- Welcome back to Star Trucker. In this episode of Star Trucker, I'm still poor and still struggling to be a successful star trucker. I focus mostly on obtaining my vitals but we also explore deeper into the cosmos and experience the horrors of electric charges and massive asteroids. I hope you enjoyed this episode of Star Trucker, thanks for watching and liking.

LMAO you really drove right over a weight station to go to the furthest one away
not even 1, there were 2 weigh stations there. he decided to go to the single most far away one haha
He was to busy worrying about oxygen
Classic Drae
In other news, Drae panics and makes bad decisions…
Why have one they flying
One tip: To save little power, you can first store you items in boxes, put them on shelves and right click on them to open them, it will lock them in place, then you can turn off gravity generator to save power and boxes will remain inside shelves neatly :D
And this whole time I've been cramming all my boxes into the airlock... 😅 thanks for the tip!
Can't we instead pull up the stairs ?
Dark souls meet snow runner
wait really?
@@lechking941 works fine for me :D
Just put the boxes on shelves and right click to open them, they will stay after you turn off gravity.
Also, if you wanna take a box, you have to close it ofc.
Anyway, it works 100%
One tip I would say is familiarize your self with the dashboard, there are a lot of things you're asking about in the video that the dash will tell you. Like the meter just to the left of the gauges that show your static build up and how many good shock pods you have. Also, the left and right screens have other pages you can tab over to with info on you filter efficiency, hull/upgrades health, and which ucc's have failed. If they have a flashing red light, they're trying to tell you something is bad
I really do love watching Drae being the worst trucker in the galaxy. Its comedy gold.
He's worst in every game. I mean that only in good way. Though he still can't beat Master of Incompetence: Chance805, he's at 1600+ deaths in Elden Ring DLC.
Imagine this: day off work, rainy day, warm food, and than this pop up...cant be any greater that this
Imagine this: sick with the cold, blistering hot outside, restaurant got your order wrong and you didn't notice till you got home, stuck behind slow drivers of course both times getting food, then this video pops up. At least there's been one good thing today; Thx Drae!
Day off work ain't you lucky. Even on my days off work I have to qork
This was supposed to be a game about space trucking. Instead they made the hardest survival game ever for some reason.
Yep, started on the recommended level, drove fast, didn't usually hit anything, still everything always broken and cells empty.
L dev
pay the game for make you more suffering
I modified the game settings and it was far less punishing and much more enjoyable 👍🏽
Let your suit station finish the lower batteries. Avoid wasting full ones on it. Also, when you crate is shelved, open it to "lock" it in place.
This. Suit station is the best use for low charge batteries.
Tip on the shops, you can right click your crates and see their contents and sell them from there. No need to remove stuff from crates before selling!
Thank you! I didn't know that.
Especially useful since you will cause damage trying to set them down...
I dunno if you noticed in the end but the gold star is the current job and silver for others. when you take a basic job it'll overwrite a quest job as the active job and be the gold star.
Drae, make sure you look at the expected delivery, and estimated times when taking on loads, you would think that you can take any job and complete it as long as you don't faff around but I got screwed at least 3 times before I started taking note before accepting a job.
Barrow's quest's lead to you getting a smuggling container where you can store contraband that can't be detected, or you can use it as another storage spot, I use it for big items, it's kinda glitchy but it works!
Star Truckers. A game about changing batteries, and sometimes you get to be a trucker.
Draeee as some one that has their cdl DO YOUR VEHICLE INSPECTIONS lol you gotta make sure your not gonna die in the middle of your haul
I was mildly worried Drea was not going to be doing anymore star trucker. Thank you very much!! this made my sunday
Haze Way is currently bugged for multi trailer hauls... Save before you enter and don't save until you leave.
Saving IN Haze Way will disconnect the last two trailers, and they'll follow you through the gate at bad angles, reconnect during gate travel, and destroy your truck and trailers.
