Bro, you have the GREATEST work ethic and attitude I've ever seen. My wife and I watch your channel every time you have a new post. We visit the UK often and you remind us why we love your country so much. Also a motorcycle rider here for 30 years. 750cc to 1300cc's. Two major crashes. A word of warning, no matter how tempted you are to throttle up with all that power, just be careful. Especially in cities. Oh, that shirt idea about "It's kickin' off, mate" is brilliant. What would make it better is if it had a facsimile of you in your helmet above or below the words. Every time my wife and I hear a siren now we say, "It's kickin' off, mate!" Love your channel and your attitude in life, brother.
MT-07...no question. I've had a supersport bike like the R7 but never again, they look great but they're a really impractical and hard to manoeuvre at low speeds. They put a lot of stress on my wrists and neck too. If I was getting a bike again I'd go for a 4 cylinder like the CB650R, they sound better than 2 cylinder IMO. Less power perhaps, but smoother and just a more pleasant riding experience. It's personal preference at the end of the day...
Someone else may have mentioned this already, but when you change the exhaust on modern motorcycles, the ECU often needs to be reflashed/tuned to minimize decel pops, which are caused by unburned fuel combusting in the exhaust system (mostly by design nowadays to minimize pollutants) but when you go w/ a bigger exhaust you get more air which causes more combustion ie more popping/banging. A tune can sometimes get your fuel/air ratio dialed in for the exhaust flow to help minimize it. Calling around some local indie shops they should be able to help you w this procedure if it's annoying you. I've done it with a few bikes over the years and it tends to help a good bit.
The restrictions in London are madness! I’m amazed how you guys can live in such a restrictive system.. I really hope they don’t expand their ideas to other cities..
It's a matter of perspective. I would much rather live in a low traffic area than in a high traffic area. Also in this video there are thousands of pedestrians and only hundreds of motor vehicles. It makes sense to cater to their needs over those relatively few drivers.
Be careful with the hazard perception part of the theory test. I nearly failed mine because I was seeing hazards and clicking too early, due to years of being a cycle courier and basically seeing everything as a hazard!
Yeah this is very valid i had the same issue. one fix is to click wait click wait click the system will score on the highest points clicked so even if you mange to click on 5 points and on 3 points you still get the five. just dont double click obviously
Lovely to hear a bike engine. Big fan of electric but there’s nothing like a bike fizzing and popping beside you. Good luck on the test, if you’re used to riding in the city make sure that you ride up to the limit on the rare 50mph sections of the test circuit.
I honestly prefer the way bikes are going with electric, (not complaining about your bike) but so many loud bikes are always flying around streets and you can literally hear them for like 30 seconds sometimes, some are obnoxiously loud. I love how quiet electric bikes and cars are honestly. Would be cool to see you on a bigger electric bike when you pass (if they do those, I have no clue).
Lol I use my eyes for that my guy, I'd take a quiet electric one over hearing a bike that's annoyingly loud going up the entire street and area, especially when I'm in bed.
Yeah i saw a video of Singapore and every scooter and car was electric and the city was so quiet. We forget just how much noise pollution vehicles give off.
Bikes need to be loud other wise they dont get seen. People dont see motorcycles with loud exhausts how the hell you think theyre gonna hear an electric bike. Wear ear plugs in public softy. What a nanny society we live in. Aww wahhhhh things outside are too loud everything needs to be quiet for me.
Don’t worry about doing your tests bud. You’ve clearly got the riding ability. Just get in the endless observations and road positioning and you’ll fly through it.

Assuming you’re doing a DAS course, you look like you’re 24+, and getting your full power licence, the MT-09 is a better bike and it has the lovely 3 cylinder sound. But as I’m a huge Kawasaki fan, first bike I rode was an AR80, first bike I bought was a KMX 125 and I’ve had more Kawasakis than any other bike brand, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Z900. The best Kawasaki I’ve ever owned.
Excellent content as per usual - let's hope the TFL cameras weren't working when you were out. Merry Christmas and keep up the excellent work. Love my bike (RT1200). I used to love riding it into Central London and filtering, it's a bit too big to filter but you get used to it.
Can't lie, I know nothing about bikes, but this video was great. Parts of it felt like when you're playing GTA and just let the taxi driver drive. Man I do not miss those West End crowds though!
Enjoyed the ride along. Thinking about following the same journey mate. Recommendations on a decent helmet and also what jacket / overalls you wearing in this? I’m starting from scratch but like the all black 👍🏻
"De stress" riding in London. Yeh right. Bar end mirrors. Look good. Staple of Cafe racers. Practical. Less so. Pops and bangs on overrun. Probably aftermarket exhaust not mapped to the engine. Different back pressure. Could need ECU tune. You are definitely getting used to it. Theory you should walk. Smart guy. Practical. Follow the book until you get the bit of paper. Shouldn't be hard for you. Your choice of future bikes. Same engine. Different state of tune. Riding positions. Chalk and cheese. Fairing. No fairing. Totally different experience. Have had many of both. In London the sit up and beg, more practical. Where do you plan on doing most of your riding. Any form of distance. Fairings come into play. But also riding position. Test ride both before pulling the trigger. They are different.
The midrange bike space is pretty competitive. If you've set your sights on the MT-07 I'd say go for it, but there's other options out there. I personally went with a Suzuki SV650 and have never looked back. I've heard good things about Kawasaki's Z650 as well. Though the MT lineup is super popular for a reason I imagine. I would definitely recommend going for test rides and weighing your options.

@@LondonEats Oh I get it. They are implementing such a practice to reduce the congestion of the road at those hours. How could you know? There's nothing can be done. Best regards!
I would appeal that ticket. There should be adequte signage before the turn. Having a instruction printed on the road 3 seconds before the sign on a road marked 30mph is not adequate as stopping distance at 30 is 90 foot and the bus was covering it which is another reason its not enough. Having the sign at the point of entry is not enough on a major road as its heading straight on. On a side road you would have the option to continue past the road. on this road by the time you see the sign are you meant to spin a uturn? I wouldnt send them the video i would appeal and ask for the photo it will show the bus in front of you.
