I was hoping more for truck tips like saving gas, I was super low once and had to make a delivery a few miles away, I turned one engine off and auto pilot to try and glide as far as possible and make it to delivery then shop for gas 😅
@MozheBoy dead ass I just sat here for 3:35 thinking "this is a really nice montage of tips, music slaps pretty hard too." Changed from right side to left side ear bud and started hearing a voice 😂
Tip 11: Change your Gravity battery when your docked.. your powered when docked so gravity doesn't drop. Tip 12: Your below 15% battery's can be fully drained by putting them in the Mag or core slots.. you got 2 and only need one,so you can switch one out and drain what's left.
Hey, if you're having trouble with space debris. Here are two great tips. 1. Slow down, damage and loss of time is not worth driving quickly through a debris field. 2. In first person, there is a debris signal on the dash. Right of the Speedometer. It will light up when debris is on course for your truck. Navigate accordingly, and you will be fine. Happy truckin', my fellow longhaulers!
Another tip: Always keep an eye out for Salvage beacons (they are marked as a little eye when you pass near them or later with the scanner) You can find a lot of good stuff there that can help you as you are beginning, like a ir filters, gas tanks and good batteries and they are always charged at 100%
You don't need to switch off the suit charger. It only charges the suit after use. The mag lock is one of the slowest energy consumers. Next to your suit charger. I normally don't run with gravity, gravity generator is one of the most power-consuming system. Just take your storagebox put them on the shelf and then open them and they will not float
Just to be safe I turn everything I am not using off :) it is good in practice if nothing else. I have made a habit of always turning the lights off now as well as adjusting the climate control too!
Having to put all the stuff back on the shelves is so dumb. How long would it take a spacetrucker to put netting or bungies in front of those shelves? The actual space station has storage solutions for zero G. Heck planes have solutions to make sure cargo doesn’t shift.
To be fair lads, it is launch. I am honestly suprised at the upgrade on the top tree (won't spoil) didn't expect to be given that. Though I do agree, I'd really prefer to see it added as an upgrade for way later on. Just something to really tack on the QOL stuff for late game. The netting is definitely a good idea
On the map screen, that little window in the top left has a drop-down button that will expand to show you the fuel prices, trade goods prices, and what particular contraband is illegal in each sector. Super useful
Yes it sure is! I may do another video because there are a ton of useful things to know that just aren't introduced in the tutorial. I also have an idea for a video on the specifics of trading commodities as I make more money doing that than hauling the actual freight.
thats the easist one to find.. Big icon that flashes.. so i dont think its true that you have seen new players having trouble with that.. However i do belive that YOU having trouble finding that!.. Next time just be honest
Nice tips bro, can I suggest lowering the music a bit so I can hear you voice. My tip is avoid the lighting storms, those lighting static buffers I got don't last long. I prefer to drive around the storms and avoid docking when the storm is near them. At least till I fully upgrade that part of the space truck.
I'm mostly deaf in my left ear, I had to crank the headphones and the music in the right ear was very distracting. But those were all very helpful tips, thank you.
I'm really struggling with the design constraints of making the ship like a truck, and my own sense of good engineering and design. There should be velcro and duct tape everywhere, ideally in those easy cut spool holders. All the batteries (presuming they would even be required in the first place, as that'd be the first focus of my own iterative design process) would be centralized and ideally in reach of the seat. The central storage needs work too. Strategic use of Neodymium or electromagnets (or both) or at least cargo-straps (a staple of trucking, btw.) are obvious upgrades. That said, there's a lot to like, too. The cabin is wide open, and would be easy to navigate in zero G. The mag-coupling system is intuitive and easy to use, and would, if possible, be an ideal system to use IRL. [brain took a space off moment here, and invented a system which would work in a similar manner... 3 hours lost to invent something I'll probably never get to prototype, much less produce!] All told, I'm torn. I'm hoping QOL and balance updates will alleviate a lot of the issues, but I'm feeling like cutting into 'good practice' (like requiring station owners to clean their local space up a bit) in favor of providing gameplay elements doesn't turn out to be as fun as if those elements just worked right on their own. It always feels less like getting ahead, and more like catching up... Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way about this title that I do.
