    I literally told my told my fishing partner this week that i thought i could make one out of a minn kota style turning motor. This is almost exactly what i had planned. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice job. It looks like you could easily run the Livescope cable through the pole.

      Man I sure wish that was the case! The connector on the xducer cable is a bit larger than the inside diameter of the pole. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    You may know this by now, I see this is from 7 months ago. The material that you are talking about the mount being made of is called Starboard. At least that is what it looks like to me, we use it a lot with kayak mounting stuff. Thanks for the video.

    What kind of button is on your pole. It's brilliant for storage.

    • @Rednecks_Lair
      @Rednecks_Lair  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you've ever seen the locking buttons on telescoping poles I used the spring from it and machined a wedge shape to use on it instead of the locking button. Kind of hard to explain. Lol. Thanks for watching!!

    What size Fishing Specialist mount did you get? I got a 10 I believe. Reason I ask is since you did such a great job inspiring me to build this, I built a 3D bracket that fits over the whole mount. It allows you to lock it in place in the up position and the down position with a pin. All pretty heavy duty. Currently I have an arrow on top of pull al well, that also is a handle, slip right over 1.125 pole. I am not completely done with my build, I do not want to give you the STL files just yet. Last prototype was awesome, just about finished. If you like that system you made, I will give you this bracket STL however I can. I was just back looking at your file as I was putting everything together. Crazy how cool and cheap you can make these, especially if you have a 3D printer. I have mine going on a toggle switch on the dash, not foot pedal. Let me know if you are interested.

    • @stevegilbert7716
      @stevegilbert7716 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      P.S. My mount would work as is on the medium mount and long mount. If you have the short one, it probably will not work, but could be inspiration for you.
      One of the best build I have found. Thank You!

    • @Rednecks_Lair
      @Rednecks_Lair  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah man it's a simple build and works great. I finally found a nice set of dual pedals that came from a hot cold water fountain. I'm using it in all my latest fishing videos. It's low profile and heavy duty. Just what I was looking for. If I think about it I'll go measure the board in the morning. I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm underway on my next project now. To have an arduino and compass/gyro module keep that transducer pointed at what I point it at. Send me what you got when you are ready. I'd be interested in looking at it. Thanks for the feedback and good luck with your build. I sure have enjoyed mine!

    • @Rednecks_Lair

      It's just two plates one screwed in to each side of a fishing specialties mag mount. A hole is drilled into each plate for the hinge pin to go that connects the steering motor. Thanks for watching!

    • @Rednecks_Lair
