New Orleans' archdiocese adds priest to credibly accused list after almost 2 decades of allegations

When the Archdiocese of New Orleans issued a list two years ago that included dozens of clergymen credibly accused of sexual abuse, Mike Brandner Sr.’s heart sank.
Brandner’s late brother, Scot, had a trove of love letters sent to him by a former New Orleans priest, Brian Highfill, in his desk drawer when he died. The letters started arriving in the early 1980s, when Scot was 17 and in high school, and because Scot had known Highfill since he was 10, Mike Brandner feared for what could have happened when Scot was a minor. Months before the list came out, Brandner had started pushing Archbishop Gregory Aymond to put Highfill on it.
But Highfill wasn’t included.

It was foretold, that the devil will infiltrate the church. To destroy the priests and the rest of the clergy. The devil doesn't want no priest to do any more mass. But Jesus will take care of this. We need to pray for our priests. We are living in the end of times. A battle between Good and evil.

Look assh*le don't make light of the subject. There are many of us victims still dealing with this issue, And YES a big red guy with a pitchfork is EXACTLY who is at the center of this.
Sin affects us all but when clergy abuse their position of authority it;s even worse.

When people commit evil acts, it's their own drives and failings that are at fault. Satan and hell, at least as we understand them, were made up to keep the peasants scared, the tithes and indulgence fees rolling in and the inquisitions and heretic burnings appear justified. Casting responsibility for human evil onto some panto villain character who will destroy you if you don't do as you are told really is childish.

Absolutely, humans are and should be held accountable for the sins/evil either by omission or commission.
The Church teaches and demands we be accountable for our sins.
