I personally would have put in a walkway from the driveway and not from the sidewalk. Love how the theme of flower beds is repeated in all beds!

A big challenge with this project is the style and color of the house. It's just not aesthetically pleasing. But maybe I'm used to 1970's Southern California ranch-style tract housing. And that old wooden fence is a total eye-sore. But considering these limitations, your design looks awesome. In my region, I have four Home Depots within a 6-mile radius. Between them, I can find about 80% of the plant material I need. Luckily, I also have four nurseries within a 10-mile radius. Although plant material has gotten more expensive in the last few years, I can still save a lot of money by going to Home Depot.

Hello, thanks the ideas.
My understanding is its important to keep plants/bushes away from the sides of the house to protect the house’s foundation and to keep excess moisture away from the walls.
Have you heard of this recommendation?
You’re welcome and yes. This is one of the main reasons I encourage people to bring the beds out and create more space for plants. I don’t mind grass but I am a big fan of large landscape beds to create interest and curb appeal for home. Check out some of the other videos as I talk about that tip quite a bit. @@BobbyKDesigns _ I'm her neighbour. I'm furious. She stole a yard of my land. She built a pergola above her fire pit just to obscure my view of the street. The chain link fence along the boundary line is an eye sore and the motorhome now sits on the street in front of my yard. just kidding.

Love your ideas BobbyK. How about taking out a straighr path to the sidewalk? Our house has one of those and it looks like a runway to me. I would like to take out the straight path and make a gentle curving one to the driveway. One big difference from the example in your video is that our house is about 40 feet from the sidewalk and is very tall. Any ideas?

Bobby- watching many of your videos as I just came across them. Loving them! Perhaps you can do one in the future with some various home ideas. How to beautify a ranch and cape and colonial etc. Perhaps that would give we viewers a way to really "see" our home in your designs. Also- any free landscape design apps you recommend? I love how real-time allows for pulling the dots to set shape- but not really seeing anything too useful for free out there.

What software do you use? I tried downloading software on my ipad but it's pricey, and I no longer have photoshop. I will email you my outside, it's alot of space and i've lost the want to do it lol!

@@BobbyKDesigns is the design over a photo easy to do? I saw you do it on a video and it looked easy, but ya never know. I used Punch before and had to spend a lot of time recreating the house with doors, windows etc… to make it look realistic. It would take me almost 6-8 hours to do a landscape. Very frustrating.

Hey Bobby! I feel like I found the landscape gold mine for this beginner with this channel 🥰. Question. I live in Florida near the river where these 🐍 like to hang out. Is there any tips or tricks when it comes to landscaping I can use to make them uncomfortable to live near me lol? (I know odd/ different question) Rubber multch , certain plants, smells, etc?
@Sarah A. I'm so glad you found me!! I don't know much about snakes other than I'm scared of them. I'm pretty sure they don't like noise...Here is what I found on google...
1) Replace grass or mulch with gravel. Snakes can't move or hide easily on gravel and other hard surfaces.
2) Remove bird feeders, birdbaths, and other sources of food and water. ...
3) Keep pet food inside. ...
4) Trim bushes and trees. ...
5) Reconsider water features. ...
6) Install snake-proof fencing.

@TheGoodGuise. I know they are out there but I don't use them. I use real time which is pretty affordable.

How do you feel about using black rubber mulch?
@Jason Bryant. For a small area I think it's fine. A few things. 1) It's expensive and doesn't spread well 2) It's not the easiest to clean with a blower because it's light weight and stuff can get in there and stick 3) If used on a large area it looks a little "artificial" Thank you for watching and the comment!
Light pollution is terrible for beneficial insects. At least have the lights off fairly early to give them a chance. Landscape with the ecology in mind!
