Finally! This game is so underrated man! It is the best online multiplayer experiencie i had in all of xbox. It has a lot of original content! The interfaces are gold too!
I remember this game came out toward the end of my USMC enlistment. So I didn't have much going on. I spent a ridiculous amount of time playing it. I have this weird thing where I have to platinum games I really enjoy. Still one of my proudest plats. It was just insane. I remember spending weeks grinding a world record training time. I remember when I got it. It was the coolest gaming moment iv ever had. This game made me really understand that I could do anything if I put my mind to it. I will never forget this game! ;)
Same thing, this game was also stuck in my head for years. Great video I know this is an old issue but for other people having issues with the number of cores in their CPU, you can easily fix that. Basically every CPU you buy today has more than 4 cores but you can boot your PC with less. Do the following - Open the "System Configuration" Program from the Start menu - Go to boot tab - click "advanced options..." - Check the checkbox "number of processors:" - set it to 4 - Click OK and OK again - It tells you to restart your PC. Restart it now IMPORTANT: Once you're done playing LP2, GO INTO THE SYSCONFIG AGAIN AND DISABLE THE "NUMBER OF PROCESSORS" CHECKBOX AGAIN. What this does in basic terms: it disables some of the hardware of your PC so that it resembles a PC from 2010, which LP2 can understand. So you're actively telling your PC to run with heavily reduced performance.
i loved this game, it was so good. and my first introduction to fighting giant monsters with huge ass explosions and weapons. def a bit clunky but a gem nonetheles. though i think reviews are so low because the late 2000 early 2010s had so many giga banger games every month
Lost Planet 1/2 were some of my favorite games to play and lost planet 1 had great graphics for its time. I also love the story for both and lost planet 2 does great at focusing on teamwork. They're also very unique compared to other games. Also lost planet 1 on extreme is the hardest game that I've ever played and easily is harder than halo 2 legendary. For me at least.
Dude I'm looking up LP2 vids just to see if others feel the same pain as me. Everything you said I 100% agree on. LP2 is one of my fav games from the 360 era and I still play it as much as I can (when I get friends into it (finally)). This game never gets old!!! My heart broke when I saw LP3 for what it was...GARBAGE!!!! I just looked up if there are any mods for LP2 on PC....there aren't....another heartbreak! Why is the world so ignorant?! :(
I feel like LP2 and battlefield BC2 were gems that only real gamers appreciated. I only played the LP2 campaign because I got it suuuuppppeer late but it was easily, and still is the best 3rd person shooter ever. I dunno if its just me but gaming is really dry these days... doesn't seem to be any soul in it anymore. But man... if only I could've been older when this game was out...
I totally agree with everything you said. I loved lost planet 2 and was surprised about the reviews. I didn’t even bother playing the 3rd game because of how different it was
Ahhh, a man of culture I see, then we are kindred spirits my brother. This game was my first introduction to online gaming, as well as my first ps3 game back in the day. I miss it so very much. I hope someday they remaster it for future consoles. Its one of my favorite games, literally a fight between this and Demon Souls classic for my number 1 favorite games of all time
I have played it and I have absolutely loved it, was playing on the 360 later in its life and there was still lots of helpful people online, man I miss that game.
Sadly we can't relive those good old times. This game will always be my favourite game. Yeah it had a decent campaign, but it was clear to all that the main focus of this game was to have a great time with your "FRIENDS!". That's how the developer intented to program this game. It saddens me to the core that it got such an undeserving low score. I want that feeling back to start my playstation, start this game, go to an online lobby and get to play with your friends. The community there was so lovely. We were all people who just want to have a great time and now you won't find anything like that in todays gaming experience. Maybe because gaming used to be niche. Now it's almost mainstream and the competitive aspect grows more and more... I think we will never get anything like that ever again, but I'm blessed to atleast create those memories in those golden times! Thank you for your review!
