Love that you reacted to Helmet! Check out their songs "Milquetoast" or "Just Another Victim" (feat. House of Pain) from the Judgement Night Soundtrack. Super influential band!
From the same album as Unsung, the songs In the Meantime and Ironhead are also amazing. I have the CD (from back when it was first released). I also have the Crow soundtrack with Milquetoast, that's also a nice song.
Digging in the crates I see. Helmet has some legit stuff. Their thing was kind of that break between the riffs. Probably one of my favorite bands from back in the day.
This was one of their more radio friendly tunes. You should do Milquetoast, (preferably the Crow version), Give it, In the Meantime, or Turned Out. There's a plethora of good jams throughout their catalog.
Heres a couple of helmet song: Milquetoast In the meantime Like I care Wilma's rainbow ....you won't regret it...trust me Preston, you'll like them songs I chose for you....I promise...you won't be disppointed....believe me bruh...! Let him know folks and vote which song he should listen to based on the list I provided above.
glad that you liked the song, surprised you weren't more excited about that drop in the beginning. That simple riff is so effective because of the way they build it up before it drops into the rhythm. Cheers!
One of my all time favorite bands! These guys are grinders... it's all about maintaining the beat. If you like this finish, you'll love the bulk of Helmet :)
Hardly anyone ever reacts to Helmet. One of the best bands of the 90's and they have the most insane grooves. Paige Hamilton and John Stanier made an amazing team. Everything they made up to and including Aftertaste was incredible.
Saw Helmet at Tip's in NOLA back in '92. One of the best shows I've ever seen...and then, was introduced to Tool and Rage at Lalapalooza a year later. Changed my life.
I saw Helmet in '91, only my second concert ever, opening up for Faith no More. They were so loud and the club was so small, you couldn't tell what song it was until halfway through, it was all just LOUD! I still need to see BabyMetal from you. Road of Resistance, live in Japan.
man Helmet! This came out when i started getting into metal so love this. Also recommend giving Stuck Mojo a try, especially Rising if you like wrestling for some nostalgia (DDP, Raven) and Clutch, Biohazard(even Biohazard and Onyx collabs), Coal Chamber, Janes Addiction, Rollins Band for some general 90s nostalgia
Just subbed to your channel after watching a ton of your metal reactions and love it! 49 year old metal head here but grew up listening to everything, and still try too. Seems you have reacted to damn near all of Master of Puppets album. Not sure if you have listened to it in its entirety at one sitting but highly recommend. Mad props to you bro! Keep doin what you do.
This song takes me way back...nice, finally somebody reacting to Helmet!! That ending is so fucking epic, full throttle!! Keep up the good work Preston! 🇱🇺
You know, I would've thought he'd be reacting to some more Tool or Metallica, or even Dream Theater. But catching us off-guard with some Helmet?! You're too good to us KTF
ending part is the one of the most mind blowing instrumental jamming in metal music by far and yeah when KTF said "what else?" that was my reaction exactly because i was wondering how it would transition after those cool parts
@@christopherlee74 yea man i just remember it when listen to the rhytme parts of intro.. like damn its that song so ... now i just installed the game :D
Haha...I hear ya. I'm playing "We Happy Few" right now. Then will be "Subnautica". Waiting for "Borderlands 3", but I'm worried about the possibility of paywall loot boxes.
Thank you Preston! Helmet is great!..."Snap Finger Snap Neck", "Wilma's Rainbow". TheWash DC sound has many reps- Jimmies Chicken Shack, Clutch, Fugazi
Good shit dude, they do that shit throughout their songs. Meantime is an amazing album. I'm glad you checked them our dude. You should do it again though.
Man, what a great time for music! MTV actually playing music with bands like Helmet, Soundgarden, NIN, Alice in Chains and STP in heavy rotation. Wish you all could have been there.
Helmet are INCREDIBLY under-rated. I recall hearing they actually blew out the speakers at Madison Square Garden, they were so loud and their wall of sound was so massive.
The year was 1999. I had just downloaded Napster. As I was about to search for the first song to download, only one song came to mind.... Unsung by Helmet. True story.
Dude, high school graduation days flashback. I still have my Helmet binge days, and I'm in my mid 40s. Can't go wrong with picking a random Helmet song if you want to hear more esp off of Strap it On, Meantime, or Betty albums. Was going to mention Prong, but I see they already have several comments. How about some Ministry then?
HELMET ( JUST ANOTHER VICTIM) from the soundtrack of Judgement Night film . Probably some of the best drumming you will ever hear . Its a massive step up from this song .
They have way better songs than Still Counting...but i suppose it could work since its "popular". I would recommend Dead But Rising, Sad Man's Tongue. The Nameless One, Radio Girl, The Mirror and The Ripper, Mary Jane Kelly to name a few...
Type O is amazing and has so many diverse songs its hard to choose. But anything off of the October Rust album would be a good start. Like, Wolf Moon for instance.
Man I have been watching your reactions for a long while now. It is time you experienced something older but hardly heard of anymore. You must check out: 40 below summer - Drown, or Rejection. Both are amazing songs and will open a new door for you.
One of the best lines of all time. Beavis, "If you saw Helmut walking down the street you wouldn't know they were cool."
Great memories😅
Cant believe your reacting to Helmet and the totally underrated Page Hamilton!!! Loving your channel from, Manchester UK!!!
Only taken about a year to convince Preston to give them a try although I did suggest In The Meantime instead.
One of my most favorite bands from the 90s and woefully underrated. Love seeing them getting some recognition.
KTF reviewing Helmet!!??!!???
Instant like!
Yep!! I love them! I asked for this song bout six months ago.NEVER did I think he would do it.Someone from his patreon must have requested it.
Prong. Snap your finger snap your neck. You won’t be able to stay seated. Guarantee
Fuck yeah !
Great song request for KTF sir! Smile I have a request as well for him, you should you search in TH-cam for the song Feel The Burn by Dogwood.
Also "Power Of The Damager" by Prong too !
I break my neck everytime i hear it
I hear ya !
Love that you reacted to Helmet! Check out their songs "Milquetoast" or "Just Another Victim" (feat. House of Pain) from the Judgement Night Soundtrack. Super influential band!
Jacob Arias I love the Judgement Night Soundtrack!
Jacob Arias Just another victim would be a good one for you. Rock/rap crossover 🔥
"Milquetoast" is the shit !
From the same album as Unsung, the songs In the Meantime and Ironhead are also amazing. I have the CD (from back when it was first released). I also have the Crow soundtrack with Milquetoast, that's also a nice song.
Smash the like button to get Just Another Victim reaction. It would be the shit if the whole Judgement Night soundtrack was done.
Think about how different this type of rock was when it came out, compared to the 80’s that just got left in the dust!
Helmet guitarist/vocalist Page Hamilton later became David Bowie's touring guitarist. Bowie said he was the best guitarist had ever worked with.
I fucking LOVE the fact that you're reacting to Helmet.....and everything was right in the world!!
It’s sort of a minimalist approach. This song is like an IKEA coffee table. Simple, but beautiful.
There's a plethora of good jams throughout their catalog.
my vote goes toTurned Out....or Iron Head
Just Another Victim from Helmet + House of Pain . You will love it

