    That’s an awesome build, Cody! You are one of the most creative diy anglers on TH-cam that I’ve seen. The tutorial was cool to watch and you thought this out well. The portability and ability to remove the whole setup quickly is awesome. If I ever upgrade to live sonar, I’ll be coming back to this to try to build something similar for my pond prowler and kayak. Thank you for putting this together!

      Thank you, Chris! I really appreciate the kind words. A DIY setup like this would be perfect on your pond prowler. The best thing, is you can completely customize it to your specific boat/setup.

    Totally going this route. This is the cleanest one I’ve seen yet. Still trying to figure out where to mount my black box though. I would like for it to be portable for when I get a big boat. Great video.

      @@OutdoorQuestsupdate, I made this basically following along on yours. I put it on a Crestliner john boat. I had to modify some bolts to fit into the channel crestliner uses and bend them as well. However, it works great, first day out I caught a mess of fish! Thanks again for the idea! Nice to be able to use my ice fishing panoptix set up in the boat now!

    Great tutorial! I'm interested in how you do your wiring to your graph and your black box. Do you have another video showing that?

    • @OutdoorQuests
      @OutdoorQuests  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I have another video on how I wired my graph and battery, when I had the battery up front. I haven't done a video on the battery box, placement and how I've now got the wires ran. It's basically the same, except I pulled the wires through the back of the hull, then have them come out under the seat (though the access panel). My livescope cable, I just run under my seat (but not in the hull), then connect it to the black box that sits behind me. I coil the spare cable up nice and and tidy, and that stays under my seat as well. I just wanted the setup to be relatively portable. Hope that helps. I may try to do a video on it soon, but please check out the other video on my page of the original wiring/install that I did. Thanks for watching!

    Great work, my concern is the hardware. I fish saltwater most of the time I would need stainless hardware. I will work with my buddy to make me stainless toilet bolts and look for stainless pin.

      Thank you. You may be able to find stainless t-bolts at a hardware store. Love to do some salt water fishing one of these days. Take care.

    How does the system hold up to drag at higher speeds? Do you notice any movement in the main drop rod? I am about to build this and attach my thrusters to them. Wondering how sturdy the pvc will be under forward thrust.

    • @OutdoorQuests

      It holds up well. If you have plastic track mounts, those track mounts would likely fail before the scheduled 40 pvc would.

      Thanks Mike. I too spent quite a bit for a LS transducer mount on my boat, which I don't use anymore since I now prefer it mounted to my trolling motor. Live and learn.
