    Amazing clear instruction. It is great that you compared the difference between the loop vs. topspin and backspin. Looking forward to the next video.

    Very nice video and excellent instruction. After your clear explanations and focused demonstration, I was able to clearly understand the tactic of using the backhand loop against a backspin return, or using the backhand topspin against the topspin drive. I can't wait to try this out. Thank you.

    Greetings from Guayaquil, Ecuador. I would be very grateful if you added the reflection of your movements (you are left-handed) after each of the educational segments of your videos. If you do it would be a great training complement for right-handed table tennis players. Thank you very much for the attention you give to this suggestion.

    Hi from New Zealand. You have a very natural looking backhand thanks for sharing... Currently I am practicing hitting ball against a board on oppersite side of table due to being in lockdown. May I ask when you are bringing your arm back (to start the shot) as the wrist snaps back naturally.. Then when you start the motion forward with your arm.....are you using your thumb to help bend the wrist forward or are you using the very end of the bat handle as leverage where in contact with your palm of hand.. I can use one or the other.. Which do you use??

    The backhand loop technique is very important in table tennis because it is a powerful and aggressive shot that can put pressure on your opponent and win points. The backhand loop involves hitting the ball with a looping motion using your non-dominant hand, creating a lot of topspin and speed on the ball. The backhand loop can be used to attack different types of balls, such as backspin, topspin, or no-spin, and can be played from different distances, such as close to the table or far from the table

    i think i know how to do this with the penhold grip without rpb :
    use the waist as a pivot point
    the speed has to come from a forward motion from the elbow
    but your thumb behind the racket to close it's angle
    add a fast but not sudden wrist flick that has to be moving upward but not forward by itself
    try getting the motion correctly add speed and strength latter
    *edit the rest is identical

    it is hard to contact the ball on top especially when you have to move in a game in and out and side to side. Developing a nice clean BH drive and block and BH topspin against backspin would be more important. After those are developed BH topspin against block or BH counter spin against topspin will be a bit easier to do(meaning in motion and in speed and in unpredictability element)

    • @RobertoCostas
      @RobertoCostas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In practice, when playing, hitting the ball on the peak of the bounce is almost impossible. You should continuously calculate the trajectory of the coming ball (almost impossible most of the time) and continuosly move backwards and forward to reach the peak.

    For right-hand players, should weight transfer be from left to right leg when playing backhand loop?

    Your starting point in the first few instruction clips (1:25 and 1:38) are NOT the same as the ones you show a few seconds later (1:44). It is apparent when you can see the forehand rubber (black) during your backswing on the backhand.
