Buying a home is challenging, especially if you're not paying in cash or avoiding a government loan. Even with just the minimum monthly payments on a 30-year mortgage, I’ll end up paying more than twice the value of my home. I was fortunate to buy before the market went wild, so I secured a good interest rate. I can't imagine trying to rent or buy in the current conditions.

The effects of the downturn are beginning to sink in. People are being impacted by the long-term decline in property prices and the housing market. I recently sold my house in the Sacramento area, and I want to invest my lump-sum profit in the stock market before prices start to rise again. Is now the right moment to buy or not?

Given the current market situation and the precarious state of the economy, I would recommend refraining from investing in stocks for a while or, alternatively, seeking guidance from a financial advisor. However, keeping a portion of your wealth in gold remains a wise choice.

He wants to make it easier to put up more housing with fewer regulations, but that will not help the people who are here, people will come in as fast as we can build them, also they are getting smaller and crappier and the prices still go up, him talking about squamish nation building those condos, thats great and all but its on native land so you just lease it no owning it, so thats not a win either, look around at all these places that were small town full of nature and now nothing but concrete and pavement

In my opinion, a housing market crash is imminent due to the high number of individuals who purchased homes above the asking price despite the low interest rates. These buyers find themselves in precarious situations as housing prices decline, leaving them without any equity. If they become unable to afford their homes, foreclosure becomes a likely outcome. Even attempting to sell would not yield any profits. This scenario is expected to impact a significant number of people, particularly in light of the anticipated surge in layoffs and the rapid increase in the cost of living.

If you actually want to lower home prices and renting costs you need to do these things:
      1) Cut immigration drastically - mass immigration has created excess demand which has placed upward pressure on prices. Mass immigration actually caused the housing crisis.
      2) Send back the huge number of "temporary foreign workers" and international students in very large numbers. This will reduce demand for rentals and bring down renting prices quickly which will help young canadians the most.

or you know invest in getting more houses built. increase supply. but your solution won't work properly because in this country housing is an investment. so for prices to go down you need a lot people suddenly dyeing and with no family to leave their houses so noone is seeking to profit off that investment and even that might not work because you could just get speculative investment companies snapping those houses up and looking to turn a profit. the solution is to force supply to go up which you can do by taking some of that detached house suburbia land and setting it for mixed density useage and then building apartment complexes on those lots with 1 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. this gets people out of the rooming houses allowing some renters who want and may be able to afford a house to buy one and drops prices for renting, especially since if the government builds it they can set the price and that rent can go right into the provincial/federal budget.

There is nothing more refreshing than a politician who can articulate his understanding of an issue and how it works and then explain how he proposes to improve it. Even if people disagree on certain facts or certain perspectives (which is maybe risky for a politician), at least we can see where he’s coming from. I appreciate being treated as an adult with a brain. And because it didn’t feel particularly partisan or like an attack ad, I didn’t feel like I was being manipulated. Missed that, did you? If you re-watch this video and think critically, you will notice that most of his arguments are not backed by the data shown. And you think this is educational? Maybe... but not in the sense that I think you meant: it's educational in that you can see how politicians create propaganda around a hot-topic issue.

The "immigration policy" political narrative is the third rail in politics. Sustainable immigration was the message, now it will continue to increase regardless , with 2 million more , looking for new homes this year. The Trudeau Regime declared it will import and pay refugees to come to Canada, with $30 Billion in funding in 2023. Freeland is paying for the voter "migration" of hundreds of thousands of humans from all nations. Packed into Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto GTA. Legal human trafficking puts dependents on Liberal party government supports, to pay rent, eat and live in Canada. When the Trudeau Regime starts to attack @PierrePoilievre, they will claim he plans to "cut social supports" , a dog whistle, to get out the Liberal or NDP vote.
Humans are being trafficked into Canada by Liberal Party policy, and it's regime partners, using $30 Billion in the citizens tax money,
Humans who will all vote with their stomachs.
Where we live, and if can can afford to eat, is put on the line. The Trudeau Regime will hold power for 2 more years with an iron grip. Trudeau knows jail is a possibility for his corruption, and foreign influence tied to the Trudeau Foundation. He is inept, and left a money trail all the way back to his Chinese support. Some say he is even the Manchurian candidate. Post National Canada is a reality, but citizens were never given a chance to vote on it. The biggest difference is economy of scale. Canada is a huge landmass but it’s population is not able to provide A-level services across the physical size of the country … the density of the population is too small to make it easy for good business.
It’s easier to make a $2 billion dollar arena profitable in a city with 3 million people than it is in a city with 1 million.
Countries in Asia have a very high density of population across the entire land mass. So the economy is easier for a business to be profitable in and efficient in.
Our government is too big for the population tax base. Those in government will tell you their numbers are needed to cover the large area of the landmass … but you will find that the MP’s and civic workers are focused in a small area of the country as this is where the most people reside.
If you scaled Canada’s population up to the size of a more populated country and kept the ratio of MP’s to citizens the same as it is … you would see how ridiculous the number would be.
Yet the government in Canada increases the number of MP’s as the population increases … especially when a city grows. Yet they don’t provide better representation of their constituents … because they don’t care what the constituents think, they tow the party line.

