I still tear up when I see anything from ATLLGD. It was to be my first concert, at age 16, but we got hit by a blizzard late that afternoon. No one was able to drive. I was heartbroken. 35 years later, I reflect on the adventures I've had with not only other Duranies but with the band and am just so thankful to be part of the best fanbase in the world. DD FOREVER!
Duran Duran has accomplished so much. Having a 40 year music career is very rare. My daughter is 21 years old and she likes their music. I have loved them since the 80’s and can’t wait for them to come in my home town for their Future Past tour.
OH I how I lived for Duran Duran in the 80’s. They were my everything. I still have all my stuff of posters, pins, sheet music, bomber jacket and albums. Seeing them live was a dream.
This live performance is why Duran Duran is such a great band, especially how well they perform live, I'd say this is them at peak performance, also looks wise, but that still remains to today.
I caught them in Houston like forever ago!! 1, yes you are right; they are truly great live!! But 2, they did an amazing SLOW & sexy rendition of "Girls on Film"!!... I still haven't found a copy of that slower version though.
Sadly, this is no where near their greatest live performance. DD has only gotten better with time. The Astronaut tour with Andy was, IMHO, the best of the original members. Since he's been gone, my fave live performances were supporting All You Need Is Now. I've seen them so many times, and even gone drinking with Roger, Simon, Dom, Anna, Simon the Sax player and other support members. Truly great people who love what they do and appreciate their fans. My teen self would never believe me if I told her that this was my future... That I've not only met them but done so several times. Treat yourself to the new music they put out and catch a show sometime. You'll be amazed!
@@VampFaye I agree, Modern Duran Duran (2000's onwards) are fantastic and unappreciated, including Red Carpet Massacre and Paper Gods albums which has been ostracized from a lot of duranies, whereas I love every track. Their most recent live shows they did this year in February are up there with the Astronaut tour for me, with how well Simon handled doing the Seventh Stranger for the first time since the 80's and New Religion so flawlessly, I just wish they would tour Australia soon, Its killing me.

I've been on a heavy Japan/Mick Karn fix (which my interest in them is because of Nick and Simon playing Japan's Vision of China as guest VJs on MTV back in the day), so when the kid with the sunglasses walks out, my first thought is baby Mick Karn. :D Regardless, I went to see DD on this tour for the first time. My dad kindly let me dress him appropriately and let me dance and scream the whole time, and he drove us back from Jacksonville to Orlando and I LOVED the whole experience and I'm glad I had such an accommodating dad. ;) I must have been around 12, barely.

They were really at the top of their game back in the 80s. I remember when they were at the bottom late 90s/early 2000. Happy to see that the band stuck it out and kept pushing forward.

Duran Duran was playing at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland Maine My Sister Caroline's Daughters were Heavy into Duran Duran and wanted to see them. I Bought the Tickets in New York and sent them to my Sister Caroline. I Also told her I am going to bring my skate team to Maine. We are going to "ROCK" the Civic Center. I went Roller Skating and told my team. WE are going to Maine and take my Nieces Melissa and Crystal to see Duran Duran at the Cumberland County Civic Center!!!!! I got my 1976 Chevy Race Cube & drove Me and my Team to Maine. we booked Hotel Rooms and got settled in!!!! We went to Caroline's house and my Mother & my Sister Eva were there with her Twin Girls Laurie & Lisa!!!! The day of the Concert we all went to the Civic Center which was "SOLD OUT"!!!! We went inside and a lot of the People who worked there knew my Mother & my Family!!! They got us a nice space down in the front by the stage!!! They asked us to put on a dance show for them. I told them, "That is why my Skating team and I Came up From New Jersey to add a POWER-PACKED PUNCH to the Concert!!!!! This Buildng is going to "ROCK"!!!! The Concert got underway and the atmosphere was "ELECTRIC"!!!!! Everyone was going CRAZY over the music being Played!!!! This song started and my girls "LOST Their MINDS"!!! My energy went BEYOND MAXIMUM NUCLEAR"!!! Then I went into a RAGE"!!!! My Mother was Dancing with my Nieces and my Sisters Eva & Caroline. My Mother looked at my Team & me and "SCREAMED " "LEVEL the BUILDING"!!!! "NO PRISONERS"!!!!! I SCREAMED" "DETONATE" then Simon Looked at me and was "FIRED UP"!!!! Ny Girls and my Family "DESTROYED " the Civic Center"!!!! My Nieces Melissa & Crystal were Crying their Eyes Out watching their Family put on "MAGNUM Dance Show'!!!!! Everyone got done and the Cheering was Defining I then Screamed" "Simon Remember Westbury New York"!!!! He Looked at me and Said, Thanks For the Dance Show'!!! It was AWESOME"!!!
