Marty and Joe were magic...they were the soundtrack to my summers as a kid growing up. Marty was the best of the best.

Yea. Listening to this reminded me of listening to Reds games on the radio in the 1970's during summertime when I was a kid.

As good as Marty was, he wouldn't have been without The Old Lefthander!!!, Joe should be Enshrined in Cooperstown right next to Marty!!!

The nights I spent listening to the Reds on radio. My Grandmother loved her Reds. Marty and Joe.

I am 50. I can remember summer after summer afternoon tuning into WLW listening to Marty and Joe. That combo broke the damn mold for play by play by play.

@@stevepipenger4651 41 and same. Riding bike over to friends house at 8 years old and getting there and his dad is sitting on the front porch with the game on the radio. Stuff like that in the 80s is more similar to the 40s or 50s than it is to the 2000s

It was so nice to grow up in Cincinnati and listen to Reds games on the radio. It was like a part of life there for many of us. A comforting feeling just sitting in your car or at home and listening to Marty and Joe.

Amen brother. In my objective opinion, there is NO announcer in SPORTS history who was more skilled and natural, and it becomes obvious when you hear others describe an rbi hit...without the fluidity, and without giving us the full facts of the case.
((Me, yelling at the radio: “Brantley! Whaddya mean ‘now it’s 3-1’? Who is leading? How many outs? Who are we friggin playing anyway! GEEZ!”))

I was at this game in one of the suites, with a bunch of Indians fans. No doubt the best game I ever went to. A 35 year old jumping around like an 8 year old.

I’m LOVING this today, 4 hours before Marty’s LAST GAME.
You couldn’t read script better than Marty’s unscripted calls.
    A genius⚡️

Loved Marty and Joe together. So glad that Marty is still doing the games at age 75. I love Marty's honesty and it will be a sad day when he retires.

Consider it dunn, ☑️ the big send off Thursday. Marty was emotional, choked up, tears in the postgame radio show. I haven’t yet seen the postgame Marty Party Q&A on the field, I’m counting on it being recorded somewhere.
**Marty said “if you see me out and about in the community, come up to me and say hello, and we’ll chat.”
He said Cincinnata is very protective of its own. Like a brother, you can cuss him cuz he’s your brother, but nobody ELSE better cuss him...

Nice treat for the hot stove season! I discovered Marty & Joe at age 10 in '77, exploring my first clock radio. Marty is the best play by play announcer in sports history. So natural.

Wasn't it so cool to have your first radio as a kid it was like your best friend it was to me I listened to it every night it was great in the dark exploring all the ideas of the ballpark in my head

Summer of '74, I got a panasonic am/fm clock radio for my birthday that went inside my headboard. My very "first" West Coast game, San Fran Giants... They had this Pitcher named John "The Count" Montefusco. The picture in my mind Marty painted, was absolutely as if I was there watching. I was hooked, and Cincy Reds fan forever!!! I miss those innocent summer nights, and those DOMINATING Big Red Machine teams!!!