Well, Canada is far from self sufficient in food production outside of grain, and even within the food we DO produce, only 12% of the increase of costs came from ALL FUEL costs whereas 55% of the increase came from fertilizer and commercial animal feed. Now remember, that is FUEL cost increase, not carbon tax costs. In the end, only a handful of percentage points can be directly attributed to carbon taxes. He totally ignored the 32.5% of the problem just to focus on carbon taxes that only affected 1 - 2% of the price increase.

There is a shortage of land to build on, no one can sever their land into smaller lots. Farmers can't even sever an acre of their farm for their kids to build a house, that's just plain wrong. Ridiculous immigration policy, you can't flood Canada with 500,000 people per year and not allow land to be developed. Rich people are buying up houses for investment because they have no other way to get a return on their money, when interest rates were 5-10% you could just buy bonds, but the past several years they weren't keeping up with inflation.

Very good video. I am 65 and been a liberal all my life. But it’s bad out here and Trudeau must go. We are taxed to death.
Trudeau is out of touch and the liberals have no clue.
If you bring in all these immigrants, where do they live?
If you ramp up housing you also ramp up inflation. If the economy grows to fast by building housing then interest rates will go up. If interest rates go up the cost of housing goes up to pay for the high cost of building homes.
Immigration has to stop until we get a handle on the lack of homes.
Also for many years major corporations have been leaving Canada because the tax rates here cause them to pay a higher wage. That means these companies make less money and they head south where they can make more money.
Years ago we were told by the government Canada was become a service industry. Well we all can’t be a service industry that would be a disaster for the economy.
We need to stop sending our natural resources out of the country then buying the finished product back. This is ludicrous.
Our natural resources need to put Canadians to work not our neighbors to the south.
Trudeau is collecting the carbon tax then he needed to higher 1000s to send checks out to everyone. Even those that don’t need or deserve it. WTF kind of stupidity is this. Even the rich get a check.

I agree , if I may add my point of view on this, I believe the number 1 culprit we have in Canada is the unionized private and public sector, nothing can be manufactured in Canada that would make us competitive on the world market simply because a huge portion of our production cost is union wages, how can we produce anything that will be affordable to the general population and market, perfect example the auto industry, in order to purchase a new vehicle these days is equivalent to a mortgage compared to 10 or 15 years ago.

That's what will actually help. We don't need more homes, we need far less immigration. We didn't have a housing crisis before mass immigration.

Pierre invites the voters to the same table as the politicians, shows them the data, says what his plan is, and assumes we're just as smart as any MP and can put 2 and 2 together.

Every tradesmen I know personally, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc are still making the same wages roughly that they were pre-2015. Very small yearly raises. Lumber prices are in the toilet, most lumber mills are on curtailments or permanently shut downs because there is too much lumber on the market and most mills are selling at break even or a loss. Thank you for finally speaking up and cutting out the B.S Pierre. All the tradesmen to build homes and the materials to build the homes are the same as they were 2015, so why can't we build new homes and why have prices of them doubled or tripled? I don't believe the trade world is in trouble, not at all. It's us homeowners that have old houses that are falling around our ears and we can't afford to fix them. The other day I called a plumber, after many attempts to find someone available, all seemed to be very busy, for a pressure problem with the well pump; and I kid you not, he charged me $375 plus taxes, for not even a 40 min job. The majority of them accept money under the table, which I prefer to tell you the truth, that goes straight to their pocket.

Their food costs and other necessities increased like mine. So increase in wages. That also caused an increase in rates. It’s just plain simple economics. If not many do what you do you can demand higher rates. Three quotes are the way to go if you have time.

