This was a good discussion. I thought imam tom and sh haitham were tackling the issue from different angles. It was good to see the convo unfold. Thanks for sharing.

Highly informative discussion BarakAllahufeekum 👌
The number of views on this podcast shows that we are in a deep sleep at the moment 😴.
Shaykh Dr al-Haddad has studied under the tutelage of various senior scholars such as the late Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Shaikh Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd Allah ibn Baaz, Shaikh Abdullah Ibn Jibreen, the former chief judge of Riyadh and the retired Head of the Kingdom’s Higher Judiciary Council Shaikh Abdullah ibn Aqil, Shaikh Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen (for a short period) as well as various other senior scholars.
Great discussion mashaAllah. Totally agree with the idea of secularism not being neutral because for ex. I’m from Kashmir and we Muslims constitute 97% of the total population but when it comes to power, it just doesn’t exist, no influence nothing. They removed our statehood and whatnot just to try to change the demographics. But I think with India it’s different, their policies are mainly driven by hindu nationalism and hate towards Muslims. We need to have a strong representation at the int’l level to look up to in times of need and all. May we see that one day and May Allah rectify our affairs. Ameen
Love from Iran to brave Ansarallah of Yemen 🇮🇷❤️🇾🇪❤️🇵🇸
Consider this: If the Muslims didn't have the strong adherence to secular nationalism, situations like Gaza would not have occurred. 99.9% of imams, 'scholars' , influencers, and thinkers are overcomplicating the message of Islam. The distinction between Islam and kuffur is no longer as clear, thanks to these guys. Ultimately, Allah will restore HE'S Deen on earth, though but not through these particular individuals.
Many of the muslim countries are not secular. If by secular you mean they all have laws that are in not accordance with Islam and are secular in nature or non Islamic then that has been happening for the past 1000 years.
The muslims kings throughout this time have made laws or rulings that are non Islamic.
The issue is apparently there is an ijma in this that you can not criticise the muslim rulers or rebel against them even if take your wealth or spread haram as long as they are legally muslim.
Apparently what you can no is just pray to Allah for help
@@Yalla12347 Wahabism is a branch of Zionism it's only them will lie or invent rules to justify their existence.
@@Yalla12347 Haddad shouldn't be talking about Islam because he does more damage then repair.
@@thomasthomas6645 I dont care about what he says. I have a problem with muslims in the west crying to non muslims about rights. They want to stay in these lands and then also complain.
Someone asked me if the punishment for apostasy in Islam is de@th than what if non muslims make laws in their lands for people who apostate from their faith and become muslim. How would you feel.
I straight up said that these reverts should just hide their faith and move to a muslim country or just die in the process. If they do they will be shaheeds. There is absolutely nothing to cry about.
They are free to make their laws. We will implement the laws Allah has ordained for us.
The problem is when muslims in the west start saying “oh noo! Punishment for changing your religion”. The punishment is not immoral. Its just the non muslims would be punishing for leaving something that is not the truth, while we have the truth. You dont have to cry about. Just dont live in such a country.
If you would call it cruel then that would undermine your own position because we have the same rule in our countries.
SubhanAllah, brother
How do you know what would happen and what wouldn't, perhaps you know the unseen that we dont know about!
Whatever Allah swt wills happens,

The best we can do is preach islam, in foremost with our character and manners and not contradict ourselves, and then when they inquire about your faith, preach to them

Important discussion -
A people who have been secularised require gradualisim =Hikmah
I am sorry but i find it extremely difficult to understand imam Haytham - not in the sense of the language limitations or the accent, i am not referring to that but the ideas he brings to the table are weak, dismissive, and avoidant. Be addresses the topic without really addressing it directly leaving the listener in a grey zone and even more confused.
Which points should have been explained better? Im going to listen to the podcast now
Dont listen to him. Listen to the scholars. He has problems when it comes to aqeedah.
Go listen to sheik Salih al Fawzan. Sheik ibn Uthaymeen before his death was asked about who they should go to for fatwa after him? He said go to, sheik Salih al Fawzan. He is still alive (حفظ الله ). Sheik Abdurrazaq al badr and so on.
Other than them that has passed away : listen to recordings of Sheik Albani, Ibn Baz, Ibn Utheymeen , May Allah have mercy on them all.
May الله guide Haitham , the brothers in the video and us.
Listen to the scholars. They are direct and clear. Quran & Sunnah 💯
SubhanAllah. Found out he is Sufi.
Run, run and don’t look back. May الله protect us all. He got major issues in aqeedah , if it is true he is Sufi.
Anyways, if there is a doubt in a person’s belief. You don’t listen to them. Scholars say that if you know 80% of their aqedaah and 20% you still unsure about. You’re not allowed to listen to them.
No thanks@@ymi6945
nice discussion
Shaykh Haitham should remain silent on politics.
Anyone who thinks the genocide enabling Erdogan is a Mujaddid shows how he views politics.
Sh Haytham’s position that Muslims in the west should call for a more Muslim friendly version of secularism is bewildering….
In Mecca did the Prophet SAW and the Sahaba call for a Muslim friendly version of polytheism or did he SAW call for Islam, even at the height of persecution?
What Sh Haitham calls contextualisation is in fact pragmatism which is a cornerstone of secular thought. Unfortunately, he has been secularised without knowing it….
The ummah cannot bring a change in the system of the west until we demonstrate Islam in the Muslim world by establishing the khilafah system which will demonstrate Islam practically. At this point we need to challenge secularism both at the level of its thought and its contradictions of implementation which occur because of its failure to solve the human condition….
If the concern is secularism, then why do we want education like theirs, job like theirs etc. Why do we want to join their systems?
Same question..I don't know now how to live with muslim neighbour 😂..can I like them or hate them 😂😂
@@Mamtha716Why dont you just get on with your life rather than looking at your neighbours to decide if you want to love or hate them.