Prong and Helmet have toured together. I saw them three years ago in Detroit. Sold out show
I think Queensryche- Take Hold Of The Flame, Live in Tokyo is in order at some point, much love and respect!!
glad that you liked the song, surprised you weren't more excited about that drop in the beginning. That simple riff is so effective because of the way they build it up before it drops into the rhythm. Cheers!

the ending of the song with the melodic part it transitions to is one of my favorite parts of any song in existience. THANK YOU

You need to do some clutch binge and purge or Shogun named Marcus
Check out The Book Of Bad Decisions album by Clutch.
Clutch "far country" and "juggernaut" are both badass songs
Your honesty is wonderful, I agree. I like the song and the finish is great.
I used to jam to Helmet back in 91 this whole album kicks ass!
Check out Meantime
Prong is another band you should check out
I remember riding around smoking bowl after bowl listening to this album for the first time in ‘91, those were the days
My favorite album of all time every song is great

Right? That shit took me back as well. I always loved how they just drove hard through the whole song. How can you not get psyched on that?. Cheers
If you like this vibe, try Fu Manchu - King of the Road

Or, those of us that actually liked the band.

Bro that is my favorite band I’ve been listening to them since the early 90s
Wilma's helmet is incredible!
Re-act to Chevelle " Send the pain below".
Yes! Come on bruh!!!
The Clincher as well!
Thank you Preston! Helmet is great!..."Snap Finger Snap Neck", "Wilma's Rainbow". TheWash DC sound has many reps- Jimmies Chicken Shack, Clutch, Fugazi
You absolutely have to review "stoopid" by Snot. The best groove I've ever heard in a metal song
Melvins - A History of Bad Men
FINALLY someone else who "gets" it! I second that motion
I can’t like this comment enough.
One of the catchiest guitar riffs of the 90s. Love these guys and remember when they came out. I jammed them loud for a long time
Helmet! Great reaction; this song is rocks because it's simplistic. Chevelle, "Hats off to the Bull", next please.
Good shit dude, they do that shit throughout their songs. Meantime is an amazing album. I'm glad you checked them our dude. You should do it again though.
This song was in so many video games in the 90s
Hell yeah HELMET👍. Seen them many times back in the day. Even seen them open up for Primus what a show!
Man, what a great time for music! MTV actually playing music with bands like Helmet, Soundgarden, NIN, Alice in Chains and STP in heavy rotation. Wish you all could have been there.
This song is a damn freight train chugging from beginning to end. Nothing too flashy, just bang your head and enjoy the ride.
Alice In Chains - It ain't like that
Rumor has it the Drum Kit filed Assault Charges against the drummer shortly after this track was recorded!
Dude Helmet is the shit. They have such a nice bounce to their songs, and have a really satisfying rhythm
Sleep - Holy Mountain
Dude you are a reaction king!!! Thank you for doing this song!!!
Yo, one of my favorite bands getting some love! First, Deftones, Tool, Alice In chains, etc, and now Helmet! Too dope man!
I'd give anything to be able to go relive the 90's....Over and over and over again.
Stripped down basic, solid rock. Solid lyrics. A 90s gem
This is a total mosh pit song. I saw Helmet live in the 90s and the mosh pit was fantastic!
Helmet are INCREDIBLY under-rated. I recall hearing they actually blew out the speakers at Madison Square Garden, they were so loud and their wall of sound was so massive.
Helmet were a great band. My introduction was the song "Meantime", and what a massive first impression that song is.
One of the first bands I attended live. Great show
One of my all time faves. My two sons and I would mosh pit this. Great job.
This song was unavoidable in '92. Good times.
Underrated song. I still listen to this off and on to this day.