I searched lost planet 2 and found this, I absolutely loved this game when I first played it. I remember walking into a gamestop in 2011 and finding something new to play instead of the online store because walking into a 2011 gamestop had that charm you couldnt quite put into words, and then I found this beauty of a game and ever since then I loved it, sadly my playstation 3 is long gone but lost planet 2 is on steam for a ridiculous price ($19.99 USD) like Ik the game is great and old but it shouldnt be at that price as of right now.
I played this game for the first time only a year ago. It certainly holds up! Developers these days don't have the courage to make boss fights that require real teamwork anymore.
Genuinely is one of my favorite games. Didn’t even play mp in it, but the campaign carried it for me to the top. My buddy mentioned lost planet way back then since he played the first and then I found the second in the store and grabbed it and fell in love.
its my childhood. I used to play with my older brother and older sister. After more than 10 years, many things changed and the only thing remained the same is we all 3 still agree it is a masterpiece, even released in 2022.
Bought, Downloaded and made this game work on PC. Last time I played this was back in 2012 or 2011. I really need to experience this again, after 10 years of not thinking about this game besides its great battles and good mechanics I’m real happy it was on sale otherwise I would have forgotten it. PC was hard to make it work on but it took me 15 minutes of tinkering and it worked.
Played this game when it first came out is 2010. Was 8 years old and loved it just playing alone. Only reason I found this vid is because I just found out that all VS's have special weapons and a merge between 2 of them 12 years later. Im 20 now and me an my girlfriend are playing it. I'd love to see a remake one day knowing how impossible that is to ask. Glad I'm not the only one who loved this hidden Gem
Absolutely one of my favorite games. I played it solo-with npcs, alternately with my dad, one chapter mine, one chapter his. We got so turbo stucked at the end that we had to check a walkthrough to see that you have to get close to the mega acrid to stick the gps to it's head. I've played this game many times after that, solo each time. I love the weapons and the mechas, I love how all the different character's stories come together at the end and I LOOOOOOVE SHOOTING GUSTAV MAX BABY!!! One of the best games out there.
Real talk when I was fighting Akrid X or using that Mainfire Cannon on the train against the Scurrying Cat-G Akrid, or even the giant spider Cat-G, that gave me the fun goosebumps adrenaline rush. It was the best moments of gaming I ever had.
This game is really fun especially when you play with other 3 friends. It meant to be coop plays. The train campaign was so fun that everyone are doing their parts like reload cannon, cool down heat, and finally boom! Not to mention there are some fun combo weapons and mecha!
Amazing gameplay (+) Confusing controls once you return to play it (-) Lot's of customation (+) Free ? boxes (+) Badass soundtrack (+) Good VS verity (+) Legendary story (yes The story in my eyes was legendary) (+) Did dancing before and faction wars before games (++) (10/10)
I remember me and my friends played that demo over and over. We all agreed to get it when it came out but then I was the only one who actually bought it and never really wound up playing. Still, that game was damn fun.
I found lost planet 2 when my brother took me to a gaming shop. I could choose one game and chose lost planet 2 because I loved the cover so much. Great memories
Brilliant game the multiplayer was an absolute blast too. Got one of my coolest kill streaks, think it was only 5 players but the way in which I pulled it off was the best thing I'd ever done in a multiplayer game XD
OMG, I clearly remember those days. Almost every review out there said this game wasn't that great, but to me everything looked really epic and insane for a game, so I had to try it for myself. Thank God I did it - to this day it still is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Oh, and I played it on PC with Windows 7 and the very despised GFWL (which back then I didn't thought it was THAT bad, but it's a pain in the ass to run on modern systems like 10 last time that I've tried). Still, a phenomenal game, though.