Turning off Maglock Controls is useless for one simple reason : when they are not actively being used (as in towing or being docked), they do not draw any charge on their respective power cells.
Maglock only drains when you're pulling trailers, when you're docked the station provides power to all your systems so there's no drain on the maglock batteries. So turning off the maglock controls is genuinely useless.
I hate driving in 3rd person but I'm good in first person great a dodging all the little rocks, as far as I can see maglocks don't use power unless in use. Because when not in use it says 0% used an hour
These tips were very helpful thank you! I will say a tip of my own for video making, when you gave tip number 2 and said you can't really show it here, instead you could have just kept explaining and then after recording that part, you could have later driven to a spot with some debris and recorded that footage for 30 seconds so you could give a visual example about what you're talking about and edit it into the video. It will make the video much more professional and less awkward and be more helpful for people who don't get what you mean.
When you place the boxes in the rag and open them, they will stay there when grav shut down or you crash into something. And the stuff is still protected
I believe its from recording in split audio mode. It should have been in both sides but more so in the left and the gameplay audio more in the right. I am looking into better ways to record. Thanks for pointing this out!
Never flipped a breaker or tripped a breaker while changing those cards. I have had oxygen issues with a filter that had run out, 3 filters fine, one was done, but oxygen wouldn't build until I removed that one.
This was a very useful and helpful video and well presented but please sort your audio channels out for recording. It is really difficult to concentrate with just your voice in one ear. Especially as ive got an infection in that ear atm haha

This is literally the gameplay of Star Trucker, and none of these are optional hidden tips. 😂 By the way, this is tip number eleven, the only real tip of the video. 🤣 Tip #11: Disable Auto-Assessment while driving in a straight line. This way, you can travel without consuming engine fuel. ⛽
yeah my issue is i was struggling to afford air filters and power cells and died form lack of o2, and then i had 5000 in bank debt and still couldn't afford basic parts, so i tried to do a job to make some money but once again died from no O2 before i could deliver the load. so now im over 11000 dollars in debt and still cant afford parts to keep my truck running. i feel like im stuck in a loop of taking a job to pay off debt and then dying before being able to finish it.

I'm playing it on series s on game pass, should be "free" if you have game pass
@@NoahsArk999 one x not series x
I wanted to give this gave a try but after I spent too much time trying to dock and how the game has no strafe..It's a hard pass.
It doesn't take too much time to dock. If you're having trouble just drive up to it head on and spin around. Most of the time I put the port right in my left or right window and than spin from there.
More like energy cell replacement sim
It can certainly feel like that! Lol. Once you get the energy management down and have some cash to afford the good batteries it gets much easier!
Most of your tips are just things that are straight up on your screen
Music is WAY to loud
Thank you for letting me know!! I have been refining the audio each and every video and I think all of my more recent uploads sound much better.
This is literally the gameplay of Star Trucker, and none of these are optional hidden tips. 😂
By the way, this is tip number eleven, the only real tip of the video. 🤣
Tip #11: Disable Auto-Assessment while driving in a straight line. This way, you can travel without consuming engine fuel. ⛽
For debris field, i follow the NPCs they’re pathing is good
yeah my issue is i was struggling to afford air filters and power cells and died form lack of o2, and then i had 5000 in bank debt and still couldn't afford basic parts, so i tried to do a job to make some money but once again died from no O2 before i could deliver the load. so now im over 11000 dollars in debt and still cant afford parts to keep my truck running. i feel like im stuck in a loop of taking a job to pay off debt and then dying before being able to finish it.
Ouch that sounds painful :(
@@hugmuffinzz6559 idk know what to do, I feel like I need to restart the game
Did you end up restarting?
upgrade from cardboard boxes bro is broke
I kind of just collect them as I run across them but you're right, I am overdue to buy some of the bigger containers!
Dumb question is there like a cargo net thing you can buy to keep your shit on the fucking shelves
There isn't, but if you put a case on a shelf and open it, it won't fly anywhere. I have another tip video with more useful information here: th-cam.com/video/MUPIjJANxdk/w-d-xo.html
Don’t bother, game is trash.
