Great reaction! This song is actually the first in a series, Freddie wrote a few songs set in a fantasy world. What you are hearing in the song is propaganda against the Great King Rat. He is trying hard to convince you that the Great King Rat is a bad King. Telling you "I told you and that's no lie". But he gives hints with the "you are going to realise tomorrow", in other other words people will realise to late that this is not the truth. You have to listen to the follow- up song, My Fairy King. There is an amazing version of this song live that is better then the studio version. This is from Queen's first album, they did not get the drum sound that they wanted on this album, it is the most visible on this song, in the live setting you get the real drum sound, so you can check out the Great King Rat - Queen live at the Rainbow 1974 (audio only, unfortunately the footage was lost, but the audio is great). This song with it's galloping rhythm is really early metal.

Freddie's early life was very interesting, born in Zanzibar, his ancestors came from Persia, they fled to India. He was raised in the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism, when he was 7 his parents sent him to an English boarding school in India, 3,000 miles away, he saw his family once a year till he was 16. He learned to play the piano there and was in his first band. He came home and a war started, his family fled to England with just the clothes on their backs. Freddie's real name was Farrokh Bulsara, he changed it after Queen was formed, and the rest is history. He became a legend.😊

King Rat was in the Nut Cracker story. It's basically a story a master villain whom ls evil which I think you can find in a lot of folklore stories. Its nuts but makes for a great heavy rock song.
