so did you let him go...?? there's no need to keep old wormy fish like that, best to put him back to live out his life and someone else can catch him...
Ignacio Limon Jr. About 10 yrs ago I caught a legitimate 90 lb black drum in the lower Chesapeake Bay, which BTW actually did hold the WR for awhile back in the 1970s and 80s with an 111 lb fish. So, I can tell U the drum in that video wasn't even close to WR size. Just more click bait.
After fighting a fish that long I hate to see people leave the fish lay on the ground that long. Atleast have the respect to hold the fish in shallow water so it can get some of its strength back unless your planning on keeping it.
I get the whole taking pics part, I'm a sport fisherman myself but unless your keeping it get it out get your pics and put it back. I give myself 1-2 minutes at most.
Don't think a bucket was going to work guys! Here in SW Louisiana, when wanting to stretch the arms a bit, we take a blue crab and bust him in two and work a half into a Carolina rigged (sharp) khale hook. Usually will fish a flat adjacent to a deep drop or channel, or where there is rock nearby as those big ole ogar drum love to eat blue crab. My personal best is just under 90lbs. I caught while flounder fishing on a gulp shrimp! They are a blast to catch on regular tackle but we do not keep any black drum as they count towards the daily creel limit of red drum which are the preferred of the two drum species in which we catch.
My cousins caught a black drum while we were on vacation off a thousand foot pier at the end, and got put in the news paper lol, he got the record for his age. Port Aransas baby! Good shit guys.
So much hate for no reason, are y'all that surprised a TH-cam title was misleading? These guys may not be expert anglers but there having fun catching beasts, good work
fish nation I fish for them commercially in Virginia that's around a 75 pound fish no record by any means but a hell of a fish. And how big is your way bigger I've seen fish that could barely gill in a 16" net
Back in the late 60's and into the 70's we use to catch big Drum off of the catwalk on Gandy Bridge in Tampa! they would usually range from 40 to 75 or 80 lbs.! the thing is when there that big they are not good eating because they have big worms in there gut! but they are a whole lot of fun to catch!
I was hoping someone would notice tht lol and the trigger isn't how I knew it was the guilds. he is lucky tht the rod didnt break from bending the wrong way... lol
I appreciate you pointing that out--when I do, people come back and yell at me and all kinds of crap. Passing the rod, or letting it touch the rail, yeah, the record will not stand. To me, and this is just taste--I agree with the standard, one fish, one person to take it on.
Mark Contreras either u dont fish or u r that DAMN DUMB!! I bet if he said he had a TACO on tha line u would of knowd what him wuz talkin bout LMFAO!!!
I'm from Florida. My smallest is 58.6 lbs.. I only shot it to win a tournament. Those fish are inedible. If they're near a bridge, the meat is like 40% worms. If you like the taste of parasites, you'll like this fish.
Damn it Bradley get to the bank, I'm mean this fish is freaking huge!!! Don't let him get on concert!!! He's Humongous!!! Damn that's fish. How much you think that thing weighs? Something bit off his tail!!
I even caught about two or three near that size and if you don’t let them go immediately the usually die because their so old. They don’t fight too well because they are old too lol it’s like reeling in a log
yes i have and you are correct.I have drank gallons of pbr..tall boys, draft, skunky from under the boat seat, sixers from the rivers edge, and the ones from behind the tree in shade while splitting cords of madrone, snowbank pbr while chip tooth you know..
That wasn't a world record. World record is just over 113 pounds. Since the rod changed hands too it is disqualified. Heard that a lot of times though.
I caught one just about this size in Florida's Oklochoknee Bay, my scale only went to 50lbs. so I don't know how heavy it actually was. I let my loose after pictures. These old Black Drums are full of parasites and not very good for eating.
Please don't hurt it,it deserves a bit of respect from you for the sport it gave you. Not too much to ask. Somebody else might enjoy the same catching pleasure?
I caught one that big n my buddy caught one bigger than mine! Mine was like 42 inches and wider than my chest but full of worms. I caught him wit a diawa d shock 12 lbs test and a brim hook trying to catch krokers for bait. Lots of fun!
so did you let him go...?? there's no need to keep old wormy fish like that, best to put him back to live out his life and someone else can catch him...
Yes they did 👍🏻
that remora was like hey give me my house back
Chance for world record evaporated when rod changed hands
icimblind 😂😂😂
icimblind Hahahaha!
"Hey Brad do we got a buuuckit?"😂
Tanah Tramantana "W" 😂
That's like my favorite statement in the world.
That big....full of worms , not good to eat. Hope you let him go.
Nice to see someone use real tackle and not a telephone pole with 100 lb test weed eater line
I'm impressed at the work they did to get to the bank... Damn southern people are dedicated to fishing.
Fuck yeah!
We are in fact.
i ain't no animal rights guy but y'all need to learn how to handle fish.
AGREED! DUMBOS!
