The importance of these two and DJ and Jr can not be overstated ...they are the bridge between the NASCAR us old guys know all the way back to Greenville Pickens -dirt track and todays NASCAR that many of us don't like so much ....they talk directly to us and keep our interest ... Treasures !
Two of the greatest guys in the sport! Honest, high integrity, excellent character, and not afraid to tell it like it is. NASCAR is so much better having you guys involved.
I met kyle in south ga when adam was racing for sprint. Kyle was at a meet n greet for sprint. He was the nicest most down to earth driver ive met. He took time and talked to me. Even asked me questions bout my own racing. Always been a huge fan.
GREAT conversation!!! You guys lived history with the greats, and to hear you talk about it is truly amazing!!! Kyle talking about the "Petty junkyard" would make a video all to itself!! I'm about the same age as you guys and recently retired....and yes....we are in a good place!!!! Take care!!!
Man Kyle Petty hit the nail on the head from 18 minutes to about 25 minutes. I've always rooted for Kyle and remember when we lost Adam. You keep picking some of the best interviews possible.
Kenny once again you have outdone yourself again.Kyle Petty is a wonderful person, from a wonderful family. The 3rd generation racer who had a great career, and has stories of 60 years of Racing with the Pettys.Kyle is so nice, and chill.God Bless The Pettys.
I've always thought of some racers in Northeast Wisconsin as Nascar worthy but never had the funding or platform to be seen. With the exception, I'm so happy for Ty Majeski getting to where he is, that man worked his but off all while going to engineering college too. Mark my words, he will be in a cup car in the near future! Great show guys!
I've just finished listening to this for the 3rd time!! While I've enjoyed all the Kenny Conversations, this is hands down my favorite! Kenny and Kyle, listening to you guys swapping memories and stories was awesome...can we get a Part 2?
Wow great interview, I've been a Kyle Petty fan since day one! When my son was little I took him to Adam Pettys ASA race shop in Marne, every once in a while he says "Dad we sure had fun that day"!
Great interview with Kyle Petty! That xfinity race was incredible and the cup race was awesome too. Glad the rain held off. Man I hope you keep interviewing these guys. They won’t be here forever
That kid dreaming to get behind the wheel was me, then I found Rally racing when I was 13 and did all I could to get there.. so far just autoX and time trials, but I think that's the best I'll ever have and I'm grateful to have the ability to do that!
Thank You!! It wasn't even about racing!!! this was about life!! I didn't drive race cars, but felt totally connected to the conversation when I was a child, growing up!!
First I had goosebumps watching this episode it was AWESOME. Second I barely have two cents to rub together but you two make me feel like one of the guys like I fit right in with you guys. Thank you very much 😊. It really means ALOT. Love you guys two of my all time favorite, I could listen to you guys for hours.
KYLE PETTY!!!! WOW!!!! What a guy!!!!! Rebel from day one!!!!! From running the "Hot Wheels" (when Matchbox was so famous) or "Mello Yellow" (instead of Mountain Dew.) Long-haired; hippie-type who NEVER used "Daddy's Millions" to help him along the way or "Granddad's Influence" to pave his path but did it HIS WAY!!!! He's right about the "guy up in the stands" who could do a MUCH BETTER job than a Ty Gibbs just because the "racer's blood" is flowing STRONGER in HIM than in the guy who sits in the seat, but will never get the chance because he's dirt poor. I was like that @15. I think my BEST FINISHING race was my most COSTLY one too because even though I had mechanical issues/crashes. It was EASIER to put in points and condensers then it was to overhaul the engine; cheaper to reshape sheet metal then to rework the whole transmission!!!! Even though the "racer's blood" and the "rebel" in ME is still there, I'm not more calculated; dignified and refined to do it any more. I even down-graded my hog.
Kyle is awesome! I met him and Adam at Texas several years ago! A true legend! I love listening to this podcast Kenny does a great job w fan’s questions and really digging down to the topics!