@Mamtha716 oooh Kafir. Threw a scary word out there. So you are a non believer. How is that a problem except in your Islamophobic mind?
@@Mamtha716
If not Kafir, are you Muslim?
Kafir- a non believer and Muslim- a believer of Islam.
What do you think about Muslim, clearly can be grasped from your comment herein. All religions are the same as a lie.
Salamo 3alaykom , I can see that sheikh Haddad sees solution is involving in the secular state and try to change decision making, because we don’t have other choice to help the community especially in western states, where Tom sees that the involving step , and make compromises to the degree of decision making,we surely lose our identity as Muslims in first place, even though the methodology we are doing now is very slow and may there will be a chance where the secular state demolishes Muslims belief eventually. I think for me the big plan of Allah can’t be known, and the prophet صل الله عليه و سلم was upset at the first that nobody did believe especially the closest from family….and Allah said لا يغير الله بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم. The question is how can you help people to change their perceptions ?? Tackling each problem and find what’s wrong as practical help to solve people problems in their life.

Shaykh Haitham is a breath of fresh air, allahumma baarik feeh. He completely understands the nuanced complexities that Muslims face and how English dawah has completely arrested them from being effective! He is pragmatic and gives great food for thought. I wish more people would think like him. I think shaykh Tom Faccines contributions are valid. I hope to see more thought provoking discussions like this.
The toxic 'M&M' should be kept out of politics - Mullah & Military. Both of these have brought nothing but disaster to the muslim world.
The basis for unity is akhlaq, not ideology
And what do you think akhlaq i.e. manners is?
You have good akhlaq and you have bad akhlaq - what gives us this standard to discern between the two?
Islam is that standard.
Shias have great manners, yet have disgraceful believes. I always thought asabiya is upon tawhid. This video is confusing@@SNMA5
This is a very dangerous statement because the intention behind it could destroy Islam from the foundations. No doubt, the main thing which unifies Muslims is their ideology and belief, even before their manners and conduct.
I came to this podcast with high hopes, because of the topic & imam Tom. No disrespect to SH haytham but, he’s not trained in this field as imam tom is, which makes the discussion very difficult, a studied man like him should’ve known this is not his field or speciality & give imam Tom precedence.
Salaam alaikum ... America (US, Canada) and European "democracies" are not secular nations. Their claim to secularism (ie, no religion in our politics) is a political system tactic to keep other-than-Christian culture from entering the establishment (ie from having a share of the nation’s power).
The cultural Christian foundation in the US is dispensational Protestantism which bred “American exceptionalism”. Essential to it is its unifying principle of empire: that wealth, land ownership, control of currencies, international military superiority, cyber and physical space dominance, the control of global capital is the aim and the proof of its station of God-full-ness (ie favored and so rewarded by Him).
What Islam offers is not based on the dimensions of forms or models of government. It’s not the opposite of secularism. Seeking to reform and replace governments is working in a secularized field of play (ie, their field of play). The world we have is due to the Qadr of Allah, not despite it. This is the pivot point. What attracts others to Islam is NOT replacing their governments or optimizing man’s objectives, it’s about revising their relationship with God, enjoining an ibadat-driven life, and reforming their attitudes and values towards His purpose. Secularism cannot breathe under these circumstances.
Ask shiekh if secular is equal kuffri, if it's how do muslm approve it.
Also he said younsters are becoming muslim, how if one person come to muslim and hundred Muslims become secular who won battle?.
The Muslim ultimately wins
There's disunity on agreeing on the effects of secularism? Weird.
Allah will be very very angry because he being disobeyed.
Quran chapter 5 verse 44 (surah AL-Mai`dah)
"Secularism and democracy are haram in Islam.Only sharia (God`s law) is permitted.
You here as well Gangu?
@@jimmyjonga8048 About my posting on secularism and democracy being haram in Islam and you throw insult by saying "you here as well Gangu?"When a Muslim has no answers he starst throwing insults. You need some good Islamic medicine to cure your rotten brains.Try the following
Sahih Bukhari 8.82.794
"Camel urine is medicine when drunk"
It is sold in labelled bottles in Mecca so on your way back from hajj make sure to bring home some bottles of it.
The discussion was a bit confusing for me. Secularism is just separating religion from public/governing affairs. There are other philosophy and ideas like humanism, scientism, zionism, capitalism, that will influence people.
separation of religion from state means destruction of society, because state decides your economy, law and order(ceiminal and civil law) and several other things. Every ideas is the result of secular ideology of a state.
Islam was established as state when it was spreading. And it should be established because when we establish as state all the ideas, economic system, education, and other will be islamic + non muslim people who are living under islamic system can see the reflection of quran .
No country in the world right now established as islamic state. They are just by name.
If the system is secular, all those other ideologies (which are also secular) will prevail and shape people's beliefs and lifestyle. Therefore, one cannot be Muslim in a secular system
@@BlueBlue23 I think sh Haitham is referring to freedom of religion in certain secular countries like the USA. All religions are free, the evil like Satanism, and as well Islam thrive in such societies. I think they didn’t pin down their arguments well. Living in other religion based countries might restrict Islam and dawah because they don’t want other religions to outpopulate them. That’s the pros of a secular society. As they mentioned, France is an example of extremist secular society which cracks down on religion, so it has less religious freedom. France is not just secular, it’s anti religion and specifically anti Islam.
@@BlueBlue23 as rules I think we should look for 1. Freedom to practice our fard, wajeeb, sunnah and to avoid haram 2. Security, physical and emotional 3. Amount of evil influence in that culture .