As an employee who deals with housing rentals, I can say in the last 10 years the tenants have changed from almost all ethnic Canadians to almost all people of foreign birth. I think, but am not sure, that most are paid money forced from me and other hardworking Canadians and given to "these people" which is used to drive up the demand and therefore price of almost all costs of living. It's not right to call it inflation because my pay doesn't scale so really it is a cost of living increase and not inflation. Government plans don't seem to incorporate an individuals life and goals but only looks to further the ponzi scheme that is the government of today. Where does more people directly lead to a better standard of living? Stopping price increases by taking my money in advance through increased interest doesn't sound good for anyone but the banks. We don't need highly skilled immigrants. We need better resources for Canadians wishing take post secondary education and trades. Education thats prices are pushed up by foreign students and immigrants. Canadians are pushed out of college, can't afford children, so we bring in more immigrants. That's the problem, not the solution. A good stable job market leads to higher wages and skilled tradesmen. Look at Alberta.
We need to stop brain draining developing countries of their most valuable citizens and make our own. Too many immigrants doesn't only hurt Canada, it hurts the countries they come from. Too many Canadians are pushed out to the streets while the privileged immigrants with means to leave (Doctors, engineers, tradesmen, businessmen, investors, etc) leave their countries without anyone to enact change, invest in their communities, and improve things. This dooms developing countries. Let them come here and work a 5 year visa or whatever, go home and teach what they learned here.
Pierre wouldn't get elected if he did say he was going to slow down immigration. Native Canadians are not the majority anymore, Look how fast Liberals lost support when the Muslims got mad over the sexualization of Children. Most immigrants of all race religion and nationality are more conservative in nature and hold traditional values. Woke shit doesn't fly. Look how fast Liberals lost support when Immigrants are actually leaving Canada. 5 years ago Trudeaus twitter replies were all people from other countries begging to let them in. Trudeau banked on them as new voters, and it worked until he made it more unlivable than where they came from. Pierre knows all this and if he does put the brakes on Immigration, it will be very subtle. I imagine he will, but he has to win first. Personally I think they need to cut it to at least 50%. Ban all foreign investment in real-estate and enforce loop holes.

In a rapidly evolving economic landscape marked by uncertainty and potential resets, diversifying one's investment portfolio becomes crucial. Exploring tangible assets like savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and high-yield dividend funds, alongside dynamic alternatives such as cryptocurrencies, can offer a strategic hedge against inflation and economic instability. This approach underscores the importance of being informed and proactive, embracing both traditional and innovative investment avenues to build financial resilience in unpredictable times. The successful portfolio managed under the guidance of Samuel Peter Descovich exemplifies the impact of well-informed decisions, underscoring the significance of expert advice in today's financial landscape.

Exactly! Which is why I appreciate giving a financial advisor the power of decision-making. Giving their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risks for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it's practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over $1million working with Samuel Peter Descovich, for more than five years.

Building a good investment portfolio is more complex so I would recommend you seek Samuel Peter Descovich support. This way you can get strategies designed to address your unique long/short-term goals and financial dreams

    Hello,
I was born in Canada, i am part of the lasts millennial. I went to school, worked hard, got an engineering degree graduating in the top of my class, got a prestigious job that ''pays well''. I don't have any debt, do not spend much on anything. While I am putting money aside, right now, the only affordable (with a reasonable 1/3 of my salary going to housing) is a mobile home in a suburb. (A MOBILE HOME!). I could maybe spend 80% on my salary on a mediocre home on a suburb that needs renovation, but that does not seem like a sustainable option...
I feel like I got cheated, duped. I am absolutely considering moving out of Canada (already started to look actually). the situation is absurd.
Probably nobody's gonna read that... but oh well... feels good to write it out.
    Ciao

@@theshi3152Some of it is just absurdly out of context, like population density in regard to available (versus developable) land. There is a very good reason why 90% of Canada lives along our southern border. This statistic in the context it was given was meaningless and I honestly hope it was intended to be grossly misleading (as the alternative would be worse)…

Yet beyond the red tape issue, his documentary pretty much ignores all other major causes for the lack of affordable housing. Not surprising, considering his miscitation of a C.D Howe Study on development fees not to mention lied about rezoned land in Vancouver. At least the liberals with all their faults, and have been obviously slow off the mark to deal with the threat to affordable rental housing, recognize it is an issue they have to deal with. What has Poilievre put forward to deal with REITs?

There are demand-side problems as well. We took in roughly 250k new immigrants per year up until Trudeau and now the target is 500k.
And though we have a giant landmass, land for housing around the handful of major centres of employment is limited. That's why we're building condos instead of houses.
