How to Paint a Watercolor Apple 🍎 TWO Different Ways | One Subject Two Styles
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 26 ส.ค. 2024
- Today we will be painting a single apple subject in two different styles with watercolor! One, using a dry brushing technique, with plenty of hard edges and thin overlapping layers; and the other, using wet on wet, rendered with softer boundaries and fewer layers. This is an easy enough exercise for beginners to follow along - perfect for practicing water and brush control, and exploring the range of effects you can achieve by simply varying your techniques.

Fun video. I like the dry brush apple the best. 😊
If you scrape to give highlight hard edges, the wet/wet apple will look shiny
Thanks!
Oh heck!! Thanks so much!!! 💗💗
The dry brushed one is my favorite. It looks very painterly and has such a beautiful punch to it. Just found your channel and loved the first video so I subscribed!
Thank you so much! I'd have to pick the dry brush one too - just really satisfying to look at 😁
@@boxesofsheep It really is and I think part of the reason is because the values are better.
It has a nice glow from all the glaze layers, doesn’t it?🙂
awesome video!! i am very biased towards wet on wet. life is chaos, embrace it :D keep up the good work!
Haha yesss that's best reason 😁 Have a good week Tommy!
Excellent tutorial! The dry looks so textured and almost cubist
Beautiful! I have been experimenting with mixing different shades of the same color lately, like you did here with the reds.
thank you for bringing so much beauty into the world.
I thought you were a bit tough on yourself regarding the wet-in-wet version, I loved it. The shadow bleed was a game changer. Lovely, informative piece, again. Around this neck of the woods people were burned at the stake for doing this kind of stuff (and, of course, if they owned a black cat!). If you're ever in this part of 'leafy England' I reckon they'd probably cut you some slack... don't bring the cat, though. 😉
Fantastic video. thank you. Would like to have seen the reference.
Today i got my first watercolors and seeing your tutorial gives me an idea of how to start using them ❤ loved it , have a nice week
Aww that's awesome, I'm so glad to hear! Hope it goes well 🙏
❤
I subscribed.
Why don’t you like cadmium red? The video is great too.
Thank you! Nothing against the colour, which I love, but it can be irritating to the skin sometimes.
@@boxesofsheep Good to know. Thank you for answering my question.
