There is a video where they watch people playing as their characters. Joe actually knows that sub-zero (kuia liang) in that particular game isn't the sub zero he plays(Bi-han). Instead he's "like get him bro!" and "I taught him that". Its really cool that he knows the lore and gets really into it.

Armageddon was the only game I had our families summer home in Mexico, my cousins and I have spent months across years exploring every nook and cranny of the game. This test was child's play :)
When Ludi Lin was cast as Liu Kang, he said he would play Mortal Kombat 2 when he was younger and would main Liu Kang. Then when the movie was announced he bought a switch to play 11
Idk if it’s just me but Lewis ( cole ) is so charismatic in these interviews that Idk how his character was so poorly writing in the movie. Also maybe just me as well... I think he woulda made a reeeealllly good Liu kang.
Okay, it's official. I love this cast! They're all good sports and seemed to have loads of fun with this. Especially Josh Lawson, who would've thought Kano of all people would be so enthusiastic and creative! By the way I think he played the more comic relief version of Kano masterfully! And their personalities and chemistry with each other are great. I think we as a community should keep an eye on these guys.
I really don't even think its his fault, I personally didn't care for his character. My frustration came from spending so much time developing him and not the other characters. I think for a lot of people this is a defining factor. Basically weather you liked cole or not would define if you liked the movie. If you liked him the movie was great, if you didn't, you feel like the characters you did care about didn't get any screen time or development or were killed off very quickly.

No matter what many thought of this movie, it can't be denied that Joe Taslim was perfect as Sub Zero, and he's also a legit MK fan. I hope that a sequel will get made, only so that he can return as either Sub Zero (maybe revived by Shang Tsung) or Noob Saibot. And yeah, let's hope that they'll improve the writing BY A LOT.

A demon doesn’t necessarily have to be a being stemming from hell/the netherrealm. Another definition of the word is “a cruel, evil, or destructive person or thing.” I think that definition is definitely an apt description of Baraka, though I am probably just reaching and he most likely meant the other demon. And as people are pointing out, Tarkatans are half-demons, so the description isn’t entirely inaccurate.

Allow me to explain: Triborg is made up of Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke. If you've played MKX you know how variations work. You pick 1 of 3 variations for your character that gives them certain abilities. For Triborg, each variation turns him into a different cyborg. But if you pick a character, and when it prompts you to pick a variation you press up, up, Y/Triangle (it just depends on the system you're using) you play the match with no variation. For Triborg, the secret is that the no variation is Cyber Sub-Zero. he's basically a secret character.
The cast is so freaking cool. Spread the word, we want Scott Adkins as Johnny Cage in the next one! Also whoever came up with the designs for this video did an incredible job

Sorry not sorry for spoilers but, I have a feeling that the producers/writers of the second MK film will have Shang Tsung bring Kano back from the dead, granting him cybernetics for the eye -- basically enabling him to masterfully control it. As well, Bi-Han/Sub-Zero will return as Noob Saibot (obviously), while introducing his younger brother Kuai Liang as the new Sub-Zero (originally Tundra) -- this would be fucking epic. I also believe Kung Lao must be revived, given his soul back when Shang Tsung dies. Raiden may step in to fight, but they'll also throw in Kintaro, Motaro, another Mileena (hopefully, because she's smokin' hot), Kitana and her relationship with Liu Kang, and maybe Sektor and Cyrax and Smoke (I'm pushin' more for Smoke). And Shao Khan, no worries there. You know what? Fuck it. Russo and Callaham, just ask me to write the new installment; I've already a title in mind.
(SPOILERS) Well, the thing is the movie was basically a prequel, because even the tournament didn't happen and the fight we saw was just Shang Tsung evil plan to cheat and failed and as we saw, Shang said to Raiden that the tournament will begin soon. So, the next movie probably will be MK1 adaptation and introduce Johnny Cage. The deaths (such as Mileena, Kung Lao or Reptile) can be redone. Shang Tsung easily can make a new clone of Mileena with her past memories and this can lead to a rivalry between her and Sonya. The writers can easily say the Saurian we saw wasn't our Reptile (Syzoth) but another one, and the death of Kung Lao can be a plot point for Liu Kang. Now, he isn't only there to fight for Earthrelam, but for his friend Kung Lao too. To free his soul and maybe after MK1, when his soul gets free, they can revive him somehow. Sorry if my English isn't good. It's not my mother language.
So basically cole is just a plot moving character. Basically an easier and lazy way to explain what's going on and give a reason for scorpion to show up at the end... Plus to push the johnny cage thing forward at the end. So besides all that, in your opinion what other motives can they work out for him besides looking for cage?

@@joedragon8245 well, to be honest, the story wasn't so interesting and killing some major characters so soon only for cool fatalities wasn't a smart move. Also, MK didn't need Cole Young to be it's first protagonist while the story has Liu Kang and Kung Lao. I think the film story wasn't that great but I want to see what they have to do in the future. Maybe they improve the story in future. I just hope Cole Young doesn't turn to RE Alice or SW Rey.

Okay, it's official. I love this cast! They're all good sports and seemed to have loads of fun with this. Especially Josh Lawson, who would've thought Kano of all people would be so enthusiastic and creative! By the way I think he played the more comic relief version of Kano masterfully! And their personalities and chemistry with each other are great. I think we as a community should keep an eye on these guys.

