Saw Sam last week on the stage of Noel Coward Theatre in London: He was absoutely brilliant and his whole acting was breathtaking. Do not miss to see him on stage !!!!!!
Sam not only sings this wonderful song to perfection but, he's acting the part at the same time and his expressions are simply perfect too. I will certainly be following his career in the future. A true new talent,Sam will, I'm sure be a very successful actor/singer for many years to come.
I was lucky enough to see his performance this past March just before everything shut down and he was awesome ... wish he would have had the chance to play the role in the movie.

Someone should produce a split screen of Sam Tutty’s performance with Ben Platt’s. The two of them are so emotive when they sing in this role. Impressive performance, I hope to see him perform live someday.
It's a bit unfair to compare anybody to Ben Platt as some are doing here. He is a beast. Were he alive and reaching his peak during the Golden Age of Broadway musicals, his legend would be vast and his haul of award statues would need an 18-wheeler to move. I mean it. Go back and listen to lead male vocal performances from that period. Ben blows all of them away. Now to Sam. Younger singers have a hard time in Broadway musicals because the male singing voice doesn't begin to even knock on the door of being peak until the late twenties. In this regard, Ben Platt is an absolute freak of nature. Sam has a great voice and he uses it well. Importantly, from what I've seen in the few clips, pirated and otherwise, that I've been able to watch, Sam does a fantastic job of acting the part of Evan Hansen. His approach is different than Ben's, but that's what happens when a new actor tackles a roll. What Sam seems to bring is something different yet incredibly credible and sincere. It's a bit underplayed as compared to Ben. And that is something that I would probably enjoy more.
This mans voice is beautiful however I do believe Ben Platt was perfect for the film, his voice is powerful, strong, and moving and just was perfect for a film

I didn't want to be that one guy to ruin this but blindly saying he's amazing while ppl have no notion about what they're talking about gets to me very easily.

Sam is such an underrated Evan. He can sing so good, and his interpretation of the character is just a masterpiece

He is not underrated at all. He is rightly one of the most highly rated performers on the west end right now.

I saw him from the front row and he is the most authentic by far.
Acting comes naturally for him. He is even in character even though he is just standing there.
