I have the trash can and I absolutely love it. 32 devices online. Two Xboxes in the house. Multiplayer gaming simultaneously. The store in my area Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is giving the trash can out like hotcakes
To be true to the testing... one would have to take the time to TURN OFF one of the Wireless Routers to test the other one. Then reverse that procedure. Turn off the other one and go back to the first one. I know... that takes testing-time... but it avoids the serious interference one router might cause another router sitting right next to it.
Looks like a much better Gateway. To improve experience better RSRP and signal to noise ratio on 4G ...the N41 seemed to be having difficulties. The antenna on the new one will be interesting to see ...Good to see...
You can put an external antenna on the old unit. You just have to open it up and connect u.fl to female SMA pigtails. The pigtails would typically come with the antenna you buy. With that said I'd go ahead and get the new gateway.
I have the black box one and I basically turned off the router part and hooked up an external router so my gateway is just a modem instead of modem/router doing so helped speeds cause it's not having to do two jobs at once
I’ve had all the modems since the the first one that was very limited in connected devices. Second got warm probably bcz of the battery. Third one was similar to the second but did not heat up. The new one is the fastest and best. No issues so far with my homekit devices. With the others I had to restart the router. I usually have full bar Excellent connection in my area.
Thanks for the test, and based on this I'll wait till T-Mobile is forced to start upgrading everyone to newer units, but I'm still curious to see what a good external antenna setup would get you.
First, thanks again for doing these tests. Just an observation as been mentioned, to get an accurate test of the two, going to have to get them on the same bands. Very possible b2 is stronger better signal provisioned for capacity at you location than b66. CGI is different, either you are are on a different tower or set of cells on the tower. Being said though, for the plug and play types it seems just plugging them in and let to do their thing they seem to be evenly matched as to their results. Don't think you mentioned it, but does the HINT control app work with the new device?
I just swapped out my trash can for the Arcadyan and it's worse. I'm gonna keep my trash can and send this new one back. The ping is a tad bit lower and more consistent and the download speeds are not even close. Trash can out performed in every test I did. Same spot, one device, same speed app avg of 5 test. Running test with nothing else close to it either. Tried to take out all variables bt these test are so depending on ur location to tower and congestion 🤷♂️
I had mine by the livingroom TV. I moved mine to the front window and gained one bar i guess if i put mine outside i would get all bars. I will try when the weather is drier, outside. Maybe i will get all bars. Not complianing with 4 bars. Speed is another area i havnt tried. I dont get buffering but i think my phone is slow sometimes. Its slow at work and outside just using cell service. I havnt tried my win 8 computer and i have a win 10 desktop. I havnt tried the Ethernet connection yet.73
I am not in a very strong area but T Mobile qualified as able to use. Where I am able to place near a window on first floor that does not have second floor above get 3/5 signal that is LTE B71 but no 5G. Download is little over 100mbps and upload is only 4mbps. Even with this relatively weak date able to stream IPTV, TH-cam and other videos without any issues. I just dropped Spectrum and the T Mobile is half the price@$30/month since am also a wireless customer. If things work OK am happy, can also return to Spectrum in the future and get promo price but they always increase. T Mobile keeps this price lock which is nice. Not a gamer so OK and hope the T Mobile network improves over time.
I'd be interested in the new unit just for the optional antenna. I've got the OG Nokia, only get good service on n71, when it latches onto n41 my speeds drop to single digits and pings go into the hundreds. Not sure what's going on with that.
2 different brand of phones sometimes got different of speed for the wifi . I used samsung and Iphone test my home internet at the same time and same spot but got 2 different speed . So your speed test doesn't make sense.
how did you get them to give you the new one? i hate mine, it over heats, the app never works, the speed is garbage, the range is garbage. and im more technically inclined then the average user so i know it is in fact the router causing most of my issues. ive also made many changes to router settings and devices around the home with zero improvement. when i called them, they said a new router wouldnt resolve my issues and wouldnt replace it.
That's better than what I got before I had to switch. My 2 biggest complaints were the latency and my sons not being able to game. I switched over to Verizon and it's been good. I was happier with Tmobiles customer service and app. I may give them another shot
@@davidcross1968 If I was you I would stick to Verizon if gaming is a primary thing. T-Mobile not having port forwarding is immediately a no go for gaming. Verizon has it built in you just have to go into setting and enable it
I just returned my new gateway tmobile , even with antenna have very serious dropouts. I think everything depends of the transmission antennas, maybe to far away from my reciver. Only able to have 3 or sometimes 4 bars and very low upload and download speeds.
The Nokia gateways have a long history of crapping out and where I live way out in the country the KVD21 is much much faster..... it'll all depends on where you live.

Might have been a better test to have them both in a separate window if possible or at least test one at a time because of the deprio situation
I have the 5g gateway from tmobile. Its amazing. Fast install . Great for gaming for Pc . I have 5 devices connected to it . 5 star ⭐️

A very powerful chip!!!!

I have the black box one and I basically turned off the router part and hooked up an external router so my gateway is just a modem instead of modem/router doing so helped speeds cause it's not having to do two jobs at once
The main thing people forget is that these new gateways have more bands of both 5G and 4G to offer than say the older ones.

I wonder if the speeds increase with the external antenna. Good vid comparison, looking forward to the gaming

With his signal I can't imagine it would be much different with external antennas.
Updates have improved the g4er dramatically
All these videos about the new gateway that no one is eligible to get. Great job!
Could you please 🙏 tell me how you got the new Arcadian G4AR I'm really want this new device I also have the Nokia
Nokia Trash can took me out lol 😂😂 the part of title name of the Video
You should always run your speed test two or threee times and it's not good practice having the gateways next to each other...

My gateway won’t get 5g with the window closed. If you open it up it locks in to 5g and is way faster.

Why didn’t you buy an external antenna?
@@MobileMasterTech I have it running on a booster. Tested both 5 times with & without the booster. I don't have external antenna to try

Thank you was debating as well .. but I noticed not much of a lagg on the xbox so why bother
This is not a good product for gamers. Verizon’s is much better for things like that. T-Mobile clearly doesn’t want gamers on this box 😅
@MobileMasterTech I would suggest it but been stuck with tmobile for 2 years and it's been alright with cod and videos not bad. Thank you though