I really don't even think its his fault, I personally didn't care for his character. My frustration came from spending so much time developing him and not the other characters. I think for a lot of people this is a defining factor. Basically weather you liked cole or not would define if you liked the movie. If you liked him the movie was great, if you didn't, you feel like the characters you did care about didn't get any screen time or development or were killed off very quickly.

No matter what many thought of this movie, it can't be denied that Joe Taslim was perfect as Sub Zero, and he's also a legit MK fan. I hope that a sequel will get made, only so that he can return as either Sub Zero (maybe revived by Shang Tsung) or Noob Saibot. And yeah, let's hope that they'll improve the writing BY A LOT.

I'm a MK mega fan, so I'm well aware of how they bring along a new character in their Konquest modes back in Deception and Armageddon. We had Shujinko and Taven as new characters that drove the story of the game! So when I think of this fact, I try to tell myself it's OK Cole is there.
BUT...lmao. its so hard not to think of Resident Evil and Alice. The way they shit all over the lore and did what they wanted STILL pisses me off till this day. I just can't believe they would go that route with MK KNOWING fans of RE were so pissed.
BUT AGAIN lol. I'm going to wait to see the film and where it goes. That actual characters are given their justice. The fact still remains, Cole is not in the games like I stated. 🤷

For that reason I think Shujinko and Taven can be justified to some extent, similar to Blaze. But as MK Mega fans come on. Cole will never be added to the MK Universe as an official character. They may try but Idc if he's in the next 4 movies. I still would never consider him to be apart of that world. This movie alone somehow proved that Cole has more importance than Liu Kang himself? and with the abilities to beat Goro? Mk superfans aren't gunna let that slide. His fuckin ability is literal plot armor. Imagine that in a game. And that wont change I guarantee it. Movies and movies alone is where Cole will stay. The least they can do for Cole is make the fucking lore line up correctly with the rest of the world. I'm curious to know what you're general opinion on that is as well. A demon doesn’t necessarily have to be a being stemming from hell/the netherrealm. Another definition of the word is “a cruel, evil, or destructive person or thing.” I think that definition is definitely an apt description of Baraka, though I am probably just reaching and he most likely meant the other demon. And as people are pointing out, Tarkatans are half-demons, so the description isn’t entirely inaccurate.

Allow me to explain: Triborg is made up of Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke. If you've played MKX you know how variations work. You pick 1 of 3 variations for your character that gives them certain abilities. For Triborg, each variation turns him into a different cyborg. But if you pick a character, and when it prompts you to pick a variation you press up, up, Y/Triangle (it just depends on the system you're using) you play the match with no variation. For Triborg, the secret is that the no variation is Cyber Sub-Zero. he's basically a secret character.
he's named triborg, cause he was advertised as only being 3 robots mixed together, but there's a secret 4th robot in there,

Sorry not sorry for spoilers but, I have a feeling that the producers/writers of the second MK film will have Shang Tsung bring Kano back from the dead, granting him cybernetics for the eye -- basically enabling him to masterfully control it. As well, Bi-Han/Sub-Zero will return as Noob Saibot (obviously), while introducing his younger brother Kuai Liang as the new Sub-Zero (originally Tundra) -- this would be fucking epic. I also believe Kung Lao must be revived, given his soul back when Shang Tsung dies. Raiden may step in to fight, but they'll also throw in Kintaro, Motaro, another Mileena (hopefully, because she's smokin' hot), Kitana and her relationship with Liu Kang, and maybe Sektor and Cyrax and Smoke (I'm pushin' more for Smoke). And Shao Khan, no worries there. You know what? Fuck it. Russo and Callaham, just ask me to write the new installment; I've already a title in mind.
(SPOILERS) Well, the thing is the movie was basically a prequel, because even the tournament didn't happen and the fight we saw was just Shang Tsung evil plan to cheat and failed and as we saw, Shang said to Raiden that the tournament will begin soon. So, the next movie probably will be MK1 adaptation and introduce Johnny Cage. The deaths (such as Mileena, Kung Lao or Reptile) can be redone. Shang Tsung easily can make a new clone of Mileena with her past memories and this can lead to a rivalry between her and Sonya. The writers can easily say the Saurian we saw wasn't our Reptile (Syzoth) but another one, and the death of Kung Lao can be a plot point for Liu Kang. Now, he isn't only there to fight for Earthrelam, but for his friend Kung Lao too. To free his soul and maybe after MK1, when his soul gets free, they can revive him somehow. Sorry if my English isn't good. It's not my mother language.
So basically cole is just a plot moving character. Basically an easier and lazy way to explain what's going on and give a reason for scorpion to show up at the end... Plus to push the johnny cage thing forward at the end. So besides all that, in your opinion what other motives can they work out for him besides looking for cage?

@@joedragon8245 well, to be honest, the story wasn't so interesting and killing some major characters so soon only for cool fatalities wasn't a smart move. Also, MK didn't need Cole Young to be it's first protagonist while the story has Liu Kang and Kung Lao. I think the film story wasn't that great but I want to see what they have to do in the future. Maybe they improve the story in future. I just hope Cole Young doesn't turn to RE Alice or SW Rey.