Matthew Mcdaniel with a fillet knife?
Not to mention the guy wanted to shoot a fish that was clearly over slot.
"What's illegal?" lol
Nobody can catch a fish now a days without a million critics. Good job y'all. Better than anything I've caught
Ignacio Limon Jr. Exactly that’s what I was thinking looking in the comments

that ain't a world record though just caught one like that today at Loyola peir in baffin bay sun of a bitch was heavy
Pretty cool how the other guys pitched in to help land this fish! It looked like it had a remora on it.
dude we've caught a 64incher in corpus Christi bay... and released him. not beach him and kill him....bad meat bro
Sancho I'm from corpus? Where did you catch the fish at?
international turnaround we got pics and evrything. we just didn't submit it in
Sancho badass!
thanks bro! they are really bad meat tho even into the high thirties low forties
He handed over control of the fish when someone else grabbed the rod. Can't claim a record now. That wasn't a record fish anyway.
this is where all fisherman suddenly become good friend, good stuff lad
After fighting a fish that long I hate to see people leave the fish lay on the ground that long. Atleast have the respect to hold the fish in shallow water so it can get some of its strength back unless your planning on keeping it.
Big Outdoorsman I know, fucking loosers
Raymond Dumont animal cruelty
I get the whole taking pics part, I'm a sport fisherman myself but unless your keeping it get it out get your pics and put it back. I give myself 1-2 minutes at most.
Big Outdoorsman wasn't really out that long. She will live
Being out that long with a big gash, it's almost safe to say she died

No way that's near world record the record is 110 pounds that's a good 50 or 60 pound fish hopefully you released him
Could be a line class world record...
released him? it had a fucking gash on its side lmao
That's a mammoth. I've caught several 60 pounders. That is way bigger than I've ever caught.
Ogre nooooo sir dude I'm from Florida believe me we get them waaaay bigger the record is 113 no way that thing is even close to 75
fish nation I fish for them commercially in Virginia that's around a 75 pound fish no record by any means but a hell of a fish. And how big is your way bigger I've seen fish that could barely gill in a 16" net

thing ain't about to fit in no bucket
Spinning reel on a baitcasting rod..... *cringe*
Angel saw that too eh
Angel no it wasn't you crazy
Sam Wells look at 0:49 and you will see the trigger on the rod.
I was hoping someone would notice tht lol and the trigger isn't how I knew it was the guilds. he is lucky tht the rod didnt break from bending the wrong way... lol
Comes to show any set up works....
dang dude that is a monster! congrats to the dude that caught it.
more than one person touches the rod during the fight disqualifies it for a potential record
I appreciate you pointing that out--when I do, people come back and yell at me and all kinds of crap. Passing the rod, or letting it touch the rail, yeah, the record will not stand. To me, and this is just taste--I agree with the standard, one fish, one person to take it on.
sharkkiller1 that actually happened few years ago here in Alabama on a Hybred Striper. He passed it over a fence. disqualified!!
David Gray where in Alabama?
cnc7556 this fish was caught below Smith Dam. He handed it over the fence to somebody, so he could climb over.
sharkkiller1 which is gay
Hope y'all released it ....looked like newbies but hopefully still did the right thing
i caught a bigger one just last night with my sons beginner kit and a 12 pound test line
I looked it up and this was a Earth record. Biggest ever caught on the planet.
they make my garden sprout I tell ya what
Between the three of them there is six years of education!
Truth Matters that's being generous
Truth Matters 8/10 people you meet fishing piers and bridges are complete morons. And they never shut up.
Truth Matters and just as many teeth
And better people than all of you put together!
noneyerbidness and all married to the same woman who happens to be their sister/cousin/mom
Nice big ass drum....good stuff fellas!
Nice I've caught one that was 32 lbs and reeled,it in with 12 pound mono
Wieghed one in at the Snook Nook years ago that was 72lbs on a certified scale. Came out of the turning basin in Ft. Pierce
i thought for the first minute he actually caught a black barrel drum
Mark Contreras either u dont fish or u r that DAMN DUMB!! I bet if he said he had a TACO on tha line u would of knowd what him wuz talkin bout LMFAO!!!
world record!!! not even close...
Jason Diaz n
Yea bout 40lbs shy
Yep not even close that size is a dime a dozen where I'm from
I'm from Florida. My smallest is 58.6 lbs.. I only shot it to win a tournament. Those fish are inedible. If they're near a bridge, the meat is like 40% worms. If you like the taste of parasites, you'll like this fish.
I just want to know what kind of pole and what line he’s using.
Prolly attacked by the actual world record black drum.
Damn it Bradley get to the bank, I'm mean this fish is freaking huge!!! Don't let him get on concert!!! He's Humongous!!! Damn that's fish. How much you think that thing weighs? Something bit off his tail!!
We use those for bait around the Mayport Jetties.
That's probably a world record for the line class
Is that the 206 in st. Aug?
