nice, but where do you put the mail? I'm assuming this is one of those neighborhoods where USPS drives around in a truck, so the mailbox still has to be near the road.

Why don't I ever see sidewalks that lead from the mailbox straight to the front door?
Good question. Most people get out of their cars on the driveway and not the street so that's probably the main reason.