Finally found someone that feels the same way about this game like I did!!! I used to play this everyday as a kid on my xbox and NO game has ever compared to it. It hurts that it isn't playable on PC because I wanted to buy it again but lost planet 2 will always be in my heart
I feel sad and mad that this game never got a proper treatment by reviewers and also the developers. This game was destined to have proper prequels and sequels. I was really expecting some character development -like character based on factions of lost planet 2 down the next games to come. ExNevec, Vagabunndos , Jungle Pirates ... The game had no character development but the was very engaging none the less. We could somehow connect with the characters and the exchange of dialogue at the end of the game did give me a clue that we will be seeing the character development in next games. Lost Planet 2 to me was an introduction to the planet of EDEN, its environment and its settlers. It was massive had levels everywhere -jungles,snow, undersea, volcanic caves to freaking space. It had tons of VSES that could literally do anything - jump, hover, fly and transform. Tons of weapons - from a handgun to the canon of the size that can kill a freaking godzilla. And they gave us the hideous Lost Planet 3 which was totally detached from the game. But I still hope to this day they continue to finish the story.
I agree so hard with your opinion.. this game was revolutionary. Recently came back to this game, and all the nostalgia hit me like a train. If only this game succeeded.. maybe in an alternate universe it did.
This game left a mark for ever in my heart I love it and is my favorite game ever just for the memories of his golden age THE FUCKING BEST GAME OLINE NEVER CREATED And is good to know... It doesn't matter if the critics and the rest of the world hate him ... I'm happy to know there's another person in this world know too the good game this was and can see what I see in some point my life
I still have the ps3 disk... I don't remember that much about the game, just that I loved it as a kid. hmmm... that mission on the spaceship at 0G, after which you literally fall from the sky - that's my most clear memory about the game
As u said, this game was so ahead of its time and full packed with unlockables and content! Even if u just did the same co:op mission with friends or randoms!
I love this game so much, I love EDF series for same reasons why I love this one. Too bad that there's so small amount of games like this.. and the most sad is.. that I play them alone..(
i played this game so much as a kid, truly the game of all time. i picked it up for like $5 at a gamestop because the cover looked cool and fell in love
Man...I remember playing the beta, then getting it at launch. I played it for soooo long but alas, the multiplayer died while I was still playing. RIP LP2. You will always have a special place in my heart PS Femme Fatale ftw
I never played multiplayer but I did 100% the single player back on 360. Lost my old 360 profile so I got it installed on xbox 1 again and am going for the 100% again. One of the greatest games I've ever played!
I agree this game was amazing. One of the best co op experiences I ever had and the new games that are out now don't even compare to the experience that we had with this game
Recently rebought this game out of nostalgia. Let me tell you that I am having a fucking blast reliving my childhood. Loved the first game, 2nd game brought another load of fun to the franchise. I’m finding players 14 years later via the campaign, it’s crazy dude! I hope I can figure out when it’s most active because so far today I haven’t found a multiplayer pvp match available. Crazy to tho k they had factions before for honor came out. This was ahead of it’s time and released during a moment in which it’d be overshadowed by other more known franchises at its time. This game deserved more! This game was the epitome of a love letter. They improved on so much from the first game. I truly hope more people grow aware of LP and buy it. It’s a ton of fun and even more so with friends. If anyone’s on Xbox lmk and maybe we can get a LP group going. Capcom should really revisit this franchise now that the technology for gaming has grown significantly in the last decade. In a time where we witness the burdens of crunch times and terrible publishers scamming their customers, Lost Planet would shine in comparison to other modern franchises if given the opportunity. Where’s the love!?
I remember playing the demo endlessly back in the day before the full game. Man this game was so fucking good. So glad I played LP1+2 back in the day. Sadly, barely anybody even knows the game when I talk about it.
+Great gameplay
+Insane soundtrack
+Cool bosses

I have this weird thing where I have to platinum games I really enjoy. Still one of my proudest plats. It was just insane. I remember spending weeks grinding a world record training time. I remember when I got it. It was the coolest gaming moment iv ever had. This game made me really understand that I could do anything if I put my mind to it. I will never forget this game! ;)
Same thing, this game was also stuck in my head for years. Great video
I know this is an old issue but for other people having issues with the number of cores in their CPU, you can easily fix that.