Lol the guy who said I think it might be a grouper
We get ones about that size or bigger around this time of year off the beach in Florida, super fun and all caught on flairhawks
I caught one a lil over 61 inch in the bayous of Louisiana years back. Didnt have all this youtube to share it tho.
nice piss dude. glad we could all be a part of that with you!
"..if you want em dead, i'll shoot em" Three misfits trying to land a fish.
What was that small fish swimming around after they pulled it out?
This is the state road 206 bridge in st.augustine Florida east side.
thats a pretty common size in south texas. But not a record...
Ross M. crashdummy35 true .
Ross M. crashdummy35 too many worms
Near world record...not even close friend. Maybe I missed the part where somebody said "Hey y'all, watch 'iss"
That was in St Augustine FL I grew up catching drum there pretty good sized one but not even close to a record
RagnarockLLC is that at matanzas inlet? That drawbridge on 206?
What were you using
Texas state record is 51” caught in 1988
I've caught a black drum bigger than that
Must be a world record in the city there from
I even caught about two or three near that size and if you don’t let them go immediately the usually die because their so old. They don’t fight too well because they are old too lol it’s like reeling in a log
I really do hope you put that guy back where he belongs its cool to catch them but cooler to let them go back into the water
sodbuster925 well stated
sodbuster925 big drums have worms sometimes
a big black drum would have worm in him after he gets so big. I'm a commercial fisherman and iv been down that road before
That guy probably 40 I have fought 75lb black drum and it was a 50 minute fight with 15 lb mono
this in saint augustine?
What bait did u use?
great job Gents...nice teamwork...
I think you're gonna need a bigger bucket.
Where was this at
did u guys take a pic then release her
and then they started fighting each other over the last pabst
yes i have and you are correct.I have drank gallons of pbr..tall boys, draft, skunky from under the boat seat, sixers from the rivers edge, and the ones from behind the tree in shade while splitting cords of madrone, snowbank pbr while chip tooth you know..
I know where this spot is. Really nice fishing spot 🖒
What did you catch it on?
I caught one a few years back that was way bigger than this, so I doubt this is a world record
What bait did he use
What was the other smaller fish at 4:44 the guy pointed at it and made a comment
MRBJT51
Looked like a small Remora to me. They are pretty common to see around large fish.
Dang, Thats a big one! Nice catch
That thing looks awful. what polluted cesspool did he pull it out of?
That wasn't a world record. World record is just over 113 pounds. Since the rod changed hands too it is disqualified. Heard that a lot of times though.
Surprised you don't have more views, nice fish
where is this place at?
I caught one just about this size in Florida's Oklochoknee Bay, my scale only went to 50lbs. so I don't know how heavy it actually was. I let my loose after pictures. These old Black Drums are full of parasites and not very good for eating.
What a big catch man .!! Awesome Channel
drew you eat it.
did you let it go ?
How many more people are gonna say (not a world record)? 😂😂😂
hopefully you released it, drum that size I heard don't taste good anyway so no point in killing it.
Ken Jondoe at that size aren't as flakey and tend to have worms
Yeah that's what I heard, hopefully they released it even though it had a big wound on its side maybe it survived
Plus in I think that size is illegal to keep at least in Florida.
Ken Jondoe here in Florida the have to be bigger than 14 and smaller than 24 plus one over size
idgaf this is a first for me ,I have never before seen a fishing relay lol
is someone peeing in the background
Doesn't matter if it weighs 500 lbs. you can't pass the rod. DISQUALIFIED
Please don't hurt it,it deserves a bit of respect from you for the sport it gave you. Not too much to ask. Somebody else might enjoy the same catching pleasure?
what was used for bait
Timothy Bloomfield best for drum is shrimp and sand fleas
Hey do we have a bucket? W T F for?
Should have kept it. Doubt it could have recovered. Fish would start eating it little by little in that bite.
congratulations! Thats a great catch!!!
At 1:54, any chance of a IGFA record was lost.
sure would be fun to catch on light tackle.
is that a baitcast rod?
viper2788 yes
The big one are full of worms. I guess you can eat them if you don't mind. I just keep the small ones.
where are you guys at?
mrobertson188 Florida?
BEAVIS hey, that's where I'm at
mrobertson188 cool
Great team work!
Is that a spinning reel on a baitcasting rod.....SMH
rob10274 yes 😂
rob10274 what's wrong with that? that's how they sell them correct?
rob10274 no
I caught one that big n my buddy caught one bigger than mine! Mine was like 42 inches and wider than my chest but full of worms. I caught him wit a diawa d shock 12 lbs test and a brim hook trying to catch krokers for bait. Lots of fun!
So you harvested a fish that was over slot?
Good job guys. Nice fish bet was fun. Don't worry about the haters.
World record my ass I have several pictures of ones that big
A fish that size is eat up with worms. No need to keep it out the water after that fight.
