One time I was running late for work. My windshield was a frozen mess. I thought I wonder if a paper towel run under hot water would work. Well it did. The ice melted perfectly. I thought "wow, I'm a genius" I stood back to marvel at my amazing work. Only to watch the nice layer of hot water instantly freeze to a perfect ice layer 2x as thick as the one I wiped off.... needless to say, this made me even more late to work.
I noticed before you said the car has AC, it may be worth checking the AC drain tube is exiting the vehicle properly and is not kinked or blocked with sh*t It is situated just behind the engine bay roughly along the centre line of the car. When the AC is operating it should vent any condensation outside the car just behind the engine. If it can’t it will start to fill up the heater box with water and eventually spill out in to the footwells. This causes condensation inside the car