Basically every CPU you buy today has more than 4 cores but you can boot your PC with less.
Do the following
- Open the "System Configuration" Program from the Start menu
- Go to boot tab
- click "advanced options..."
- Check the checkbox "number of processors:"
- set it to 4
- Click OK and OK again
- It tells you to restart your PC. Restart it now
IMPORTANT: Once you're done playing LP2, GO INTO THE SYSCONFIG AGAIN AND DISABLE THE "NUMBER OF PROCESSORS" CHECKBOX AGAIN.
Truly warms my heart whenever I see people who enjoyed lost planet 2 your feeling on the reviews are same exact ones I had
I had no idea other people knew about this game
The people who said this game was bad... Were bad themselves.
"THAT'S LOST PLANET 2!" Best line from any review of any game ever
I feel like LP2 and battlefield BC2 were gems that only real gamers appreciated. I only played the LP2 campaign because I got it suuuuppppeer late but it was easily, and still is the best 3rd person shooter ever.
I dunno if its just me but gaming is really dry these days... doesn't seem to be any soul in it anymore. But man... if only I could've been older when this game was out...
Yeah i know what your saying, most games these days really do be soulless cash grabs and it really shows...
I totally agree with everything you said. I loved lost planet 2 and was surprised about the reviews. I didn’t even bother playing the 3rd game because of how different it was
I am happy someone finally made a fix for the crashing above 6 cores
They need to remaster lost planet 2 with original controls and up to date controls
Played the campaign couch co op style, instant classic🤌
I really hope they remaster this game. I loved this game so much, Its the best game I've ever played.
No remaster needed, just add server on it
I searched lost planet 2 and found this, I absolutely loved this game when I first played it.
I remember this game from my childhood (yes I’m that young, I’m 18) I spent so much time playing coop with a childhood friend of mine
Sounds like you had a good childhood!
I like how I’m still playing this game lmao
I played this game for the first time only a year ago. It certainly holds up! Developers these days don't have the courage to make boss fights that require real teamwork anymore.
This game was a BIG part of my childhood, it easily gets in my TOP 3
Genuinely is one of my favorite games. Didn’t even play mp in it, but the campaign carried it for me to the top. My buddy mentioned lost planet way back then since he played the first and then I found the second in the store and grabbed it and fell in love.
its my childhood. I used to play with my older brother and older sister. After more than 10 years, many things changed and the only thing remained the same is we all 3 still agree it is a masterpiece, even released in 2022.
Well now it's free on xbox live gold, perhaps a new playerbase will build up.
I really hope so!
add me bro my gamer tag is TW1ZTEDMET4L666, i also play the games modern warfare 3, Skate 3 , gear of war 3 online
When you said "everything about this game made me little bit moist" I straight up burst out laughing 🤣
I miss playing this game countless of hours with my friends!
This game was so good and so far ahead of its time.
Amazing gameplay (+)
Confusing controls once you return to play it (-)
Lot's of customation (+)
Free ? boxes (+)
Badass soundtrack (+)
Good VS verity (+)
Legendary story (yes The story in my eyes was legendary) (+)
Did dancing before and faction wars before games (++)
(10/10)
I remember me and my friends played that demo over and over. We all agreed to get it when it came out but then I was the only one who actually bought it and never really wound up playing. Still, that game was damn fun.
Even though I had no friends I thoroughly enjoyed the game, my favorite part was trying to climb the big ass akrids and ride them whilst shooting.
We need a restmated for lost planet 1,2, and 3.
I feal you bro. I never had so much fun with a game ever again
The game is now free on Xbox live
OMG, I clearly remember those days. Almost every review out there said this game wasn't that great, but to me everything looked really epic and insane for a game, so I had to try it for myself. Thank God I did it - to this day it still is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Oh, and I played it on PC with Windows 7 and the very despised GFWL (which back then I didn't thought it was THAT bad, but it's a pain in the ass to run on modern systems like 10 last time that I've tried).
