeine beforehand etc.
      I use them as a guideline to measure progress and ensure I take readings around every 6 weeks, first thing in the morning, before my training session, fasted and before I’ve had coffee. I see consistency when doing so but I appreciate they are not going to be 100% accurate. I also don’t use this model myself. I use DC-430 as this model is linked to the PC in my gym and can be synced with my Technogym MyWellness account.
      I only use the BC-545N when off site with clients.
      There’s not many accurate methods of measuring body composition in my opinion. I think the only method I know of that are much more accurate than tanita scales are dexa scanners but these are not as easily accessible, as affordable or as portable.
      I always say that it doesn’t really matter if not 100% accurate, as long as you keep the means of tracking progress consistent then it should help you check progress over time.

    Hi does it have an athlete mode? If so, how do I select it ?

      Hi,
      yes. It has an athlete mode. After you put your age in you will see three figures. A man, woman and what looks like a sprinter. The sprinter is the athlete mode. You use the arrow buttons to choose man, woman or man athlete or woman athlete.
      It is covered in the video, around 15 minutes 40 but I appreciate the sound quality isn’t great.

    Why this scale always show such a drastic reduction of body fat? It shows 13% for me but I know I'm around 20

      I can't say for sure with the knowledge and experience I have of this particular product. I think it's all relative to various scenarios and there are probably a lot variables that you would have to consider. Sorry but I don't know enough about you and your background to give an accurate opinion. I don't know what leads you to think that you are around 20% body fat. Are other methods or products telling you this or is this a hunch based on how you look and feel?
