  • Take a tour of Savi's Workshop and watch the complete lightsaber building process at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I chose the Peace and Justice theme for my custom saber. This is one of the best Star Wars moments I've ever had. Open now at Disneyland and coming August 29 to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.

    With a John Williams soundtrack no less! I teared up a little when I did this. Peace & justice lightsaber, blue crystal.

  • @TheDragonaf1

    That was on of the most perfect lightsabers i've seen - though i think blue would've sorted chrome better...

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was torn between green and blue... but Luke's RotJ saber is my favorite in the series... so I had to go green. But the kyber crystals are interchangable, so I could switch to blue if I wanted to buy another crystal from Dok Ondar's (I believe they are around $12 each).

      I don't know, I think the green blade went well with the black on the grip. From a short distance, the glow highlighted the chrome quite awesomely.

      Blasters or guns of any kind can not be purchased in Disney parks. It’s pretty sad they used to sell cap guns of Frontierland and pirate flintlocks in the pirates shop

    Awesome! Can't wait to do this! Do you know how they travel? Can I take it on the plane? Does the saber breakdown into parts? Is it boxed? Thanks so much! So many people laugh at the price... I think it's a cheap price to pay for such a unique experience! Wow! My son is going to love it! New follower here!

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the follow! I have heard that you can take it on a plane, and I haven't heard of anyone having any issues with TSA. The "blade" part is removable from the hilt (just push in and twist to take out), and they give you a foam "sheath" as a way to carry it around, but no box. And I agree, well worth the money for a great experience and high quality souvenir.

    Tried to do this last Saturday evening during the last reservation slot of the day. Something I hadn’t heard people warn about, they actually “ran out of scrap metal” not even 15 minutes into the time slot. So if that happened during a reservation time frame when they presumably knew how many people they’d have coming through, I figure it’ll be much worse when the reservation period ends. 😑 Going to have to try again some day.

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that. One of the issues is that they are only running one room right now (Not sure if they have multiple rooms constructed or not), so there's only about 40-50 lightsabers available per hour. If you want to do this once the reservation period ends, I definitely recommend getting to Disneyland once it opens and heading straight to Savi's. Disney has also said that they might start implementing a reservation system for Savi's itself (using a system similar to dining reservations), but we have no clue when that would be available.

  • @themaster6928
    @themaster6928 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    question i will be going to galaxy edge on december 21st this year will it be pack or hard to get into and will the sevis work shop build your own light saber still be popular and hard to get into or will the crowd be slow since it will be 6 months since it open also will they have new build your own light sabers?

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to know the answers to those questions, but I would guess that it will be crowded since Christmastime is the most crowded time of year in all of the parks. Disneyland has announced that they will be doing a virtual queue to get into the land, and same-day reservations for Savi's and the Cantina starting at 7 am. They have not announced what the procedure will be for Walt Disney World (I would imagine it would be similar, but it could be something entirely different). Either way, your best bet is to get to the park before opening and head straight to the land and grab reservations for those experiences as soon as they become available. No announcements on different lightsabers. I would imaginer that they wouldn't update it within 6 months, but never say never.

    • @Guide2WDW
      @Guide2WDW  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      At Disney World, it's $249.99 plus tax, and includes a carrying case which is like a sling you can wear. I didn't have to travel by plane with it, but I know people have been able to do that in both checked and carry-on luggage.

      The parts are metal. I'm not 100% sure what they're made of, but they at least feel metal to me. It has a very nice heft and weight to it.