The solution I found is to disconnect from your trailer, fly a little bit away, save, then reload. Your trailers will be reconnected to each other.
If you are too close, the physics may yeet the trailers in a random spin.
And he's back doing the transport mission again 😫
Stop focusing on transport Drae. 😂
The whole point of the game is to transport stuff lol
@@loganjay9025 Yes. But Drae needs to upgrade skills more and gather stuff for money to.
@@metern and how do I do that without transporting things? What do you even mean lol
@@drae Instead of transporting the containers, try to explore more. Find side quests and hidden loot 😁. You be surprised at how much you can find.
Follow the moon baby storyline. So worth it.That's where the money/risk side of things are. Good luck. And don't get fines for smuggling.
Now that I have actually played this game, I will never again give shit to Drae about crashing into stuff or using the highways. This game is not easy when starting out. Buy batteries when they are on sale and air filters.
* Slams hand on the table *
MOAR!!!! MOAR SPACE TRUCKIN'!!!!!
The best tip i can give you on making money is take advantage of any salvage beacons you come across. You can make more money gathering salvage an selling it compared to hauling loads.
If you don't mind a bit of spoilers, I've put them farther down in the comment. But if you really wanna make money, I recommend buying any electronics (shock pods, microstabilizers, etc.) where it's cheap, and driving them over to Spark City where they're at a constant markup. You can also do this with air filters (which are considered General Goods) and take on debt for profit since the filters are considered essential.
the yellow region is solar flares, countered by the shutters, and the purple region is "Shimmerstones" which are invisible until you unlock the scanner.
Could you imagine Drae playing Elite from 486 computer era!, Fired on police ship and now wanted everywhere lol
working through recommend difficulty and finding it surprisingly easy, Likely will do a hard playthrough in a few weeks. My view on the in game economy is perfectly balanced but you CAN'T ONLY focus on jobs
A lot of people complaining about power so my tips below:
Picking up salvage and only buying cheap batteries has worked super well for me. I only buy the 100 batteries with the exception of gravity, as it's very quick to change them and the investment for better ones is not worth the time save. Selling batteries at even 1% charge gives you a significantly larger amount of money then at 0% same with other components so not letting them die helps.
Turn air con to minimum required + lights off to save on A LOT of power. Can turn other things off like gravity but it's not worth the hassle for me.
Having spare parts is always worth it. I pick up 1 crate (6) of 100 batteries, 1 crate (6) of 150's (Only if salvaged, Use for Gravity, Oxygen), 1 crate air filters (3), 1 crate for UCC (5) + spare shock, Fuel is optional but not worth the weight IMO.
Worst case scenario so far I used 2 air filters and can't find replacements (Operating on 100,100,50,50 + Spare). 4 Crates of supplies well within starting 200 weight limit and plenty of spare storage for other stuff.
Not even a full truck refit has me worried.
Express tolls are worth it in the cost of saved on Batteries, Fuel and time if it even saves just 1 jump.
This video is like a drop of inspiration in the gray weekdays. Thank you for the positivity!👍👍👍 ! 🥰*
If you want to have an enjoyable experience in this game, create a custom game or you’ll constantly be in the red. Jobs don’t pay for the upkeep of batteries, electronics, air filters, or damage to the rig. It’s a slow death spiral.
i find that not true, i play on the recommended settings and i do just fine. i just make sure i always do a couple of hauls before i do main missions and then its fine. right now i almost have 2 full cases of batteries and one full case of ucc as spare parts, and around 7k money for just in case
@@247gamingnl8 one 3k bill for hull repair and 2 “200” batteries and you’re broke, not to mention when your air filters go out at 3k a pop. But sure, if you’re happy so be it. I’ve got 34 hours into this game, I played 13 hours then reset. Edit: Oh yeah, if you end up needing rescued say, if your air ran out. That’s 5k. You’ll find the air filter death spiral soon enough because when you do need them, no shop will be selling them.
sounds like a skill issue. i have 15k in bank account. i just drive fast and i don't crash
@alexdaman. I've gotten all the upgrades to the ship and they help tremendously. I earned a lot more money buying items low/from salvage beacons and then selling high. Another mistake people make is trying to focus on the side missions that don't pay very much either without building up a cash buffer and having spare items on hand
Trade. Trade as much as you can. Buy cheap, better find stuff in space, sell where it is the most profitable.
