The wildcard family are living the life most millionaires can't even afford... and the ladies proved that 1 they cud beat the best anglers anyday and 2 that women can fish fully clothed. I cannot imagine FTW ever coming to an end and that this channel deserves it's own tv show and 50 million subs and more. They have techniques that still amaze me. Well done boys, showing not only the world but also us as Australians should be proud of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.
Spend enough time in the wild and you will see wild things! I've seen 1.3m to 1.5m saltwater barramundi surface feeding and 50kg GTs hunt like Orcas rounding up mullet and beaching them selves to get their pray. Being surrounded by fireflies and catching tarpon/sootys on surface lures at dusk was also pretty wild.
@@fishingthewild8542 I hold that (location/moon/tide/time/season) combination where the huge barramundi feed, very close to my heart hahaha. You could almost call it "ladies night" because they would all be big hungry females 👌
I can’t imagine a more epic adventure to go on as a fisherman. I’ve done a lot of things on and in the water that I thought were wild, but after seeing this incredible footage, I’m not in the same league. Great video!

If you’re really keen to go there we would really highly recommend Wildcard Cruises, they do their professional Mackerel fishing job for half a year and then luxury charters for the rest. Sorry to tell you buddy, nothing special in that video, that's just Normal for Commercial Mackerel fisherman in the NT and Queensland Gulf ...... I have fished that spot at the Wessels Island, I have never seen so many Spanish Mackerel 40+kg.... but if you can't get them in quickly, even larger Hammerheads and Bull sharks will completely launch themselves out of the water, to grab a jumping Mackerel..... Honestly there are better spots to fish, with more fish and less sharks.... but the average size of the Spanish Mackerel there, seems to be larger than any other spot that I have fished commercially for Mackerel, by line, in the NT and Queensland.... ..personally I think Spanish Mackerel is over rated as a eating fish... But if I was going to eat Spanish Mackerel, I prefer to eat the meat off a 5 to 10kg fish, not some old horse ,that weighs 35+kg..........

Can I ask you mate if you had permission from the the local people to to fish here, If so it is only respectable that the Davy family put back at least 20% of their profits to the local mob for medicinal and culturally positive outcomes. Do You agree? It would be fantastic to see more of the mob doing the same as the Davies within environmental protection and tourism purposes. PS, (Hypothesis) if you electrify your line after hook up the sharks will piss off. Depending on the line you are are using (apparently), just a thought. I am not an expert though. Just a thought or two.

How fortunate are you blokes to be able to work with and be such close friends with so many of the top end locals and be able to show the world what our magnificent country has to offer. Nice video guys. Brings back memories of deckying for a pro mackie fisherman at the Carnarvon Blowholes back in the eighties. Sharks used to be a problem there too and you knew a mackie had a shark after it when they went airborne. A big mackie on the cord handline was hard to pull in and we also ran 2 rods. Was great fun.

I do remember watching the Mathew Bligth Video on the Mackerel industry / wildcard, but this video is LIVE and all the guts. Those girls, man those ladies would put 99% of us men to shame ( and l was in the Northern fishing industry), they are brilliant to watch, pulling and fighting each fish to the dories. You have to line up to get a regular supply of Wildcard Sp. Mackerel, highly credited for quality. Sadly the sharks are out of control up there since they banned finning but l guess that's the price you have to pay, pay, pay, pay if you want to remain a fisherman. Not to take anything away from the girls, they are better than all you muscle bound city boys.....as a life long commercial fishermen myself, women are not even close to being strong enough or fast enough to be competitive with a average experienced male deck hand..... speed and strength, play a big part in your income when it comes down to pay day.... The wild card is not a average Commercial Mackerel fishing boat... it's a lot fancier and pretty like charter boats, nothing like the rest of the commercial Mackerel fishing boats... to me it seems like it's more about the lifestyle to them...

Wow what a fascinating video these people are as tuff as their life’s. I find it fascinating just how intelligent the shark have become Knowing they will have easy food by following the fishing boats. The risk of injury to the team must be massive I wonder what the risks assessment reads for health and safety management. I haven’t had this fish before but if I get the chance to I’ll definitely remember this story and let everyone eating with me know about This video and recommend they watch it. Ones again you have done a brilliant job with this video thank you and all of the people involved in it keep them coming.

Best fishing show going around. Absolutely loved series 1 and series 2 has clearly surpassed that. Hopefully they can think release both seasons on uhd.
Far out, good fun but a tough way to make a living, hats off to the ladies, they go hard. Some may have romantic notions about this way of life but being out there day in and day out facing that battle the novelty would wear off pretty darn quick, tough people.
Wow Prue is tough!!! She could work the deck for me ANYDAY!!! I have spent a good deal of time handlining King Mackeral in the Gulf of Mexico and it is not for the faint of heart. Add those Sharks and wow that brutal!! Great stuff fellas funny the Ballyhoo or as you say Garfish and an Islander is the bait of choice for us as well I also see the #5 Clark spoon!!!

Hey guys, this is right up there, one of the best fishing episodes on TH-cam. Awesome to see Bruce the legend - highly respected in the fishing industry. I do remember watching the Mathew Bligth Video on the Mackerel industry / wildcard, but this video is LIVE and all the guts. Those girls, man those ladies would put 99% of us men to shame ( and l was in the Northern fishing industry), they are brilliant to watch, pulling and fighting each fish to the dories. You have to line up to get a regular supply of Wildcard Sp. Mackerel, highly credited for quality. Sadly the sharks are out of control up there since they banned finning but l guess that's the price you have to pay, pay, pay, pay if you want to remain a fisherman. Your video's - ahh your video's... always a must watch and the camera work tops. Ask N'T tourism to double your allowance, no TELL THEM ! Till next time cheers from FNQ

Not to take anything away from the girls, they are better than all you muscle bound city boys.....as a life long commercial fishermen myself, women are not even close to being strong enough or fast enough to be competitive with a average experienced male deck hand..... speed and strength, play a big part in your income when it comes down to pay day....
The wild card is not a average Commercial Mackerel fishing boat... it's a lot fancier and pretty like charter boats, nothing like the rest of the commercial Mackerel fishing boats... to me it seems like it's more about the lifestyle to them...

Far out, good fun but a tough way to make a living, hats off to the ladies, they go hard. Some may have romantic notions about this way of life but being out there day in and day out facing that battle the novelty would wear off pretty darn quick, tough people.

Wow Prue is tough!!! She could work the deck for me ANYDAY!!! I have spent a good deal of time handlining King Mackeral in the Gulf of Mexico and it is not for the faint of heart. Add those Sharks and wow that brutal!! Great stuff fellas funny the Ballyhoo or as you say Garfish and an Islander is the bait of choice for us as well I also see the #5 Clark spoon!!!
