@@LondonEats | Hi Pal, need some advise, was looking at a low mileage super soco emax vs1 dual battery for deliveries up north, can you advise if it’s a good bike to start off with? And the link for your box and thermal bag please. Much appreciated, what sort of money do you pay for your insurance? Much appreciate it and thoroughly enjoy your content.
Full time sparky, part time courier.. TH-camr with nearly 200k subs, I wouldn’t mind being a pound behind you mate! 😂 I respect your work ethic a lot. Thanks for the regular content you’ve upped your game this year 💯
@@Pit-jt3lw I can’t agree with that, the editing of the videos is getting better all the time, it’s done with precision and care, I doubt he needs to go out at 3am below zero temperatures to make £40 off a few deliveries mate 😂
Bro is out there in the f-in cold delivering nice and warm food for people. You are a legend mate. Thank you for the service you are providing us. Love these videos.
❄️☃️I visited London as a foreigner during April, underestimating the sheer cold i would experience. It was 15°C but it felt like 0 degrees. Staying at a hostel near the West End of London, late nights I would order delivery. I fully appreciate and respect the work that food couriers put into their shifts.
Your work ethic is admirable (as always), and I really like watching the late night/early morning shifts. Not keen on the stock video inserts, though - they break the flow and the mood.
I live in Canada, I know a thing or two about cold, mitten covers are your best friend when traveling in those colder conditions. Used on snowmobiles for long distance traveling, they are really your only way to stop the wind from getting those fingers cold. I'm pretty sure I've seen you have them on previous videos. Always love your content, great fun to watch, here's wishing you the best over the holidays!
Love your videos. Watch the black ice in these conditions! Having lived in NZ for many years in winter I can definitely recommend merino and possum undergarments .. I guarantee you can halve your layers!
I for one love the fact you use 2 thermal bags. Those kind of things are what set someone apart from the rest. Being contentious about peoplse food. Where i live, more and more i'm finding any food i order just isn't as hot as it used to be when delivered. Keep up the great work bud.
The best time to work is in the cold! I've noticed this around my area, there are significantly less riders about... Raining, freezing cold don't matter, I'm making double the money in half the time! Also esp. in this weather,2 thermal bags are great. I've started doing this because of you🎉😅
Thank you London eats for this amazing content. You’re working in freezing weather I really appreciate that. Also London eats your videos have got me through my bad days and also when I got really really sick I found your channel and watched your videos and felt literally better. London eats your an absolute legend and deserve more your extremely underrated man 😄 wish to meet you one day and yes I defo agree 2 thermal bags keeps the food warm that’s just common sense innit. Also I love it when you get pissed off at people when they drive like nutcases really makes me laugh it’s hilarious. Love your personality man love you brother thank you 🤜🤛 I love late night shifts as well btw
Don't always comment but watch all of your videos and I love them. Always good content and you've got banging tunes. Also love the late night deliveries
I would like to say, it is lovely seeing you young lads, working so hard to earn a few quid. As a kid back in the 60’s we would have been doing this earn a few quid. Well done.
Question. Can you drive at a speed that will almost guarantee green lights? There are covers called poggies that will keep your hands out of the wind and thus warm. If you want to turn on a remote control. Stick the remote on neck and use body as an antenna. I could start my van at distance of 1k and van would be toasty inside. ;-)
I was in Helsinki last week, the delivery guys there were out on their electric bikes & scooters in the snow and ice at -12C, so they could probably give you some tips on how to deal with London temperatures!
Here's a thought I keep having whenever you mentioned double thermal bags... have you considered some sort of hot plate? Or if that is too energy consumptive, just some object you can heat up prior to your runs that has a lot of thermal mass? One other thing is worth exploring is that the less air you have in the bag, the better it will insulate, since the air that warms up from the food between rides will completely dissipate in those couple of seconds you open the bag between orders. The same logic works for fridges, where a full fridge will be more energy efficient than an empty one because the objects inside the fridge will keep their temperature better than the air does.
I got two thermals, the spartanpac large bag and the sling bag to go inside, keeps the food super hot, in this weather it needs to be done and btw noticing more tips too
2 thermal bags makes a huuuuuge difference just bought the second and two days in I can tell the difference is massive the food stays soooo much hotter
Another great episode, you're a brave man out in that weather. Try some Keis (battery) heated gloves (they heat the outside of the hand), they're not cheap, but a British company, so maybe see if you can do a deal with them - I wouldn't use anything else. Interested to know how much the weather effects the performance/range of your e-moped.
There is an increased-sensitivity mode on your phone which works with gloves even when they are 'non-touch'. Have you tried that? It should be in your display settings 👍
As an e-cyclist deliveroo rider I'm glad I don't have to wear so many layers. I can get away with a base layer and thin jacket. My hands get the coldest so double up on gloves. Touchscreen still works through both gloves!
Agreed. I find that as long as I keep my head and my hands warm (and keep the wind off), I barely need anything on my body. I just wear a breathable hiking T-shirt, a running jacket, and a neon vest thing with a handy front pocket (for Sharpies, gloves, etc. since the backpack blocks the usual cycling rear options). It's plenty except for the first 15 min sometimes but you just pedal harder to warm up and you're fine. I wear windproof and water resistant hiking pants and I'm set down to 34-36 F or so. At that point I need another jacket and my heavier gloves. I might pick up poggies if I keep up delivering but it barely ever gets below 35 here so it hardly seems worth it. But I definitely couldn't do it with my Helmuffs, a good mask, and my helmet with an eye shield!
Enjoyed the video and as always you're an inspiration concerning work ethic. Your videos truly provide some different perspective on hustling to make money and certainly make me appreciate that more. Seemed like you had some - should I call them "close calls? - in that video. Delivering in a big city really has some risks attached to it. Make sure to stay safe and try that meditation technique ;-). Greetings from Germany!
I personally think if you have a box you put your thermal bag in(or u driving in a car) then its fine to single bag, but if u doing ebike delivs with the food on your back i say double bag
crazy busy weekend just gone sat did 930am until 930pm did £182 on ubar sunday did 930am until 630pm £130 on ubar non stop pings both days , nackered today though after that
Why fewer delivery drivers go out to work in the cold? Two reasons: 1) Gear cost. Not everybody has a thermal bag. Even less have thermal gear. 2) Many drivers come from India or other "winterless" countries. It's too unusual for them.
If you think about it, can you tell us a little about the places you pick up from. Many of the chains and others aren't familiar to us in the US and it'd be fun to know what people are ordering. An example is Nandos. I get they do chicken but what about them?
Nice video man :) I have a pair of Gerbing heated gloves and they are game changers in the cold. They can be powered off the bike but I use them with rechargeable batteries which means they are always on and I can use them on my motorbike, ebike, or even when out for walks. They are not cheap but they are totally awesome :)
