This and Dead By Daylight do a good job at making the characters feel unique.
100% Agree! Both of them really did a good job and showed alot of fantasy with a simple guy with a knife (not even paranormal undead, like Jason)
@@petrspetsnaz630 ghostface seems to have a few MK style abilities but I’ve seen it’s because some of the identities are recruited black dragon members who have joined in donning the ghostface mantle. But they haven’t took it too far, there’s enough simple stabbing that one of the ghostface could be ripped right out of the movies!

I love that Ghostface "Animality" is literally the California Condor, because in kayfabe the "Scream" films take place in Northern California.
Let's take a second and recognize the amount of effort required to put this together and post less than 10 hours from when the trailer dropped, referencing a movie franchise with six instalments, spanning over 35 years,..bravo!
would be a cool plot twist if it turns out that these ghostfaces are the less known mk characters from old games

Ghostface( Scream) was my first horror character I actually got into when I was a kid and even as a young adult I’m so happy to see him get recognition from even mortal kombat

That head stab kill was based on a real story interestingly enough. Apparently fact is stranger than fiction
He dies, he just doesn't die immediately.
And as someone else has already said, that particular kill is based on real life events.
Story goes, the director(Wes Craven) actually saw a news story about someone who got stabbed in the head and continued to function for a lil while. Which is why that death scene is in the film. The film is Scream 4 btw.
Actually, plenty of people have survived direct stab wounds to the head / brain.. it all depends on what part of the brain it hits, how fast the person bleeds out, & whether or not the knife is left embedded in the victims skull.. 💀🔪🔪
but anyways; although it looks like it would be; a stab to the head / brain isn't always "an instant" death type of wound..

The fact that they’re throwing Ghostface into Mortal Kombat is insane
I can’t tell if the killer is Billy or any Richie. He talks like Billy but he uses so many of Richie’s attacks. I think it might be Richie because they said they were gonna reveal a third act plot twist plus they prob want a funny Homelander intro.
I think it's someone from the MK universe. He has a flaming kick and Kano's Blanka thing.

The two you play as are Kira and Kobra, the third one you see in the xray could be Billy since the devs said the real ghostface hired two black dragon members to help him
I’m guessing the main Ghostface is interchangeable with the other Ghostfaces (Stu, Mickey, Mrs Loomis, Roman, Jill, Charlie, Richie, Amber, Quinn, Detective Bailey, Ethan, Danny, possibly Doofy and everyone else who donned the mask).

Ghost Face is now my favorite, he so cool despite being a normal person, so unique, and actually can have crazy powers because he legit can be anyone. The references are so good, didn't even know there were that many. . . imagine wehn the full gameplay comes in!

They really didn't get the ability to do Freddy right imo. All the others were phenomenal, but having to use the Jackie Earle Haley version because that movie had just come out a year earlier, having to use double claws, it just didn't work very well. If they got the opportunity to do Freddy the way they've done everybody else, control over what they could do, Robert Englund, all the things they could do, it would be the ultimate guest character experience.

I think the fatality is a reference to the opening of Scream 4, when Anna Paquin stabs Kristen Bell while watching a Stab movie.

Am I crazy or is Ghostface so well-animated in MK? His moves are so readable and visually distinct, which is unusual for Netherrealm....
I hope they take this animation approach in the future man. It's a nice blend of the realism they're going for.

I need to re-watch these movies. It’s been a hot minute since I saw “Scream”.
My problem with the See something red, is that was not the killer in that movie, it was a poser that got killed by the real ghost face in the next scene. Sure the guy was wearing the ghost face outfit so it could count, but I think it does not.
0:48 is it weird that I like the movie sfx more than the game? The movie has more "SHING" to it....
