Hard to believe this song is 40 years old... FORTY YEARS! To put that into perspective... when this song came out in 1981, 40 years ago would have been 1941!! How different the music was from '41 to '81, and yet how modern this 1981 song sounds in 2021!
Exactly!! I was just going to make a similar comment. Music from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's didn't remain popular and get radio airplay in the 70''s, 80's, 90's and beyond. However much of mid to late 1970's music, almost all of 1980's music still gets played today. And younger generations love it. 80's music retains its sound and vibe without sounding dated. And then when you hear these songs played live.... absolutely timeless.
Well pointed out! We have to be thankful that music has not changed so dramatically in this last 40-year period compared to the previous 40-years, and that these masterpieces of the 70s and 80s are as relevant as ever and far superior in production quality, rhythm, and performance than any of the shit that we get these days by most of the modern "artists."
Same. I travel all over the UK going to gigs. Oasis, Liam Gallagher, Stone Roses, Kasabian you name it I've seen them but Duran Duran were my 1st love and I remember seeing this for the 1st time on Sing Blue Silver at 10 years old and 💣💥 The Rock Chick was born 🤘😎

An astonishing band, Duran Duran. And this, one of their earliest hits, was probably their best! I think this song and others of their earlier years must've sounded futuristic in the early 80s. Reminds me a bit like Daft Punk, 25 years later, wow!
