    70 seconds is useful as a nurse who needs the display on for at least 60 seconds to take vital signs like heart rate per minute, respirations per minute, etc. Very annoying when you look at your wrist trying to get a pulse to take a heart rate and the Apple watch screen turns off. 70 seconds is perfect for medical professionals. Hope that answers your question.

    • @andrewmoor7747
      @andrewmoor7747 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same thing as a first responder. I NEED that second hand for at least 30 seconds for pulse (1-015 seconds) and for respiration (10-15 seconds) counts. and it sometimes takes a few seconds to set up for that check.

    • @badsabre5917
      @badsabre5917 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewmoor7747 they could have at least gave 3 options 15 seconds! 30 seconds and 60 seconds and it would have made more sense even for medical professionals.

    Working in healthcare being able to have your watch on for 70 seconds without timing out works great when counting for heart rates or respiratory rates.

    • @BlissyAcKc
      @BlissyAcKc ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Exactly, I didn't know it was an option to go to 70 and hated trying to count a baby's respirations by finding a clock hanging somewhere (different every dang room!). Fixed it to 70 now

    • @PayetteForward
      @PayetteForward  ปีที่แล้ว +41

      SMART! That's probably where the 70 seconds came from... just over a minute; just long enough for a pulse!

    • @ajmilagros
      @ajmilagros ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Use a timer! Do you want to do a full 1 min of resp counting? Set a 1 min timer, then you don’t t have to look at your watch - look at your pt and in 1 min the watch will vibrate the end. A colleague taught me this - it’s a game changer, especially with kids.

    I've been using my Apple watch for several years so I was skeptical that I was gonna learn anything new, but just in case I watched and did learn some great tips! Thanks you guys know your stuff and present it well! As far as app display, I like honeycomb and my solution is to group the apps that I use most in a center cluster, but not corresponding to the apps I keep in the doc. This gives me quick access to two different set of frequently used apps.

    I like that honeycomb’s design more than the list of apps on Apple Watch, cause I can see all my important apps I will use daily on one screen without scrolling. If the apps order is alphabetical, I always have to scroll. There’s no chance to reorder the apps in the list view to have the important apps together on one screen.

    I’ve watched two of their Apple Watch settings videos now. They both bait features or explanations that “we’ll explain or get to later in this video” but don’t. I don’t know if this is intentional or not, but it’s irritating.
    Also, there is some misinformation regarding wrist down settings - turning off all settings under Always On does not result in a ‘cleaner’ wrist down display. It does not remove anything from the display at all. Makes me doubt whether they actually tried this.

    I really appreciate your suggestions (and great you from Rome). My 15 Pro Max and Watch 9 have been taught to speak Italian, but I find it easy to follow your suggestions, despite the linguistic difference. My only perplexity with the devices came when doing a yoga exercise, and I came down a bit heavily on the matt. The watch started calling first aid, and I had to fumble about getting it to cease. Perhaps the phone and watch understand that I am 84.

    70 seconds, because health care workers like me sometimes have to manually take pulse data (electronic pulse data is always 15-second chunks, in patients with arrhythmia we take a full minute). 70 seconds gives me time to raise my wrist to get the second hand going and start counting.

    70 seconds Wake Duration, I find it useful, as a doctor, I often check my patient's pulse manually most of the time in ED and I use the stopwatch, usually check around 30 - 60 seconds and the watch would stay awake and I could see the second hand moving for a good 30 seconds or so without the watch dimming itself and having to move to wake up every 15 seconds.

    Fall detection always on: Same thing than wearing a helmet during riding a bike: You don’t know, when you will need this protection, but when you use a helmet or switch on Fall detection, you are prepared when you need it. There are so many reasons fall detection is really necessary: Stumbling on stairs, falling during accident with your bike without having started a training before and so on. I’ve had two accidents with my bike, on both accidents I was guiltless. One accident was with my bike, a car rammed me laterally. I flew through the air and bumped hard to the ground. I was really happy wearing my helmet and having that fall detection active. It worked fine. My advice for ALL people: Keep the fall detection turned on, it might save your live.

    I have a health condition where I can pass out sometimes. This is the biggest reason I got the watch. I’m alone sometimes and I feel safer with this setting always on.

    I prefer grid view, I put the apps in the grid where I want them then it’s easy access. The ones I use most go at the top etc

    I can see the reason that airplane mode on the watch turns off Wi-Fi. The top three reasons I use airplane mode are a) on a plane, b) on a cruise ship, c) in a hotel etc. in a foreign country. In airplane mode, the watch will use your phone's connection via Bluetooth instead of trying to connect to the same Wi-Fi network. This will usually not work or it may cost you extra. You can always turn Wi-Fi on by tapping the icon (above airplane mode) if you are in a special situation.

    Leaving the "fall detection" on helps you to confirm you fell, in case you fell accidentally.

    im kind of surprised you guys recommended turning wake on wrist raise on instead of off. its a bigger battery drainer than the always on display in all testing.

    What about skateboarding with the Apple Watch? Falling during skateboarding is pretty common. I wonder how accurate the fall detection is. Most of the time I don't need emergency help.

    at 6:30 I agree it can be to much for grid view but the reason why I like grid view over list view is I can find apps faster because it may be overwhelming but it is faster then having to scroll down more to find apps this is just my personal thoughts
