What I loved about Lara's cover is that she did it absolutely effortlessly with no strain or hesitation and in 1000% control, beautiful. Another thing I liked was that she made it completely her own and didn't even try to copy Whitney, she didn't need to because her style is more than enough and perfect. A thought: Lara can cover other singer's songs like from Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand and sing them as good if not better than they did but I guarantee you, that if they covered a Lara Fabian song they couldn't do what she does and defiantly could not do it better than Lara does. Sorry, that's just reality, the way it is! Lara practices and vocalizes her voice a few hours a day since the very beginning when she was just a teenager. I heard in an interview that Barbra Streisand said she never practices or vocalizes her voice ever, she sometimes goes months without singing or vocalizing. She says she might might practice in the car on the way to the studio to record an album or when she goes on tour. This is why Lara is the pro and IMHO the best singer because she has the passion and the love for singing that Barbra and Whitney just don't or didn't possess. Barbra rather be an actor than a singer and Whitney, back in the day, would rather party and have a good time than take care of her gift. That's why Whitney eventually lost her voice and Barbra is presently loosing hers. This will never happen to Lara!
I knew she could sing the song. I've heard her sing it a million times, but I've never seen the performance.
