    I've always said this watch does it all, great little watch that's sporty enough and smart enough to have as a one watch collection. Thanks for a great review

    Seiko 5s are excellent. That was my gateway model. Bought a gold SUR358 months later as a special occasion watch. Perfect for a two watch collection.
    That lasted one maybe two years until my gf now wife bought a Fossil for me.

      @@addicted_to_watches I have a question..is it ok 37mm case for 9.5 inch wrist?😅 The bracelet kinda long enough so I'm gonna buy 3rdparty bracelet for long bracelet.

      At the end of the day if you like it, you should wear it. It might look small compared to others but it only really matters what you think about it

    As a dress style watch its a great option. As an everyday go anywhere watch the crystal and the water resistance become an issue. Or just have a Timex Ironman or Casio digital for landscaping, construction work etc.

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've got a lot of watches with hardlex crystals and to be honest I've never put any significant scratches on them

    • @ahoneyman
      @ahoneyman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@addicted_to_watches Mine had unfortunate meetings with cast iron engine blocks and rocks. Why I have an Ironman for futzing with cars and landscaping.

    If we're honest any watch with at least 50m water resistance is the only watch 99% of us will ever need... 😅🌚🌝

      Is this watch only rated for 30m of water resistance though?

    • @addicted_to_watches

      You're right. Most places I look list it at 30m

    Great review! By the way that case back is aftermarket. The original is a see through case back that adds about 2mm of height so not worth it. I own this watch and I put a similar case back and that Aliexpress bracelet on. Both really elevate the watch and make it look more expensive than it is!

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. My understanding is that the solid caseback comes from an earlier version of the watch. I bought mine second hand so think it is one of those earlier models

    • @brett233
      @brett233 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@addicted_to_watches that’s strange. I prefer the look of the see through but the thinness of the solid.

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Given the choice between the two I'd take thinness any day.

    Just got mines yesterday and I love it. I am just curious why does mine also say 21 jewels on the dial and not this One

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be that mine is an older version. Mine also does it have the display caseback that new ones do

    • @s.m.pravin9738
      @s.m.pravin9738 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There's 2 different versions of most Seiko 5 watches. The ones that have 21 jewels on the dial are made in Japan and they also have J in their model name. The watch in this video is snxs79k1 yours is snxs79j1. Japanese versions are said to be of higher quality and they're more sought after because they have "made in Japan" written on the dial. But as far as I've noticed there is actually no difference in quality. The only difference is the extra text and different language for day

    These aren't discontinued. They were still being made in 2023 according to the serial number dater tool

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really? Because everything that I have read is all 7s movement watches are not being made anymore. Seiko serial numbers generally only have a single number for the year, but don't tell you the decade, so could refer to 2000s or 2010s maybe

    • @AndySmith4501
      @AndySmith4501 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@addicted_to_watches
      Well I've just bought one brand new and used the Seiko dating tool. You put the serial number and movement reference in
      According to that my watch was made in 2003/2013/2023 which isn't helpful but does show it was still being produced this year. Also don't forget Lorus, which is a sub brand of Seiko, still use the 7s26 in their autos