Use hauls as extra cash when they lie on your trading route.
I’m subbed to drae, love this series so far and check frequently for a new video. For some reason it seems like this was suppressed I had to go to his channel it wasn’t on my feed anywhere wtf TH-cam?!
So far the most I’ve been able to accumulate is 13k before a huge expense comes up, enjoying the videos keep them coming.👍🏼
Truck enthusiast is to repair your truck and service
Body shop customize your truck
Then, of course, there’s the spray shops
If you go to the truck enthusiast, you could upgrade your truck to help with the coldness and other things
I’m obsessed with this game
SAME HERE!!!🤪
Oh man that was entertaining. Great edits to keep the flow going without having to deal with the 'boring' stuff. I genuinely felt that your narration was talking to me directly. Good content. Nice one.
you can right click the boxes in the shop screen to sell directly from boxes and see whats in them
This is definitely a hard game. I'm further than you in the game and I'm still constantly in the red. Every breaks when I get paid so it's hard to get ahead. It is a charge over time and it gets worse the longer you stay in the static. You can see the charge in the lower left of your dash below fuel gauge. When it reaches the red your fuse will pop saving you. If you didn't know yet when sitting in the chair to your far right there is an emergency break that lets you stop faster. It's probably key bound to a key on your keyboard. On Xbox controller you push in the left joystick. If you are too cold or you are about to suffocate jump in your space suit. You can drive in your space suit. That will give you a few extra mins. There was a weight station right below you. You went to the one on the other side of the sector
Don't want to play but enjoying watching! Keep it up
Sweet another Star Trucker Episode! woo
You don't need a gravity generator, you put the container on the shelves and open it they will stick there, so you will save more on batteries, don't forget to upgrade your truck to save in the long run. Some loot is to be found in space for free loot to sell, they are worth getting. you can look at the map for price changes if you want to trade. The shock pod can be traded for free in exchange for another one in the store
Your at the game were focus on getting Moons quest chain. get her upgrade and you dont have money problems anymore. Get the upgrades from main story quest and you golden.
OH, Drea, you are going to love the Solar Fields ^^
Multi trailer jobs just dont often pay much more than others. You get more bonuses but the bonuses are small
Express gateway prices will vary depending on cargo so yes the more you had the more it cost
Did you know that you can open y our cargo box's in zero g in the shelf racks and you can
A access them while zero g is off
B keep them from floating around like crazy.
With your gas cans, you can throw those into your airlock and they won't bounce around as much.
Basically something to think about to save battery just turn off your zero g
There is a ton of salvages as you haul. Always try to stop for them there is some decent money to be made there
You can go way in debt on necessities. So buy all batteries and air filters when they are cheap. Sell some when they are expensive.
The right side panel has a screen for your oxygen filter status.
The meter near your fuel gauge shows your electrical charge, the higher the number the faster your accumulating it and when the bar is in the red your shock pods can start to pop
Drae, you should watch the market and buy low and sell high. Pharmaceuticals and beer.
Dr. Drae
I wish the game was more transport sim and less of survival/maintenance game. Still pretty fun and might try a new game on custom once I finish my playthrough on recommended settings. If they replaced the whole maintenance mechanic with interior ship upgrades, it would've been better and more satisfying.
"You are loved by us, but we do not grant you the rank of Billy-Bob, Space Trucker."
