I love how this film isn’t trying to do too much. It documents a little coincidence and leaves us wanting more. Simple but effective characterization by showing and not telling. Seriously good stuff.
Yeah, screw all that thinking stuff and feeling anything that really means s/thing to ya. Makes my brain hurt. Gimme Dennis Dugan and Michael Bay. That what us 'simple' ppl want.
The cinematography is great. The SKIN TONES are rich and textured. But your sound design is the secret sauce here. Keeping those alley voice just loud enough to hear, but behind all the diegetic sound from the laundry room.... incredible work.
Can't understand the dialogue but sound design was great 😂basic coloring and "the skin tones are rich and textured " 😂😂bro wtf are you smoking if this is that impressive to you
This felt like some early Tarantino! So tight, the tension, the shot choices. Perfectly understanding these two characters with zero dialogue. Amazing work.
The perfect scenic vibe. Perfect shots, angles, lighting, and sound. The beauty of the 16mm. Love the novice criminal who meets a professional one, only to be outmaneuvered. So much artistry in this film!
Between the two guys hiding out and smoking? If so then what are you smoking? There was no tension. Just Nervousness from Non cool dude when cop was outside door. Chill guy was cool as ice and then made the non cool guy feel at ease and relax. Had a few laughs. Then cool guy dipped out. A slight See ya later and nod. A chuckle and then After seeing he didn’t steal much his lighter was jacked by cool dude. No tension.
Not even lying, this is probably one of the best short films on TH-cam. A lot of short films on TH-cam feel like clones of one of other like all the horror short films here on TH-cam. But your film, it just feels fresh you know. Great film keep it up!
i love the (maybe intentional) symbology of one of them wearing nike blazers and the other wearing a pair of converse high tops. Very similar shoes, different materials, different maker, same purpose.
I love how you wrote it to suit the medium. No dialogue, no crystal sync needed, all sound design, and incredibly executed. That's before getting to the STUNNING lighting and shot choices. Well-done you!
This is amazing, the cinematography, the warmth of the colour tones, the crisp sound design and music, all of it fantastic. The story as well, the two pickpockets meeting together in the same hiding spot, masterful, so funny.
Dude, one of the best short films I've seen. This nailed EVERYTHING (the visuals, audio, music, story), and its even all packed into less than four minutes. Excited to see more bro
This is amazing! loved it. And I can't believe how much this guy looks like Desmond from lost. I thought it was him, but I figured he would be much older by now.
The visuals, typography, colours, editing are really really great, love it. Doing the reveal with no dialogue and just through visuals and the police intercoms is genius. But the sound design is what sells the whole thing. It's perfect. Big kudos.
Everything is on the spot, cinematography, quick and crisp sound. A small snippet of 2 dippers meeting at a spot exchanging glances. Elegant . Reminds me of reservoir dogs. Kudus to the whole cast and crew !
lost for words. the 16MM FILM, the beautiful sr3, the composition, the acting, the perfect plot and film length for a short film. well done, hope you all get recognized for the hundreds of hours put into the craft
this guy has Lee Pace vibes (only a normal height). Maybe even some young Russel Crowe energy. Meet the right people and he could be a star. Fantastic cinematography. Perfectly told this story. well done
The dynamic between the criminals was super palpable, even without words. Visual style was beautiful. Good work. Really liked the ending with the stolen lighter. The hot shot has still got a lot to learn
That is so goood! Thank you man! Make a clear story without a single word! Terrific color, editing, sound design. Have not miss the spot! I felt so happy at the end! And dude, just look at those faces and characters! 10/10 Love it. Absolutely love it. Lets make short films great again.
It's a masterpiece!!! I watched it round about 10 times ! I love it! Everything's so perfect. The look, the sound, the music, the 2 actors....Just perfect! I want a second part!!!
Digital will never beat celluloid. There's something magical how film capture the light. How skin tones looks natural. That little shiny clouds. Those golden sparks. I miss those times when movies were shot on film.
This was really well done! The no-dialogue, the camera work. I love the film look! The sound design really draws you in. I hope I can make something of this caliber in the near future.
So good.... for those who and i mean myself who is horrible when it comes to writing scripts, this is a huge example that you can make amazing shorts without even saying one word... great job
The visual quality of this looks like some big movies. I love the lack of dialogue and just visually telling a short story. Also loved that slide transition in the streets with the sound effect 00:32
I usually skip all the videos from my recommended page, I accidentally click on this one and I was about to close the tab, but it immediately caught me, nice photography, super cool acting and great storytelling, this made me fall in love with short films again.

Works with the sound off. If you're a real director -- and by this, you sure seem to be -- you know that's a big deal. Congrats. One director to another. Also -- this is a pretty low-key smart idea for a short that I haven't seen before. I feel like Preston Sturges would've dug the premise.
Subtle story telling, brilliant camera work / color grading. This audio is also super pleasing to the ear as well, (Im giving unwanted praise) but I like what I see if that means anything to you hahaha
0:35 was that an oversight? ☺ It seems like the wrong camera angle made it to the final Cut. Well, with such sterling piece of work overall, that can be forgiven :)
Holy shit dude, this is the kind of cinematography I’m tryna get to. This reminds me of some smaller budget films from the 90s that are still memorable. Keep this up!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine if they had switched sweatshirt and leather jacket before they left... Maybe wouldn't make logistical sense in this context, but there's a neat idea there. Great film!
