The wonderful world of Classic Cars... in this case the Jaguar XK 120 roadster... Back in the 1950s Sir William Lyons' daughter Pat was racing the hills of Europe with her new husband, Ian Appleyard - and what a time it was in their Jaguar XK120 roadster. The XK 120 Jaguar roadster NUB 120 is the most famous XK120 of them all. Completing the Alpine Rally making the fastest time at the Col du Vars hillclimb and the fastest time in a flying kilometre speed test on an Autostrada. In 1951 the Appleyards and NUB 120 Jaguar XK120 won the Tulip Rally, the RAC Rally and again completed the Alpine Rally without losing a single mark
In this feature Michael enjoys time with his mum as she remembers her triumphant rally days. They also headed to the XK70 Jaguar Festival, run by the XK Club at Shelsey Walsh Hill Climb, where she enjoyed a day with Michael at the iconic hill climb in her legendary car, the Jaguar XK120 affectionately know as NUB ( NUB120 ) .