You need to organize stuff on the shelf so you can turn off your gravity when your driving and only keep your vent on low and look on the map it tells you were things are cheaper
Great way to make even more money, drop stuff on the ground so it loses HP and value. Never thought about that 😂
Selling hardcases!? NOOOO! Hoard the hardcases. Hoard Stuff in the hard cases. Wedge the hardcases in the shelving by putting them in place then opening them. Turn off gravity and save one of the largest power drains. (right click a hardcase in the vendor ui to open it and sell its contents)
dude im loving the game i cant wait to see more
Humility is a hard pill to swallow. 😂
Looking forward to Drae playing on hardcore mode!
To be honest i hope Drae never get successfull, becourse hes struggle make the video fun!
change all the settings to your favor. then the game feels like normal should be
It makes me mad that more trailers doesn't make you more money. Later on in the video you can see a single that goes for almost 5,000. That's literally twice the money than Drae's doubles job.
hey @Drae love the game, i noticed you leave your suit breaker on. it will deplete your batteries even tho the suit is fully charged, you can save on having to replace it as often if you only activate the breaker when it needs charging
I really think they need to do some serious rebalanced. Either the parts need to last longer or they need to cost like 30% of what they cost now. I know some people don't mind juggling around the parts but it shouldn't cost 3000 for an air filter or 500 for the base battery
Edit: or raise the amount you get for jobs
There is currently a bug where the perk bonuses are giving you the expected cash value as XP, and a fixed 25 cash reward. When that's fixed it should be easier. I haven't had any issues, so currently trading is required to make up the difference. I'll be sad when they fix the bug, as I'm using it to power level, but it's definately not intended.
I like playing a custom difficulty, and making the parts wear slower, etc.
@neobigd I understand the custom is the great way to play now. But feel like the low setting should be the default. And have an even lower setting for an extreme casual play. Right now the recommended setting feels too harsh. I think it can drive players away.
@LordOOTFD I personally have done ok, do think sometimes the reckless driving penalty can come out of nowhere. But I haven't struggled too much. I just feel for the recommended setting. It shouldn't feel like you are constantly battling your parts. It should feel engaging. Then the casual should feel like you almost never have to deal with parts. It is almost like they needed one more difficulty mode on the easy side and shift everything over one. Make the current recommended level as challenging. And make the current hardest difficulty nightmare mode.
@@mat99rich They definitely need to improve how the game communicates what the cause of a fine is better. If you head to the shop to sell stuff before weighing in they fine you for littering, instead of trying to offload before weigh in. Speed limits are also unclear as some places drop to 85 out of the highways, while others are 120. Adding a current limit tracker would make it a lot less of a roulette.
You need to trade other goods see where they buy for cheap and sell them for high elsewhere in conjunction with truck deliveries Prices and demand go up and down though so keep that in mind
You can open the containers in the shop to sell items. Instead of pulling them out and dropping them on the floor for decreased hp. 3:44
I would love to see what the other game modes have to offer as well. I imagine that they will give you a very different experience.
also the red flashing lights on your side screens indicates somethings damaged on right side second screen your air filters are bad so your starting to use more air then you can produce
12:22 if you would of looked right below you there was two weight stations there is actully three weight stations in emerald junction
Be very carful if you have to restart your game while you have 3 trailers hooked up as it will cause them to glicth into eachother and destroy the tralier and the trucks hull immediately
From my experience, i say you need to do the missions to get upgrades on your truck. Use the credit limit but dont go over $5,000. When your truck has the sonar scanner from the horn you can go around and collect salvage and make good money. Also, increasing your trucks durability helps a ton.
Ps. Just wait for the solar flares😂
How much longer I have to play after getting to Tom's diner to get the sonar? I just ended my last session there and I'm currently pondering whether or not I should start a new game just to change the docking difficulty on easier, because for me hard docking does little more than add to the tedium and is not fun at all. (And as a side note, I think it is idiotic I cannot change the custom difficulty setting mid-game.)
