I think a part of it is the simplification of many other mainstream brand logos. It's a quick and dirty way to stand out using legacy intellectual property that's both a nod to the past and a way of looking forward. Nostalgia is still cool and if you have a suitable brand you can reinvent that coolness by strapping on a modernized classic logo. Plus, older logos I think we're better designed. They had more thought put into them, you could use them in many different applications. So a company could take advantage of that.
I think companies do take advantage of trends and follow them, but in turn you're potentially sacrificing your longevity by keeping to a short lived trend which I feel a lot of brands and businesses fall into. The big brands like Nike can afford to have several rebrands as these trends develop. Thanks for your take!
My favorite rebrand was Pepsi because even though I am from Gen Z so I didn’t grow up with the older logo I think it’s much more fitting brand wise honestly
It's really nice to view it from this perspective as well!!! I've only seen videos that don't like/ don't understand the rebrands, because they think that companies are "simplifying" the logos rather than bringing back old designs. There should be more people who look at the positive side as well :) Keep up the good work!
Same here! Sound may require a bit of improvement though, it's hard to recognize some of the words especially for a person who's first language is not English. GL!
I thought the Burberry rebrand of 2018 looked exceptionally dull. This is much better. Until the last year or two it felt like every logo (if it hadn't been reduced to simply plain text) was getting flatter and simpler to the point everything looked almost the same. I'm looking forward to something more elaborate becoming fashionable again. Maybe some suggestion of depth and texture even, if they want to be extra crazy.
Burberry deifntiely smashed it in terms of both going back to their roots and looking so different from every other flat rebranding. I completely agree that the age of 'flat design' is getting rather stale now.
i have adhd and your headphone was distracting for me when you looked away from the camera, probably not a problem for most folk but just a bit of feedback. rest of video was excellent, pretty fascinating
If I was to offer any advice, it would be to really lay off on the noise reduction and compression you're using. It manages to garble your voice so much at some points it's hard to hear what you're saying. You're in a room with a condenser mic but sounds like it's been sound treated as if you were talking into a phone mic outside in a storm.
@@CraigReid Unless you're recording with construction going on outside or a fan pointing at you I can't imagine you'd need much in the way of noise reduction at all. Especially as I'd assume with that it's a cardioid mic anyway so would not be picking up much stuff that isn't right in front of it.

Pepsi did an amazing job with their rebrand, bringing parts of the original font as well was a solid choice.

Thank you very much
The fact you have less than 100 subscribers as i write this is astonishing. Awesome video!
Thank you! Very much appreciated
TH-cam recommended this video to me. Best of luck on your channel growth (commenting for engagement)
Thank you very much!

Thank you very much, I'll get the audio sorted next time!
Absolutely love the Kodak logo, really striking. Just hoping now for the apple rainbow logo lol
They really did do it justice with the rebrand
No worries! In the new iMac ad that Apple released, they showed a variation of the old rainbow logo at the end, but with darker color tones.

Thanks for the feedback Samuel, I aim to have my videos as accessible as possible so will keep this in mind. Happy to have you here and thanks again.

Noted thank you, I am juggling the noise reduction so will keep that in mind.

@@Figureight Yes a very good point. Unless I go out in a storm then I don't need to change any settings 👀
I see...
