    Why you haven’t post any more videos? You are awesome and you might not realize the impact you have in others people’s lives. Regardless of your financial gain I truly think you deserve for stating your talents, time and knowledge, do it for all of us “lost souls” that need your guide and inspiration. Specially us girls to feel empowered to use power tools. Please don’t quit on us!! Post more videos please!!!

    I have 2 upholstered chairs with small wings that go down into very small arm rests along with piping along several areas. I am thinking about trying to do chairs over so I am hoping to find a video showing how to do this. It appears to be more involved than a Parson Chair though. I already watched 2nd video and came back to like and comment and I did subscribe earlier too.

      The legs probably won’t be beautiful when you remove the fabric. You may be able to stain them, but you may have to upholster them again if they’re too rough. Pay attention to how they were done originally. Probably slipped on like socks.

      Vinyl would be difficult without sewing. The foam will be too thick to make nice corners. Personally, I would sew them or choose fabric.

    Hi Aimee. First love your videos! Question…I want to reupholster 2 Parson chairs. They have springs and 2” high density foam. However when you sit on it, you end of sitting low to the table. It would benefit from another 2” piece of foam for additional height and firmness. Is this advised or should I do something different? I also worry about getting the fabric tight enough so the fabric doesn’t pucker. Any tips on that?

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio
      @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could try 4” foam if it’s a look you like. I would sew the front seams in that case instead of folding.

    Thank you.

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio
      @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No stupid questions! You can reupholster over it, but no professional would do so. If you choose to anyway, you have to remove at least the outside back to get inside, and undo the staples to pull through the back. Honestly, it’s easier to upholster something fully stripped, but it is definitely a pain to strip it down. I hire a strapping young lad to do it for me.

    • @lwurzvidz7918
      @lwurzvidz7918 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Id suggest at least removing the beading or piping first or youre going to have a tough time hiding the odd lumps from stretching your fabric over that vinyl. If you dont then at least add a little extra decron over the welt to mask it a bit

    I’ve got 4 scroll back Parsons chairs that I’m wanting to cover with vinyl, and just wondering if I can truly do this myself?! I’ve reupholstered one club chair by myself once and swore I’d never do it again, because I didn’t have the right tools, and had bloody knuckles are that. I’ve taken measurements and pics to several upholsterers and the price to reupholster is $225-$275 per chair, not including the vinyl that I have to specialorder., do you by chance have any videos showing how to do pleats on scroll back, or any video showing how to cover with vinyl? I’ve seen your video covering bar stool with vinyl, but afraid that doesn’t show me what I need to see...HELP!?!!

    • @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio
      @ArtisanUpholsteryStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you’re probably not going to like this answer, but there’s a good reason upholsterers charge a good rate for their work. Upholstery is hard. Working in vinyl is challenging. Honestly, if you want your chairs to look professional, it’s a good idea to hire a professional. I’ve been doing this for 25 years, which is the reason I can make it look easy. 😊