Still, a phenomenal game, though.
I would love it if they made a remake without the need for GFWL...
Finally found someone that feels the same way about this game like I did!!! I used to play this everyday as a kid on my xbox and NO game has ever compared to it. It hurts that it isn't playable on PC because I wanted to buy it again but lost planet 2 will always be in my heart
Pretty sure it's just having some problems with the old "games for windows live" app and should be back on steam after they fix it
I feel sad and mad that this game never got a proper treatment by reviewers and also the developers.

I just replayed this game for the 6th time and was looking to see if someone shared my opinion. Legitimately one of the best shooters ever.
This game left a mark for ever in my heart I love it and is my favorite game ever just for the memories of his golden age THE FUCKING BEST GAME OLINE NEVER CREATED
And is good to know... It doesn't matter if the critics and the rest of the world hate him ... I'm happy to know there's another person in this world know too the good game this was and can see what I see in some point my life
Sums up capcom really
Everybody hate them, but they never appreciate how good they always were
I still have the ps3 disk... I don't remember that much about the game, just that I loved it as a kid. hmmm... that mission on the spaceship at 0G, after which you literally fall from the sky - that's my most clear memory about the game
Get some friends to play it and have a blast!
@@MonkeyMayCryTV I dont have my ps3 anymore though...
This game is my absolute childhood
I remember playing this game easily 200 hours with my buddy. This game deserves to get a remastered
As u said, this game was so ahead of its time and full packed with unlockables and content! Even if u just did the same co:op mission with friends or randoms!
I love this game so much, I love EDF series for same reasons why I love this one. Too bad that there's so small amount of games like this.. and the most sad is.. that I play them alone..(
Me and my brother played this game for hours everyday after school this is one of my favorite of all time
i played this game so much as a kid, truly the game of all time. i picked it up for like $5 at a gamestop because the cover looked cool and fell in love
facts
i had this game as a demo on the PS3 and would the 1 available level everyday after school as if it was a Full Game.
classic times
Lost planet was great fun but cheaters ruined the game and capcom didnt do anything about it
I always wanted this game since I tried the Demo on xbox 360 and it is great to see that there is still some love for Lost Planet franchise :D!
Top notch review man! I'll be sure to check out more of your content!
Thanks mate!
I LOVE this I had so much fun except for bit with the giant canon against red eye....I always wore the mountain pirate armour except for legs
Great review my dude!
Also who else is watching because Lost Planet 2 is gonna be in Xbox live gold next month?
Man...I remember playing the beta, then getting it at launch. I played it for soooo long but alas, the multiplayer died while I was still playing. RIP LP2. You will always have a special place in my heart
PS Femme Fatale ftw
I never played multiplayer but I did 100% the single player back on 360. Lost my old 360 profile so I got it installed on xbox 1 again and am going for the 100% again. One of the greatest games I've ever played!
I'm glad to see other people enjoyed this game as much as i did
ahead of its time
This game is my childhood...
recently came up in my mind
Just noticed today, I never played the Lost Planet series. Came here to see about it. I'm getting this now used and dirt cheap.
One of best games from my childhood
I loved playing lost planet 2 when I was younger
This game just makes me cry I started when I was 5 and now I'm 14 it's a true gem I will always remember 😔
Ah the days when I use fiery sword machine gun
Didn't we all! :)
Absolutely amazing game, my favorite character is the railway cannon.
I’m glad I discovered this national treasure back in 09, I just wish we’d get a continuation from the second game. A man can dream.
I've been dreaming for a return to this formula since its release... it was just too ahead of it's time and people wasn't ready for it.
I remember playing the demo endlessly back in the day before the full game. Man this game was so fucking good. So glad I played LP1+2 back in the day. Sadly, barely anybody even knows the game when I talk about it.
