KP came to my parents’ Marathon Refinery in Louisiana around 2008. It was the first time I’d ever met a driver and i won the pit challenge! It was just one of the coolest days of my Childhood. I keep my KP signed diecast in my office.
Kyle Petty was my favorite growing up. I was super young when I saw Days of Thunder, and then saw Kyle in the Mello Yello car and he was my dude from that point on.
kyle petty is a wonderful human being. always has great stories to tell. I can't imagine how hard it was for him to lose a child and I'm glad he was able to do something in memory of adam
Like him or not Kyle Petty is Nascar royalty and even though some say he didn't live up to the Petty name but he still grew up with the Allisons and Jarretts and other kids who grew up to be drivers and their families which is the way it has been in Nascar right from the beginnings of stock car racing

Did they not listen to these stories. He has his finger on the pulse of racing history and present stats/conditions. He is as much part of the sports history as any other driver.
Wins do not always equal wisdom. KP has the advantage and knowledge of 4 generations of family experiences.
Imo, he is Nascar royalty, maybe not a king, but at least a prince.

KP you are my guy, I'm a history buf, love your stories.
I love hearing Kyle Petty's perspective.
I met Kyle & the King yrs.ago at a GM dealership. I prepared the cutesy vehicles for the drivers to use race weekend. Kyle & me talked for about 20mins. Like we were friends forever. His dad also. What he said about referring to his dad as the KING!!! That's all true!!! I asked him that... his dad was autographing stuff for everyone & taking pictures with everyone. He pointed to Richard and said to me...you see that man...THAT'S THE KING!!! I have a picture of The King, Kyle and me autographed on my wall. WOW! One of the greatest days of my life!!😁👍

Everytime I see Kyle in that 45 hat, memories come back. Not of watching him race, nor of watching Adam race, but from the time I was learning about this sport at the end of 2016 and started watching it. Such a sąd story

Kyle made good points back in the 60’s there was one car per driver
We ran at Hickory People back then ran 2-4 races a week that’s how they made a living they had to take care of their cars
I heard a good example to think about safety. Ride a motorcycle on a race track Naked . How fast will you be ? Ride in full gear. How much faster ?
They should loop the Mountain Dew mistake near the end there with really obvious "Mell-Oh Yell-O". Or maybe bleep it. Get in front of it, somehow.
He's right man I started watching in the early 2000s. It's totally different nowadays. No respect for each other.
Good Interview, Kyle was so spot on except for the logano deal. Joey was in the right for the end of the race bump and run to win.
This year, with this car, is not racing. It is a pack identical car running in a high speed pack until they CRASH, Green to crash over and over. Not racing. I don't see how the owners can continue to afford this. No wonder the big sponsors are leaving. Something will have to change

That hat he wearing is in memory of his son Adam. That was Adam's car number and the black stripe is out of respect and rememberance.

The racing has changed to the point that the stands are for the most part are empty, so I would say the changes have not been for the better, I absolutely hate the stage racing but that my opinion

Thank you KP about stupid Joey because during the clash or duels i remember Joey wrecking his car when everyone was worried about parts shortage & he just went about it by saying "they build Mustangs everyday", so he doesnt care if he wrecks a car that he doesnt have to write a check for!!! Stuff like that is why im not a fan of his & wouldnt have respect for him on the track. & speaking of shirts,why isn't there any "Let Me Say This" T-Shirts out & if there already is then where can i find them???

Used too be a huge Kyle Petty fan mellow yellow years when I was a kid only driver too blow me off for an autograph on several occasions idk why but always harbor some hatred towards him since and I'm 40 now 😆 🤣
KP WAS pretty brash and standoffish in the 90's. I think Adam's death changed him a lot, though. Since then and especially in recent years, it seems like he's calmed down a lot. I never really cared for him much when he was still driving, but I have a lot more respect for him, now. And I'll be 40 in less than a year, myself, lol.

Kyle has a great personality and alot of what he says makes sense . However he talks like he was a great driver. Mediocre at best. Put your foot on there throat.. did you do that to run 30th every week

U had dale sr..but as a kid in the 4th grade in 94. We had Kyle's pimp car. The Mello Yello car. Then the Coors cars..I loved those paint schemes. Kyle may be a lot mediocre than others. But his cars were captivating AF for a kid.
