You notice John is speaking from the top of his head , he is not reading it from a paper, that's passion he has

He glances down from time to time ... but far far less than most speakers in a situation like that. The effort to connect with his audience enhances the message enormously.

Statesman indeed. The world is a lesser place with the loss of John; a man of huge compassion and foresight.

Oh John, what would you think now. I had never heard this until today if only it was made more public back in the day... We desperately need a 'Denver Shift' today.

I am afraid only a real wonder could help in these days. All the trees are dying around but they are only talking of coronavirus... what a crazy world!

A JD shift today and everyday!. Fabulous words from a fabulous human being. As meaningful today as in 1981.

He is very much with us in mind and spirit I listen to his music on msst days, it refreshes my soul, and I am satisfied that John Denver was a truly inspired person . His articulation, purity and clarity of speech together with his unassuming nature elevates him, in addition to his exceptional voice, messages delivered, song writing beauty he was a God sent prophet. In my teenage years I had this wish: it was to write to John's management team telling them that I was planning on visiting the States and if it would be possible for me to meet John and maybe have a coffee with him. Alas, it never happened because I did not write that letter to make that request. I should have done so, who knows he may may very well have replied : "Come Jack, It will be my pleasure to meet you and have lunch". Imagne!

In his speech in 1981 John talks about separation which is STILL the problem among us human beings around the world.
Three years ago when my son was ten years old he asked me: "WHY are there BORDERS? WHO needs it? And why don´t we all speak the same language? THAT would make it so much easier to communicate with each other!"
    He is so right!!

It is so much easier for power-hungry and money-hungry people to operate within smaller political spheres. It is far easier to gain control of a small or medium-sized country than it is to control the entire world. Separateness is highly beneficial to the greedy and the devious. They, unfortunately, are driven to succeed at any cost.

I think John had a wonderful goal and an amazing will to pursue it. Sad most people care only about themselves never looking to the future of the human race. Only caring about how rich they can get. This must-have disappointed John greatly.
