Great car. I remember taking a "jaunt" with a friend who owned an XK 150 back in the 1960's. I was tucked into the rear seat well while another close friend occupied the passengers seat. It was an experience I will never forget.
Outside of the persona presented in the series, I'd say The Hamster probably has the best taste in cars. This is beautiful, congrats Hammond, I love it!

My Grandad used to race in his XK120 well into his 90s. Glad to see Hammond also appreciates the XKs. I'd love to own one myself some day, but I suppose I'll put up with the matchbox version for now.

I am unbelievably grateful for the folks that have the ways and means to restore these classics. I have a special place in my heart for Jaguars, especially the XK150 and E-Types.

Love what you've done there, totally with you on the full bumper delete, it just makes all classic cars look so much cleaner and pure 🤩 although I love the idea of leather straps somehow the one at the front seems slightly overkill to me, but I'm sure in person it looks incredible!
You'll never get cold in this. The engine heat burns through the dashboard into the small interior. Nice on cold winter days. But less desirable in the summer.

Yes, English luxury cars have never been the most reliable or the most well thought-out, but definitely the most beautiful! An Italian could be jealous of the Jaguar and that's what I say as a German!👍
Italy had their own beauties as well. Yes, I know what Enzo said about the E-type, and he was mostly right, but still. Italians are the kings of car design. And pre-war French, too (Delahaye, Delage, Talbot, Avions Voisin, Bugatti etc.)
The old Moss transmission was a challenge and a pleasure to work -- I enjoyed it on a 64 XKE I had back in the mid 60s. Driven the 120 and 140 but not the 150.
@@tww1491 I find newer vehicles without a challenge are totally numb and devoid of any personality. I’ve personally never driven a car older than 1981 however I’d love to get behind the wheel of some older stuff.

Lovely car, great colour and for what it's worth I happen to like the boot straps... Jags to me are like grandchildren, I've had my own but now I prefer others to have the responsibility of looking after them and I'll enjoy them vicariously through vids like this.

I share your enthusiasm for straight sixes, Richard. In the late '60s I owned a brace of three-liter big Healeys, a '59 and a '60. One BR Green with a roll bar and triple SUs which were a biotch to balance but sang so sweetly when they were on form and the other champagne beige, nothing special apart from being one of the most beautiful sports car designs ever. Sir Donald knew his stuff. Your 150 looks beautiful and that engine sounds delicious.

Modern manual gearboxes aren't as nice feeling as older gearboxes esspecially old British manuals. They are so tight and crips it's mental.
Agreed, I even liked the Moss gearbox in old Jags, you needed real driving skill, but get the changes right gave a lot of satisfaction.
