I have being using this method for many years. I collect the resin from pine trees locally. I tend to use a brush to put it on. A couple of things I find is use Vaseline or silicone grease on the thread of the bottle to stop it sticking, you can use it on super glue bottles as well to stop the top from sticking. The flux when made a little thicker can be used to hold SMDs in place so you can solder by hand with normal soldering iron. Great little video. Thanks

Hi Jevi. To make flux gel or paste, simply use less alcohol (IPA). A good ratio to start with would be 3 parts rosin (crushed or ground) to 1 part IPA. You can use a syringe to dispense the paste. 😁 Please don’t forget to subscribe.

Add IPA to resin and close the top so it does not dry out 👌

@@bobbyasghar yes dear, did the same thing, however resin become solid leaving alcohol on the top in tightly closed glass bottle

@@prashantk3269 this can happen only if you not using actual rosin or actual isopropyl alcohol. This never happens with the real stuff 🙂

Wow, another mute video! Sometimes I wonder why some folks make silent videos. Could it be because the guy who makes them has a girly voice or something? Odd. Oh, but, the good thing about using those tiny plastic bottles, is that when they're empty (after about 2 solder connections!) they can be cleaned and used for drinking glasses!😑
