I am sure I am not the only person in the world who struggles to concentrate on pure audio mediums. Maybe this is some form of attention deficit syndrome And this is exactly why video format keeps me glued, much better than a podcast format. Thanks very much for introducing this for several other like me.

Amit, Ajay, thank you. I'm 21, and had embarrassingly known nothing of U2 except their Ordinary Love. The second Joshua Tree began with those harmonies, I received freshness. I can register their influence on Coldplay, having followed them for almost a decade. Thank you.
Keep on riffing. For it is what we do, and it is who we are. In music and in thought.

I just realised that it has been a year since i opened the EIE door! How gratifying and rewarding has this been!
I feel like a part of this journey! :)

I really really enjoyed this. Especially because things that I personally consider painful, harsh or tough realities of the world are talked about with a lot of scope for possibilities and good faith. A kind of perspective I'm always seeking in the world. It makes being curious bearable. 🧚‍♂️ thank you!

It's unreal (read as shock) to "see" rather than "listen" to both the creators. I wish you well in this format.

My father, a medical doctor, recounts stories from his childhood about how a quack in village managed to save several snake bite victims without any medical intervention. Ajay's story about Cobra's empty bites explains that.

Was eagerly looking forward to this episode. Note that anti-uncle rhymes with aunty-uncle, so definitely worth double checking on the intent of the remark from Shrayana (aunties can be as unyielding and of fixed mindsets as uncles). On a serious note, witnessing the persona behind the voice and actually seeing you well up with emotion talking about not being aggressively conventional will bring me back to this medium to watch every episode. Ajay Shah was brilliant as usual. From character insights into venomous snakes and bastard seagulls to the parallels between the pace of scientific discovery and innovation in music, and then some. Loved it all.

Thanks to Amit’s extensive useful resources list, every time a person types one of these keywords in the list, the video pops up in your feed. This is amazing, whether it’s intentional or not, leads to more visibility and newer audience which is unlike many other TH-cam channels who provide bits and pieces of what was discussed in the video.
I just typed preference falsification to know more about it, this video showed up in the feed.

I was just waiting for this to come up. Always a pleasure to listen to Ajay Shah converse with you. He has an amazing range and depth. I haven't yet listened to this episode. My comment is based on your earlier episodes with Ajay Shah and particularly your latest one on Ukraine.

Anyone asks ‘why do we read books’? -> 35:12
One of the best minds of our times describes things so well. This is going to be a goldmine of a channel and we should all be thankful for it. Excellent start! Who is this other guy along with Ajay though?

It came to me as a pleasent surprise.I just keep hopping back to ur Seen and Unseen after a listening a one fulfledged novel on Audio.Just to maintain the flavour. Not that I admire ur podcasts less than novels or non fiction but this is the way I keep my reading always. Today when I went to ur podcast got to know about ur this show. This is wonderful as it appears from the very titles of it.I will listen all of them one by one.Keep the good job going and all the best to u n co- presenter.

I loved the new format but I wish there was more use of b-roll with relevant stock footage and images since it is a video podcast of sorts.
P.s - There was more use of broll in the later part of the episode but I still feel there was more consistent use of it

Really liked it, more recommendations would be nice perhaps. Loved the tangents you took on after each recommendation.
Great stuff, looking forward to more of this.
    Snake anecdote:
Recently, on my way to office I encountered a snake crawling across the road, it was an empty road, the moment it saw a car (me) approaching, I didn’t like how fast it crawled across the road and threw itself into the bushes, I don’t care if you’re Usain Bolt, that snake would have outrun you. I got a chill down my spine having witnessed a snake go that fast.

Wow what a treat, great show! Thought that the seagulls subtext would turn them out like cuckoos/koels, laying eggs in others nests. Ghastly Gull maybe a better avian appellation.
Another somewhat enigmatic avian alliteration is Bagula Bhagat. I thought Bagula is the Lapwing (deceit of lapwings - what a display of injury, dragging its wings and the intruder away from its brood!), but the son-of-the-soil gardener insists Bagula is the Cattle Egret

Believe a free flowing discussion/ banter would be better than topic breaks in between. It breaks the rhythm. Same certainly can be incorporated as time stamps, if required.

@amitvarma sorry I’m a little late to this party but I really like this conversation. There are two things I’d like to say. One, I’m so used to your podcast content that I’m just treating this TH-cam channel in the same way, letting it play in the background when I’m cooking and having my dinner. The second thing is actually a question that is when you said that the art of tomorrow might come from todays angst from the youth of places like China or Ukraine or India, how will AI change art itself or change its expression and experience in a radically way ? Any thoughts?

I accept the mention of Rabindranath Tagore but in view of the world influence Dostoevsky would have driven the point more succinctly .Rabindranath Tagore's Geetanjali represented the voice of Hope and not despair through belief in the power of looking within and instinct while the Russian novelist existing within the milieu of hopelessness wrote the story of Nicholas following a woman sent to Siberia belatedly owning that her condition is due to his own fall from an expected moral standpoint at a moment during his youth and upbringing in affluence . The girl was a maid in his household and he raped her and did not see or care that she was unwilling. A story of sin and the price the victim has to pay. 2. It is true that artists have a vague idea ,merely an inspiring moment at the most which once he begins through his creative imagination develops into an expression visually if a painter or musically if a musician. Great q&A,repartee, dialogue, exchange or all, whatever, it was stimulating to hear. Thank you.Thank you.
