I'm not there yet. Although I joined the PC party just to support Pierre, watching videos like this (and the one about housing prices) alarm me. In both cases, the price increases are more caused by behind the scenes price gouging by Bay St than anything else: 1. Home prices: 30% or more of current home prices are a direct response to Private Equity firms, using US money funneled thru Bay St to bid the prices up. Pierre didn't mention that once. 2. Food prices: it's the FOOD DISTRIBUTION networks that are reaping all the profits. Again, they're run by private equity money. In both cases, PP blames 'the government'...(shades of that Ronald Regan knockoff Harper, huh?), and 'gatekeepers' (wtf is that?) as well as 'the carbon tax' (in the case of housing he blamed 'regulations')... No, I'm not ready to vote for him despite dispising what JT did to the truckers. I haven't yet, but I'm going to look at Charest and the other candidates.

Pierre seems genuinely down-to-earth and humble. Doesn't seem like the elite type, although I'm wary to trust any politician. I'm not there yet. Although I joined the PC party just to support Pierre, watching videos like this (and the one about housing prices) alarm me. In both cases, the price increases are more caused by behind the scenes price gouging by Bay St than anything else:
1. Home prices: 30% or more of current home prices are a direct response to Private Equity firms, using US money funneled thru Bay St to bid the prices up. Pierre didn't mention that once.
2. Food prices: it's the FOOD DISTRIBUTION networks that are reaping all the profits. Again, they're run by private equity money.
In both cases, PP blames 'the government'...(shades of that Ronald Regan knockoff Harper, huh?), and 'gatekeepers' (wtf is that?) as well as 'the carbon tax' (in the case of housing he blamed 'regulations')...

Because 99% of the land is Canada is being hoarded by the government please work to deed back 20% of this land to renters so we can afford a home. We need a national homesteading program !! I have three very athletic teenagers and two adults in my home. Our grocery bill and gas bill for our vehicles is astronomical.
It's going to be a very difficult road ahead for Canadians because of what Trudeau and his ilk have done. I do believe you are the right man to lead us down that road, Mr. Poilievre. Pierre seems genuinely down-to-earth and humble. Doesn't seem like the elite type, although I'm wary to trust any politician. These videos are really good for connecting with the common people and building trust with them. Can you imagine Trudeau going to a grocery store and filming food prices? Not a damn chance.
