Drae, dropping and hooking to trailers isn't always easy lol. I've had to back in off of streets in downtown Chicago, that's a challenge. Biggest challenge I had was the old Canada Post office in Downtown Winnipeg (now the Winnipeg police headquarters). Who had the big idea to put the loading docks indoors....ON THE SECOND FLOOR?!!! To get that one in you had to slide your trailer wheels all the way forward (otherwise the landing gear bottoms out). Go up the ramp. Back in to a dock. Then to leave you had to slide the wheels all the way to the back. (Otherwise the rear of the trailer will hit the ceiling)
@snaprifice lol ya, I'm a second generation trucker. One could say I was born for the job. My adoptive dad was a trucker and so was my biological dad, lol. Now, I'm in college trying to major in Logistics and supply chain management. Figure with my background, it will be a good fit. One day I want to get a good gaming PC to run American Trucking Simulator. My laptop handles it ok, but it does get a little laggy.
You think that's tough? We had to drive 7tons (quite large trucks with a bed) with trailers on the streets of Japan. Literally our tires taller than the cars. And somehow people still thought it was a smart idea to run red lights in front of us. There were some cases of people crashing into our vehicles to then sue or complain, since the US Military would pay out a lot and easy to keep peace. And it was hard to refute since 99% of the time the driver really didn't see the person. But sometimes they had normal car escorts that then acted as witness.