In 1980 Kyle raced a Camaro at Pender County Speedway that was purchased from Hoss Ellington. It was number 42, blue and red like the cup car, I have a picture of he and my father racing side by side. Kyle has made the statement that he was no good on dirt. This was back in the days of open trailers pulling the cars. I think Kyle ran about 8 or so races at Pender.
I met Kyle when I was about 13 in a Toys R Us when he was driving the Hotwheels 44 car, He signed my No Doubt shirt I was wearing and a Hero Card! Forever a Petty Family fan, I grew up a Richard fan in the 90s, born in 86.
KENNY , I'VE ENJOYED YOUR " CONVERSATIONS WITH KENNY". WITH KYLE PETTY'S INSIGHT AND GAINED WISDOM BY HIS LIFE'S EXPERIENCES , IT MADE FOR YOUR MOST INTERESTING CONVERSATION YET . I HAVE GAINED MORE RESPECT FOR HIS OPINIONS . IT'S ALWAYS ADMIRABLE TO HEAR OF BOTH OF YOUR LOVE AND COMMITMENT TO FAMILY . SINCERELY , DAVID B. LIKELY IRONTON,MO
Love your stories about placeholders in a seat!!! Here in the Midwest, we have some late model drivers that really know their way around. And they struggle having to work a day job and stay up all night building race cars. That are not getting a chance to move up!!! The few young guys out of the Midwest in recent years in NASCAR are not the best we have to offer! Kazlausky is the last guy in from the Midwest that can drive. The rest are also rounds who get to the top by running over their competition. And have access to big money !
one person who works on their cars and got his time in the sun taken away was brandon brown. Nascar never made up for it. Kid works on their cars, finally won one and it was taken away over a chant that he had nothing to do with
Two guys i grew up watching and now we old and man yall have perfected old age using your advantages while your advantages were large mountains to climb.
You guys failed to mention the amount of money these guys make. That allows them to retire at a younger age. Great show kenny, keep up the good work, thanks.... Iggy p
51:53 I think Kyle might be wrong here. Guys like Kurt Busch and a few others barring health issues or injuries aren’t just going to walk away. My opinion.
I pulled for Kenny And Kyle, they both seemed to be always trying to outrun a shadow,Kyle won a race,I think DOVER,got out of the car and said something to the effect of it dont make a carrier, kinda broke my heart a bit.
Agree or disagree sure do enjoy learning about them. One quick question for both of them. When you pass away will you be spending eternity in the smoking or nonsmoking section? Respectfully submitted. Thank you.
These two are the best when it comes to NASCAR!!!! Plus, they're funny, entertaining, and smart.
I could listen to both these guys talk all day
Man… I’ve really enjoyed this 1
OG Kyle Petty
The importance of these two and DJ and Jr can not be overstated ...they are the bridge between the NASCAR us old guys know all the way back to Greenville Pickens -dirt track and todays NASCAR that many of us don't like so much ....they talk directly to us and keep our interest ... Treasures !
I love the story about hauling Coors beer back

Man Kyle Petty hit the nail on the head from 18 minutes to about 25 minutes. I've always rooted for Kyle and remember when we lost Adam. You keep picking some of the best interviews possible.

I love both you guys, 2 of my very favorite Nascar people
Great job Herm, never get enough of kp or Kenny thanks Herm
i knew this'd be a good'n, & it was! thanks!
I will say, all of the dirt track cars on your local Saturday night race track still run carburetors except for the typically tuner divisions
Kyle Petty is an entertainer point blank
I love how real kyle petty always is. A real genuine person that is honest and understands so much of the world were in and where it was 30yrs ago
Kyle Petty is a national treasure.
Found my 1994 tracks premium race card. Man has the hair changed.
Kyle Petty always gets an instant Thumbs Up ......
First I had goosebumps watching this episode it was AWESOME. Second I barely have two cents to rub together but you two make me feel like one of the guys like I fit right in with you guys.

I did a little more research, and I was 11 in 1997 when he drove that car. It was a Toys R Us in the west Phoenix Arizona area.
One of your best shows
The Bomber class at New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, NC still all help each other! A racing family!
