  • Flying Teddy's gyro-glider with direction and crash intervention compliments of Peter. Flights were provided at El Mirage Dry Lake. Sorry there is not much sound to be heard. Teddy is providing the tow and Terry is driving the chase car.

    I love how the guy in the right seat calmly applies lip balm shortly after liftoff....

    Great to see, used to do this in Queensland Australia and in Grafton NSW. The Glider is an excellent training tool used far too little, learning to fly this cheap little craft well saves many hours of two seat powered training, particularly in winding up rotors and avoiding hinging etc. We used to make them wind them up by hand though ;)

      We used in Brazil too, it's very easy and cheap.

      There is no engine on this it's a glider and pulled by a truck with a long cable. Thanks for the question

    Seems the rotor needs balancing. Is it still flyin in one piece?

    So, where’s the gliding part?

    • @amtpdb1
      @amtpdb1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is gliding all the time as it is being pulled by a truck. If the cable breaks it will just glide to the ground.

      I'm still here! I left the club as they stopped doing any more flights as the person doing the flight training stopped training. This club was basically selling gyros.

      @@amtpdb1 It was too many people showing up just for the ride. We were promoting this type of aircraft to bring more people to build and fly this type of machine. Unfortunately, we get old and tired and we have to stop this activity because we don't get many newcomers for the Club. I'm still flying my Gyro at 76 years of age.