@@anteshellTom's diner in spark city is not to far in
Just click...with trepidation...Drea...with long train.... I can feel the Insurance man sweating from here!
Hi Drae, keep it up with this friendly greeting to begin.
Makes me like to visit again :)
You need to read the steam community posts, most people recommend playing in custom mode, because in normal mode the truck eats power cell like crazy. 😂
21:19 While I don’t mind “survival” mechanics, I hate when you’re either barely breaking even or always taking a loss. That just takes the fun right out of the game.
He had -3296, sold items for 4000 and then bought an item for 2000. He just didnt pay attention.
At 19:15 he said himself that he's "very poor". Maybe Drae sniff gasoline or something
Your channel is a source of endless inspiration. Thank you for your hard work!🍾🚌🕶
I will always avoid Haze Way unless it is story related also on your dashboard to the left of the fuel gauge there is the shock pod info from what I have discovered is that one will pop when it maxes out in the red
most realistic truck simulator ever. everything is way too expensive, all your money goes into the truck, freight never pays enough.
You doing space marines 2?????
I think they need to balance the money vs consumables. That last trip took 1400 fuel and only made 1500$. Plus the battery power used, plus the filter wear...
You can open the cases while in the store and see the power lvl of them, makes it a lot faster to sell dead batteries
Haven't played this game but just looking at it, it gives me some Cowboy Bebop vibes from that one episode Heavy Metal Queen.
Really want to like this game but seeing all the breakdowns and the whole powercell system, it's gonna need a whole lot off balancing before I buy it!
If you have a damaged air filter but still a working one take out the damaged one oxygen will stop going down for a while
Drae: people were mad that i called them batteries there cells
also drae - continues to call them batteries.
And?? Do people really think/expect to boss video creator around?
You need just in time skill to unlock sour candys jobs. And its $100 per trailer and $50 truck. So a 3 trailers across the map came be expensive but most pay around 10k
Do all the job board missions before the mains.
this has a distinct lack
of SQUIZZLES n GUNS
I’m a truck driver and I promise the best you could do is drive for Swift and nowhere near the east coast
12:23 - where indeed 👀
More please 😊
Drae will you ever make another video about "occupied Mars"?
I think the tolls are based on your cargo?
$50 for the cab, $100 per cargo container.
Bought a expensive gpu > wait for gpu adapter > plug expensive gpu in > plug gpu adapter > power on pc > watch the expensive gpu go up in flames > shut off the pc > watch a drae video(thank you drae for cpnforting me in these times)
Treat your PC as a tool to do a job and not as a decorative ornament. That would allow you to ditch all of those useless adapters that do little more than add more points of failure.
The adapters werent for looks they where to power my gpu it couldnt have worked without them@@anteshell
Plus my pc is usualy hidden so wouldnt make sense
@@somekindofchanel1897 So maybe you plugged wrong power cables in there, then? By any chance, did you use modular cables that didn't come with the power supply?
Place everything in the containers put them on shelves and open them theyll stay there so you can turn grav off
HES. BACKKKKK
I question if drae pays attention to things or if he just plays and panics when something happens that he should know what to do
Love your videos
Deep Purple has entered the chat.
trucking for XP and trading for money. I usually trade electrical and textile items (I made 69,500 today).
i love watching drae do these deliver style games and the fact the he crahsed mutiple times every video is hilarious i think some of them have to be staged right drae cant actually be that clumsy right?
Cells make up a battery and there are no 48v cells. Those are batteries.
Dear devs if you read this, PLEASE bring this to Xbox one. We need some good trucking games and I'd LOVE to buy and play this game on there.
I sadly don't have a PC and I don't have the internet for the newer consoles.
People are wrong! "Battery" used for a cell is that much in common usage both uses are correct!
a lighting Storm.... in Space... yea no, i'm good.
About time! Anyone else streaming this is too far behind haha.
I find the economy in this game to be brutal