Dude that bass line in the last minute of the song is awesome!
Alice in chains- we die young
Alice in chains- got me wrong(unplugged)
Alice in chains- man in the box
Sevendust- Black
Sevendust-denial
Kari Keller great choices aic all the way
We need more Sevendust. Gimme Black.
Got me wrong no doubt
Sevendust for sure! And I say Alice in Chains-Would
I always got a "Fu Fighters" vibe with this song.
And anyone who's played the game Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas should recognize this song!
I loved moshing to this song. Very positive energy.
Ain't heard these guys in a long time..saw them at rock city,Nottingham UK way back in the day..classic..
I always liked this song, not just the end but from start to finish it just rocks
One of the best high speed driving albums ever recorded. Sorry officer, no I don't know how fast I was going.
The year was 1999. I had just downloaded Napster. As I was about to search for the first song to download, only one song came to mind....
Unsung by Helmet. True story.
So underrated..great band.. lords of the industrial sound

Helmet.
Classic, Solid, 90's alt metal.
Nice Bro.
I used to drum to this song all the time.. Kick ass song, especially on the drums
tool- pushit salival.
WILL NOT REGRET!!! Do the lyric version
Cannot overstate my love of John Stanier's drumming for Helmet.
HELMET ( JUST ANOTHER VICTIM) from the soundtrack of Judgement Night film . Probably some of the best drumming you will ever hear . Its a massive step up from this song .
Thanks bro !! Great band ! Seen them back in the day. They fucking rocked live 🤘🤘
Lol, Painkiller. The one time I played whatever game it was, I decided to try to sing that song. It was hard to speak for a couple days
Loudness....

HELMET-UNSUNG such a classic throwback. Ahhhhhh I fucking miss the 80s
Drummer has such a deep groove!!! Great feel!
You said you liked drums. This makes my fingers move the whole time.
Love that song! Can you do Volbeat - Still Counting? You won’t be disappointed!
They have way better songs than Still Counting...but i suppose it could work since its "popular". I would recommend Dead But Rising, Sad Man's Tongue. The Nameless One, Radio Girl, The Mirror and The Ripper, Mary Jane Kelly to name a few...
Hallelujah goat
Hangman’s Bodycount
Doc Holliday
The Garden’s Tale
I kinda like most everything they’ve done.
So many great Volbeat songs to react to.
Volbeat is horrible. Mine as well be nickleback
FUCK YES KTF!! Absolute banger! Maximum points dude.
You should react to some Chevelle songs! Ex. Door to door cannibals, jawbreaker, Well enough alone, Breach birth, Straight jacket fashion. They jam!
There's also Vitamin R, Closure, Take Out the Gunman, The Clincher
I know for sure he'd enjoy them. So many great songs.
Good seeing some classic Helmet reviewed by a guy that doesn't get into them, but likes what he sees and hears....
Awesome reaction, keep up the great work!
ONE OF MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE SONGS AND BANDS
High on Fire!!!!!!!!! Thraft of Caanan, last, blood from Zion, ethereal and fury whip!!!!!!!!!
More pls. This band was so so slept on in crossover 90s metal/punk
Ministry - Jesus built my hot rod
Preston You must do Type O Negative.
Black No. 1
He might not like that one. It is a great song but a little repeatitive. I was thinking of maybe Love You To Death or Christian Woman.
Kevin Brown I also think he’d like the little intricacies of Love You to Death 🖤
Type O is amazing and has so many diverse songs its hard to choose. But anything off of the October Rust album would be a good start. Like, Wolf Moon for instance.
Helmet was always middle of the road metal. The opening was my favorite part of the song.
The end is just ecstasy
Yes!!! I've been waiting for you to react to this song :)

Helmet! No way. This is dope. I loved this song as a kid.
Who remembers which Guitar Hero this was on?
Or GTA SA - Radio X
